IIRC, in Sims 3, if you leave the washed clothes in the washing machine for too long, it would get stuck in it, and sims would have a hard time pulling them out. Also, cheap washing machines can get noisy and shake more violently, and sims can try to subdue it. They would get a positive moodlet (Victory Over Washer) if they succeeded or a negative moodlet (Defeated by Washer) if they failed.
I don't think it's a tie. In Sims 3, it's part of an expansion pack that included 5 non rabbit hole jobs, self-employment, 3 new skills, one new career track, a new creature, and on, and on, and on. How many packs would all that take in Sims 4? 😬

@@z.startedafire I know a few years back I downloaded a laundrymat, that had functional (that gave the appearance of working), washers and dryers (which I had to also download separately, along with the deco ones). I only used them to fit story telling aspect, but the lot was really buggy anyway. Honestly, I do think the coding can be done, combining the buying from shelf clothing interaction, to grab out of the dryer, and using similar coding to placing trash in trashcan (using different meshes), as well as the trash compactor (like the coding for the recycling bins). The limitations only go as far as if there are animations/mechanics/game physics available to replicate in TS2, which thus far, the TS2 modding community has been able to add in most aspects of TS3 and TS4. You have to remember, that both TS3 and TS4 cut out quite a bit of animations and game mechanics (even ones that were in TS1). Some of the things I thought were impossible have indeed been added in by the modding community: SP, Open World, Horses, Fairies, Mermaids, traits, etc. Not too shabby for a 20 year old game❣
I've noticed that in Sims 3, the washing machines are all top loaders, whereas in Sims 4, they are front loaders. Also there is a total of seven different washer and dryers you can buy in Sims 3. But there are only two options in Sims 4. One of them being a single washer or dryer by themselves. The other is buying them as a set, with the dryer stacked on top.
The reason TS3 has only top loader washing machines, is that they were the only form of machine available in the canononic timeline (a nice touch by the devs). I forget if there are more futuristic ones available at the store, but I do know that TS3:ITF allows Sims to shower and wash clothes they are wearing simultaneously, without taking clothes off. I am saddened that TS4 has an entire dedicated pack, that still does not come close to all added in individual packs of TS3, that are not just dedicated to laundry. Even Sets/Combos at TS3:Store offer more than TS4's dedicated pack. 🤷♀️
You forgot that extra detail in the Sims 4 about the hampers. When a Sim is wet from the rain or been in a pool and you change the clothes, you'll see water dripping out of the hamper. Sims with very low hygiene or stinky clothes if left on the floor for too long, you'll see a cloud of musk in the hamper. Same with the clothes that it's been fragranced (Butterflies) and fouled (Flies). It can have a uncomfortable moodlet if Sims are nearby to it, but it's bugged cause even if you put the dirty/wet clothes into the washing machine, the uncomfortable moodlet will still be there. But there's a workaround to fix that, just go into build and buy mode, put the hamper into the household inventory, and then manually put it back and the uncomfortable moodlet is gone.

While TS4 adds a few more aspects, and that sense of realism with hanging clothes on a clothesline (12 hours though for a simulation game?), and clothes getting wet in the rain (to start that 12 hr clock again), I still think TS3 adds just the right touch, especially since laundry is added in several packs (as well as the Store). I do like that clothing can be stacked on surfaces, prior to putting away, but if left there too long, is it realistic that they unfold themselves, becoming a pile again? Oh, and one basket for all rooms? While I do find it annoying (especially with the TS3:UL lots), to have to place clothes in another room's basket, it is far more realistic than them teleporting from one room to another. Correct me if I am wrong, TS3's laundry baskets will actually fill up, whereas TS4's one basket is limitless? While it is nice that TS4 added the spin animation, TS3 shaking is far more impressive. Now, while TS3 does offer a more basic washing/drying experience, TS4 does shine with the ability to add fragrances (even food 🤮), and that is a nice added touch. Although TS4 comes closer to winning (perhaps might have even won), I have to subtract points for it being its own dedicated pack, while TS3 implemented it in various packs (as well as designated content: individual items/sets/combos/bundles at TS3:Store). That alone edges TS3 over TS4❣👏
Overall The Sims 4 did well with its laundry. The only thing I wish it would have added was actually animating putting the laundry detergent and dry sheet. From sims 3. Although neither of them have those, I wish that it would have came out with an iron and ironing board. And like someone else had mentioned in the comments, I wish that if they have no more clean clothes, they have to wear their old dirty ones. And they could refresh it with the Sims version of forbreeze 😂.
