Crazy to see how much corner cutting and lack of effort is put into the later games of the series, you can tell the sims 2 really came out during a time when developers cared more about making a good game instead of appeasing their corporate overlords
I've played 2 most of all. Played 3 briefly. Within the last year I've gotten into it again and had lost my games so I've spent the last few months buying Sims 2 and every expansion and 3 and every expansion. Didn't intend to buy 4 until someone after I tried 3 with all the EPs, but I work at a second hand store and Sims 4 and 3 expansions came in and the perspn pricing them bundled and put like $10 on it, so best believe I got it. No way I'm passing that up when one game alone can cost more than that.
I have a few things to say about The Sims 3, in the Base Game (Unpatched) you DID Actually need the Ingredients to cook food. which is the reason why your Fridge started with a few Ingredients already, it was only later that you could pay from the Fridge. also. you can Double Click the items in the Grocery Store (Shopping Centre to some) to add them that way
If I could design the perfect combo, I'd have being able to go to the grocery store like in Sims 2, with all the animation details, with Sims 3 and 4's ability to purchase individual items, Sim's 4's list of recipes and Sims 3's option to shop by recipe. I'd have Sims 4's stalls as well.
$26 I think. But then again, even if you bought them outright, groceries were $600! And not to mention, Sims 2 highly valued the education career, because the way we talk about teachers don't get paid enough, but in Sims 2, the education career track I believe had one of the highest payouts overall (judging based on not just how much you earned per day but rather per week like in real life when people get paid every week or two.)
My favorite thing was going in a car and driving to the grocery store in the sims 3. I have no idea why maybe because I was a kid with imagination. But that was fun for me.
Super interesting to see how they re-added the charge per meal after S2. Also, Sims 2 has an option for fresh produce as well. With Open for Business and Seasons, a Sim could grow fruit and vegetables and go fishing and eventually open a store selling their harvest and fish. Other sims could buy the produce, store it in their fridge and use it in their cooking. Different fish will add new meals to cook. Meals cooked from the fridge with stocked fresh produce is perceived as more satisfying.
all i could think for the sims 1 with her baking was how tf you stick a bowl into fire then reach in with bare hands to get a whole ass cake out- lmao ik it wasnt as detailed but still
to make a perfet sims game... take the "good convenience UI of Sims 4 and some shortcuts they have and Put int into Sims 2" and you got yourself a good Sims game there
I am so happy that people complimenting The Sims 2! I grew up on that game, and Sims 3 was a so so, there were differences. But Sims 4 literally made me sad then angry. Such a lot of things lack in general, and only playable with almost all of the packages. For fine details you neef kits. Wth. Cottage Living is one of my best. It is a huge help for the game, and also seasons. But otherwise the graphic. I don't know, it is chunky too thick. Gives you totally fake vibe. I still cannot really measure properly it is so inaccurate. I always build with moocheat and debug items... I need. We need the quality of The Sims 2! Also thank you for this video. I think Sims 1 is better than sims 4 as well. 🤯😂
You know what's crazy is that EA/Maxis could just re-release Sims II on smartphones with some interface tweaks. I'd totally buy it. I know many people who would. Sims III and IV wouldn't work so well; they demand more graphical output, and the original Sims would likely not offer enough detail/gameplay/features for modern audiences, but Sims II is actually abandonware. They could totally release it on Android/iOS and people would snap it up.
I Really Remember That Food That Was Showing Slightly Upsidedown That I Saw Realistic Now I'm Seeing This Game It Feels Like It Wasn't A Normal Game And I Feel Born In A Different Dimension
I would like: Farmer's Markets from Sims 1; the interior of the stores, the little details on the doors and the registers, the delivery options, and the animations from Sims 2; the open-world and the Fast and Furious driving style from Sims 3; and the graphics and choices from Sims 4
In Sims 1 if you have no money then the fridge will appear empty if your sim tries to make food and opens the door, and then you get a popup saying you have no money. Interestingly if you have say $10, the fridge will appear empty if your sim tries to serve food (which costs $20) but will appear full of food if your sim tries to have a snack (only $5 so they can afford it).
You showed part of this in cooking. They actually get groceries in The Sims 2. $600 is a lot if you're living by yourself, but this is The Sims, everything's expensive. I like how she brought her shopping basket with her, straight to the fridge. It's odd that there's no parking lot. kim selling fish in the wharf. I feel like the grocery system could have more potential, but they just made it simpler in the later games.
