    This was explained in a way where I was able to adjust my carb well. Before this video I watched other videos. I know what the adjusters were. I just did not understand their relation. I installed a tachometer thinking it would help. I searched online for the RPM range for my scooter. 1500 to 2000. I followed your instructions. The top end was 3000 RPM it would not go any higher than 3150. It would start to shut down around 1230. So B would be around 2100 RPM. After setting the mixture, I adjusted the idle where it would not bounce back and forth. The scooter started to act funny when I changed the air filter. I'm looking to change the exhast next. Again, thank you for making this video... it seems you were the right teacher for my learning perference.

    I really appreciate your way of teaching🎉🎉And i have a issue in my discover 125 cc bike bs3 model 5 speed engine. That is, i have cleaned my carburetor throughly , adjusted the tappet well,replaced with new air screw, slow speed screw ,air filter ,spark plug with geniune one & recently serviced cylinder head valves also. But when i tune the carburettor air screw when i close the air screw till the end engine gets stammering and when i rotate the air screw towards anti clock wise direction engine rpm starts to get increasing after 3 full turns ,after that engine rpm is increasing well but stays stable ,no change. After that rpm has to be reduced in one point if we rotate the rpm screw completely ,but it won't. Even if we completely loosen the air screw also the rpm wont decrease either increase in further rpm. Then when we remove the airscrew the engine gets off. So i left the air screw after 4 1/2 full turn & reduced the slow speed screw to 1000 rpm. Becoz i can't able to find the proper optimal position. So kindly guide me why it is happening & how to fix the problem, hope you will reply me, thank you.Note 👉 i have cleaned the carburettor already due to the same issue but it still exists 😢😢

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, first tighten the air screw completely. Do not overtighten. Start the engine and adjust the idle screw so that engine has low idling. Then start unscrewing the air screw and count the number of turns it takes to get the highest RPM. For example if you get the highest RPM after unscrewing 4 turns then the optimal position would be 2 turns from complete close position. Hope this helps.

    in my tvs ntorq, turning the screw clockwise makes the fuel mixture rich.. and anti clockwise makes it lean

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be a reverse threaded air screw. We need to identify the direction of rotation which increases the RPM. That will be rich mixture setting.

    • @subratabn
      @subratabn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@autobotgeekse No, it is not a reverse threaded screw, I have confirmed. It is the same as in Jupiter. And, like in Jupiter, unscrewing it makes the mixture lean, as Nitanshu Chaudhary has correctly pointed out. That's because this screw controls the air from an air-bleed flowing into the main air + fuel stream that is entering the intake manifold, not the flow of fuel as you had said.

    If your air fuel mixture screw is on the engine side, wouldn’t it be a fuel screw? Therefore turning it CW would restrict the fuel flow and lean the mixture?

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the carburettors will have both air mixture screw and idling screw on the same side. However, we can identify the screw type basis the direction in which screw is moving inwards or outwards. Tuning can be done accordingly

    You say that at higher altitudes air has lesser oxygen (at around 3:32), which means that the fuel-air mixture gets rich (more fuel than is optimal) at higher altitudes. And then, (at 3:36) you advise keeping air-fuel mixture rich when one goes to higher altitudes. Shouldn't it be the opposite-- if it is already rich (due to altitude) why make it more rich? Shouldn't one adjust the carburettor for a relatively leaner mixture at higher altitudes, to compensate for the rich mixture?

    • @thirdlevel27
      @thirdlevel27 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.. What he said is wrong. For higher altitudes it should be lean mixture.

      @autobotgeekse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, probably fuel is not reaching the carburettor properly. Scooters fuel line is not linked directly to carburettor. Fuel gets pulled to manifold basis the vaccum pressure created from cylinder. Please have the vaccum line cleaned and see if there is an improvement

    Would this apply to Honda navi stock carburetor? I am bit a confused since some say it is an air screw and not a fuel the one Honda navi has on the left side closer to the engine, could you help me clarify that, thank you!

    Sir, The way you explained is great but i have seen pop up tital msg between video in which you apologize for rich and lean mode.. as far as i know tightening screw will consume more fuel and less air and vice versa for unscrew it. Plz explain to me !

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, those are the correction subtitles. I interchanged the terminologies in the audio, hence added correction subtitles. It is the air screw that we are tightening which will regulate the air to fuel ratio. If we tighten the fuel sucked will still be less when compared to lean setting.

    My scooter completely uses up a full fuel tank in just a few kilometers. Since I don't have a license plate (yet), I'm not allowed to go on any main roads, and thus my rides are very short (200m at most, 3-5 times a day), but I still managed to drain the full tank within 2 WEEKS.

    sir,its a air screw not mixture screw , it is mikuni variant on Jupiter, on my tvs wego max rpm comes at 1 complete screw open from bottom out.
    Factory setting is 2 complete screw open, I am confused which one should I keep?
    at factory setting when you flip the accelerator rpm doesn't become normal quickly

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is Air screw. However, it's also termed as air mixture screw as it mixes air to the fuel. For Wego it takes 5-10 seconds to achieve the proper idling once de-accelarated.
      If you max out on RPM for just one turn, then adjust the idle screw so that the RPM is low and then try opening the air screw and see if you see a difference. Your vehicle seems to be set at high rpm idling.

      Thanks sir for reply.
      Observation are as follows
      - Max idling rpm at 1 screw open from fully closed.
      - Now you set idling rpm normal & start opening air screw open, Max idling rpm achieved at 1.5 screw open from fully closed & if left at same setting ,vehicle has serious starting issue.
      after getting tired I keep air screw at 0.75 & run the vehicle, also it is able to clear the Pollution check certificate.

    • @autobotgeekse
      @autobotgeekse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adik9441 do you still have starting issue at .75 turn? How is the mileage? Since .75 will be a rich setting it should give good mileage. Check my other video where I have shown mileage test results for all three settings