I wonder if you have eco lifestyle or whatever, if you can make a community lot that could work as a laundromat. It wouldn't be the same as a real laundromat, but it might do.
I easily prefer the sims 4 edition not only because it’s more realistic than ts3, but it has way more options as well. Plus you can easily create a laundromat in the ts4 alongside anything really. Sims 3 is more non complicated imo though.

great example of how a small pro of sims 4 having seperated features into smaller packs lets them put more effort into the function of the pack. The only thing sims 3 had going for it is 2 "detailed" animations.
I prefer adding laundry in sims 3 more than sims 4 since in sims 4 the sims are so dumb you need to tell them to turn the machine on after putting the laundry in it but sims 3 you just click "do laundry" and the sim collects it all and puts it in the washing machine and TURNS IT ON. now the last part just makes me happy, its so annoying to find out the sim was so much of a brain rotted idiot to turn the washing machine on
I don't know if you mentioned this, but I'm pretty sure laundry in the Sims 3 comes in more than ambitions I remember getting the Sims 3: University back in the day and being really surprised that came with laundry ^^ Just a simple washer and dryer though
This is why I don't put any hampers nor washing machines. I don't have to suffer with clothes everywhere on the floor like so. Kinda like how if you remove the school from the town, nobody has to go there anymore and kids and teens have nore free time 😂❤
Here's some things each game did better: Sims 4 had more options and details Sims 4 had fragrances and the ability to load up a washer before turning it on Sims 3 had the better washer and dryer opening animations since the sims open them manually. Sims 4 has the spinning animation for the front loader. Rain can make hanging clothes wet in Sims 4. Sims add detergent to the washer in Sims 3. Laundromat is its own lot type in Sims 3, in Sims 4 you will need to place a hamper or use a mod for this. Sims 3 had better shaking and the sound effects are more realistic. Overall, Sims 4 wins this one, however it is because its the main feature of a stuff pack while in Sims 3, it was a small feature in Ambitions, so of course Sims 4 would have more fleshed out laundry. Sims 3 gets the job done, Sims 4 expands on it and makes it seem more interesting.
I was torn at first between the two. 4 does have a bit more to it than 3, like adding fragrences and clothes actually get wet in the rain by plus the wash bucket is a cool addition. But, it has its own stuff pack but didn’t bring back laundromats? No animation of putting the detergent in or cleaning the lint dryer? And only 1 set dryer and washer? Yeah I take 3 over this. Regardless, I think laundry should be a base game feature in a life sim game. Wished sims 1 and sims 2 had laundry. That would have been cool. 😢
Tell me why some Sims 4 animations actually look okay, yet there are also others that look bad and have no attention to detail. It makes it look very unfinished (probably because the community was rushing the devs to finish it).
laundry already being inlcuded in an expansion pack in sims 3 but being in a mediocre cash grabbing stuff pack in sims 4, this is the shit were talking about
I should hope Sims 4 was more detailed you literally have to spend 10 dollars for laundry in that game whereas in Sims 3 it's a very small feature in a massive expansion.
Sims 4 😢🏆🎉 It has the hand wash clothes kit, 🧺🫧👐🏼 Sims 3 have laundromat, still good but you have to pay for it 😅💵😢 that's why the blonde sim was crying 4:45 , I feel her😂
(TS4) I noticed with my alien baby using cloth diapers, when she’d get a diaper change, the soiled diaper would add the fragrance effect to the dirty clothes in the hamper. None of the other babies (non alien) did that, even when also using cloth diapers with them too. 😅
The Sims 4 didn't win for me because it had to be added into a separate pack. Anyone who supports all this separation into different packs are sellouts.