Each game has its charm and each has something the other doesn't. Let's all just stop this whole "yeah but sims 2 was better" we get it, at the end of the day we are all simers 💀 I personally prefer the 3rd cause of the open world that makes it more lively tho I know it's glitchy, but playable.

@@kaylapounds1359 I’m actually a teacher so I know this very well 😂😅😃🙂🙁☹️😞
Sims 1 girl has a nice voice
Ugh i wish we had cars in Sims 4. I miss that most
Same ❤️
My favorite thing was going in a car and driving to the grocery store in the sims 3. I have no idea why maybe because I was a kid with imagination. But that was fun for me.
This was a really well-done video. Awesome job. And nostalgic!
Thank you so much dear! ❤
I love the grocery store music in TS3!❤ cute
You can also buy other things at the grocery store, like bubbles and candles.
I’m so addicted to this channel!! The nostalgia is real lol
Thank you so much for watching dear! ❤️❤️
I remember there is a market stall in the sims 3 and you can sell some stuff too, but you have to buy the pack from the sims store 😮💨
В Sims 3 можно еще сдавать овощи и фрукты в комиссионный магазин. Там за несколько дней их продадут по более выгодной цене :-)
I liked the basket from Sims 2 but the shopping paper bag from Sims 4 not so much
Why? The paper bag makes more sense than stealing a shopping basket.
Getting to the grocery stores in the sims 3 is taking me out 😂
Why are the pomegranates so expensive
I was shocked haha
Oh my, I forgot all about this small details that made the 2 Sims the best
It's so nostalgic seeing the original sims.. lol. SOOOOO MANY hours spend as a kid on my computer.
Everyone knows that the sims 4 fell very, very short
the sims 2 >>
Super interesting to see how they re-added the charge per meal after S2.
Also, Sims 2 has an option for fresh produce as well. With Open for Business and Seasons, a Sim could grow fruit and vegetables and go fishing and eventually open a store selling their harvest and fish. Other sims could buy the produce, store it in their fridge and use it in their cooking. Different fish will add new meals to cook. Meals cooked from the fridge with stocked fresh produce is perceived as more satisfying.
Sims 1 was so whimsical and cozy. Miss it
In The sims 3 the Sims drive like Mad People 😂😂😂😂😂
all i could think for the sims 1 with her baking was how tf you stick a bowl into fire then reach in with bare hands to get a whole ass cake out- lmao ik it wasnt as detailed but still
I don't know but somehow the graphics from the Sims 3 looks more similar to the Sims then Sims 2
Your videos are so cool! I love how detailed and informative are leaving you with no questions. You've thought to include everything!
Wow! Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like my videos! ❤ ❤
to make a perfet sims game... take the "good convenience UI of Sims 4 and some shortcuts they have and Put int into Sims 2"
and you got yourself a good Sims game there
Imagine ordering Uber eats and the delivery guy walks inside the house! 😅
Between you and Red Plumbob I'm discovering so much about these games I never realized. People like you are awesome!
Thank you so much dear! ❤ ❤
Thank you so much for your comment dear! ❤️❤️
Two crazy things about Sims 3:
1. Speed they drive their cars with
2. Horse galloping in the town
The sims 2 more emotional, interaction , action , i remembered when romeo cheated on juliet, the whole familys get angry 😂, and start to fight
I love these keep going !🤍🧟☀️
Thank you so much! ❤❤
No clue why but I’m addicted to these videos
That hair flip at 4:33 is golden. That type of detail is highly missed in TS4.
Atleast point I’m just going to play the sims 2 only 🤣 it’s so much details!!
I can't believe Noah Kane from Harjo household & Tai Lum from Presscott household in this Groceries episode 👏
Thank you so much for sharing that! ❤️
Sims 2 wins
The Sims 2 remains superior as per usual
I miss cars so much in the sims 4
Idk why .. I love the sims 2 Vmuch
Sims 2 did it the best, follwed by Sims 1. Also, someone's horse got out in that one Sims 3 scene in this video.
Its kinda difficult to understand why they didnt copy and combine some features from the sims 2
Each game has its charm and each has something the other doesn't. Let's all just stop this whole "yeah but sims 2 was better" we get it, at the end of the day we are all simers 💀 I personally prefer the 3rd cause of the open world that makes it more lively tho I know it's glitchy, but playable.
Sims 2 and 3 would be the best blend! (I play the Sims 3 more because I like the Create-A-Style tool.)
Sims 2 is superior!!!