Originally the laundry did come in its own separate pack in The Sims. 3 and then it was later added in Sims 3 ambition. I would be fine with its own pack. I just wish they had added ironing.
The sims 4 would win for me if not for the CONSTANT bugs that render this pack unusable for me. The laundry tub and machine never clean the clothes, the clothesline makes clothes dirty again, etc.
Laundry Day, Bust the Dust, and Nifty Knitting could’ve been merged into a single expansion pack. Laundry and knitting focus on clothes and laundry and dust focus on cleanliness.
With the right CC Sims 3 could look beautiful, however I do agree that vanilla Sims look very ugly, I just don't find them so hideous that the entire game sucks.
In the Sims 4, the clothing line wires can sometimes snap and will need to be repaired. But you can upgrade them to be unbreakable.
I had no idea! Never happened to me. It's a nice detail tho.
IIRC, in Sims 3, if you leave the washed clothes in the washing machine for too long, it would get stuck in it, and sims would have a hard time pulling them out. The laundry stuff is cute but I kinda wish your sims can run out of clean clothes if they don't do their laundry often. Cuz it honestly feels like a redundant chore since they'll just wear their regular outfit anyway whether they do it or not.
Sims 3 That electric shock I didn’t know😅
Sims 4 actually wins this one.
*if it actually works and the washing machine isn't breaking all the time or becomes unclickable and needed to be replaced with a new one because of a bug since launch that they still hasn’t fixed yet
@@imagebear8916 Mine hasn't been buggy. And everything in Sims 4 breaks. Toilets, sinks, showers, computer, stoves, everything. You're meant to upgrade your sim's handiness skill so they can upgrade the objects so they don't break.
When I have my computer I will download the other The Sims :)
I love doing laundry!
😂😂😂😂😂 they act they didn't want to do laundry
6:13 Excuse me… but this is some kind of Sims 2 level of detail… I am shocked
3:58 This is true, but the one shown is from Town Life Stuff 😊
I love sims 4 laundry! But I also want top loaders and laundromats as in s3
I want comparison of massage table & spa
7:43
Don't think it, don't say it.
great example of how a small pro of sims 4 having seperated features into smaller packs lets them put more effort into the function of the pack. The only thing sims 3 had going for it is 2 "detailed" animations.
I prefer adding laundry in sims 3 more than sims 4 since in sims 4 the sims are so dumb you need to tell them to turn the machine on after putting the laundry in it but sims 3 you just click "do laundry" and the sim collects it all and puts it in the washing machine and TURNS IT ON. now the last part just makes me happy, its so annoying to find out the sim was so much of a brain rotted idiot to turn the washing machine on
I don't know if you mentioned this, but I'm pretty sure laundry in the Sims 3 comes in more than ambitions
I remember getting the Sims 3: University back in the day and being really surprised that came with laundry ^^
Just a simple washer and dryer though
Finally sims 4 be decent at it but you have to pay 10$ to do laundry tho.
Eu adorava as lavadoras do the sims 3. Sempre comprava a mais barata e barulhenta. Era bom demais. 😅😅
My butler's bedroom was the laundry room
I have no interested in The Sims laundry, but after Trixie Mattel mentioned it, here I am
From 5hr in S3 to 12hr in S4 for dry time😮
This is why I don't put any hampers nor washing machines. I don't have to suffer with clothes everywhere on the floor like so. Kinda like how if you remove the school from the town, nobody has to go there anymore and kids and teens have nore free time 😂❤
Here's some things each game did better:
Sims 4 had more options and details
Sims 4 had fragrances and the ability to load up a washer before turning it on
Sims 3 had the better washer and dryer opening animations since the sims open them manually.
Sims 3 gets the job done, Sims 4 expands on it and makes it seem more interesting.
in my opinion the both have the best laundry, but the sims 4 is the winner
I was torn at first between the two. 4 does have a bit more to it than 3, like adding fragrences and clothes actually get wet in the rain by plus the wash bucket is a cool addition. But, it has its own stuff pack but didn’t bring back laundromats? No animation of putting the detergent in or cleaning the lint dryer? And only 1 set dryer and washer? Yeah I take 3 over this.
Regardless, I think laundry should be a base game feature in a life sim game. Wished sims 1 and sims 2 had laundry. That would have been cool. 😢
Sims 3 is a million times better than anything Sims 4 can muster.
the amazing details of The Sims 3 is amazing! the best really!
TS3 wins for me because of the laundry mats and the fact that they put detergent and dryer sheets in the machines.
Yes even if I noticed in the Sims 4 that if my Sim is a spellcaster, he can use " Impeccablo "
In one of my rare praises for Sims 4, it wins here. It has more detail, plus I like that you can have a wash tub instead of a machine.
Tell me why some Sims 4 animations actually look okay, yet there are also others that look bad and have no attention to detail. It makes it look very unfinished (probably because the community was rushing the devs to finish it).
Laundry is the only thing that the sims 4 did worst and better in the same way then the sims 3
mine keeps explode everytime 😭
I love your videos keep up the good work also I prefer sims 4
Thank you! Will do! ❤️❤️
The Sims 4 finally won a comparison!!
Oblivion arse graphics 😭
laundry already being inlcuded in an expansion pack in sims 3 but being in a mediocre cash grabbing stuff pack in sims 4, this is the shit were talking about
I should hope Sims 4 was more detailed you literally have to spend 10 dollars for laundry in that game whereas in Sims 3 it's a very small feature in a massive expansion.
The Sims 4 is better
Sims 3 wins just on the basis that its laundry actually works.
very rare sims 4 win
Sims 4 😢🏆🎉
It has the hand wash clothes kit, 🧺🫧👐🏼
Sims 3 have laundromat, still good but you have to pay for it 😅💵😢 that's why the blonde sim was crying 4:45 , I feel her😂
Sims 4 did it the best!
Finally one that sims 4 wins. Relish this one, it's unique.
Wait how can you do your laundry in sims 4???
Hi there ! You need the laundry day stuff pack installed. You will find the washing machines, dryers, wash tubs and hampers in the appliances section.
I love the sims3 more
No entiendo como alguien puede comprar un pack de lavandería, como si no fuese lo suficientemente aburrido en la vida real.😅
(TS4) I noticed with my alien baby using cloth diapers, when she’d get a diaper change, the soiled diaper would add the fragrance effect to the dirty clothes in the hamper. None of the other babies (non alien) did that, even when also using cloth diapers with them too. 😅
is that TS2 costmes ? 3:50
hi
hello ❤️
the sims 4 is the winner
The Sims 4 didn't win for me because it had to be added into a separate pack. Anyone who supports all this separation into different packs are sellouts.
Preach
I disagree, the details of 4 beat 3. We have to be honest.
Originally the laundry did come in its own separate pack in The Sims. 3 and then it was later added in Sims 3 ambition.
I would be fine with its own pack. I just wish they had added ironing.
The sims 4
Sims 4 wins
sims 3 . so dumb sims 4 easily the winner
Did you know in the archives in sims 2 theres a mechanic who is similar of laundry but was cuted by unknown motives
The sims 4 would win for me if not for the CONSTANT bugs that render this pack unusable for me. The laundry tub and machine never clean the clothes, the clothesline makes clothes dirty again, etc.
I dont like how Sims 4 too much options just do laundry only. I prefer sims 3 is simple
I mean the wash tub is totally optional, so I don’t really see the issue
Laundry Day, Bust the Dust, and Nifty Knitting could’ve been merged into a single expansion pack. Laundry and knitting focus on clothes and laundry and dust focus on cleanliness.
Oh god SIMS 3 its so UGLY that makes me embarrassed 😅
With the right CC Sims 3 could look beautiful, however I do agree that vanilla Sims look very ugly, I just don't find them so hideous that the entire game sucks.
totally agree
even the noise , cant say speaking is revolting
2:04 what did she throw in with it?
i think it's a special scented card that dissolves with water leaving a pretty smell
Laundry sheet
