Daniel has always been one of the Christan guitarists that I have followed and looked up to. From his faith, tone, and gear throughout the years, he has influenced many. I have also followed Jack Parker for many years and never realized he originally played with Chris. Thank you so much!
It’s great to hear you interview this guy. I’ve been listening to what he has done for years now. You don’t have to be know as super shredder just be known for tone and how to work the tools under your feet. And wow Daniel slays at that! Great job!
Many of the guys you have interviewed have been very cool and appreciative of being on the show but Daniel takes the cake. Probably the nicest guy on the planet. Chris Tomlin does huge shows so being the guitar player in his band, especially as a high school kid, had to be a thrill. Also, 3 pretty cool guitars and not the same old stuff, either. Enjoyed this one a lot!
Wow, so excited to see this. As a guitarist in contemporary worship there aren't too many I've looked up to, and worked up parts by, more than Daniel. Such an original, creative player. Chris Tomlin is blessed to have him and we're blessed to have both of them. Thank you Daniel! Thank you Truetone, another fine episode!!
Great as usual. Interesting that he's not one of the multi-fx/modeling/profiling guys. Love it that he constantly tweaks his delay and verb levels on the fly. I know there has to be a degree of precision on a gig like that in terms of bpms for certain songs, but he seems to stay organic and in touch in real time.
I've been a fan of Daniel for a long time. I remember watching his original gear rundown video, and every time I've gotten to see him play has been inspiring. Such a solid player, and a cool guy!
Zac this stuff is pure gold , i had to watch this twice to process how nice this guy is , including the incredible talent , you are masterful at never getting in the way of these artists telling their stories
I'm late to the party on discovering this series but it's funny because I'm watching them in reverse order. Will McFarlane is who turned me on to the Fxengineering Mirage. He spoke about it in a few clinics he did back in 2008-2010. Three player friends of mine have bought them as well after trying out my spare. They're amazing especially for single coils and bright guitars.
I usually only watch this series for the studio sessions , chicken picken guys, but its nice to here from someone on the other spectrum of the music I play for church
Thanks Zac. So cool! I've seen them in Daniel Lanois articles about using them on tracks. Love the show. Never miss an episode and regularly refer to the gear conversations to try to keep my gear in check. aka "If Rob McNelly only has this many gain pedals on his board..." You get the idea. Thanks again Zac.
Love this guy. First saw Daniel when he had LONG hair and played with CT at the Santa Barbara Bowl. I wasn't a big fan at that time and saw CT as "boring", not rockish enough. WOW was I convicted that night and moved beyond words can say in receiving Jesus Christ. Louie Giglio was also there and talked about the Laminin molecule (shaped like a Cross). Blown away ever since and then became a huge fan of Travis Nunn (drummer), so moved that I became a guitarist for our church worship band and still to this day. Since that fateful night, I have seen CT 3 times, once with our twin boys in Irving, CA and they too were blown away and received Christ. Both now play the drums and bass guitar. Wife sings. Thank you Chris Tomlin, Daniel and Travis.
Thank you Zac for another excellent interview.I hadn't heard of Daniel but I will sure look into him further. On another point i am trying to locate a Truetone t shirt do they exist and where can I purchase one ? Thanks as always ... Graham
Daniel I have so appreciated your guitar work over the many years of playing with Chris. I have seen you using the Tele more than the Les Paul these days. Is that a stock Tele or does it have custom pickups? It sounds incredible.

He was a fantastic guest! Zac

You are so welcome. He is a great guy, and I love any player that plays for the song. Zac

We try not to get in ruts and felt like this show was a totally new path to tread. Daniel is an extremely kind and gracious person. Zac

Ron, you are so welcome and thank you for watching. Zac
I love how Daniel admits he's not a shredder, and that connected with me so much!

Daniel is such a great role model for worship guitarists.
Agreed. Zac

It is a nice compressor. Make sure and watch the John Leventhal episode. Zac
You guys should do Jody Davis of newsboys. He builds his own guitars also. Would be awesome
I usually only watch this series for the studio sessions , chicken picken guys, but its nice to here from someone on the other spectrum of the music I play for church
We love the chicken pickers too but strive to show a variety of players. Zac
Ok, can anyone tell me what that amazing little longhorn twelve string is hanging on the wall?
That is a Jerry Jones octave 12-string. Zac
Thanks Zac. So cool! I've seen them in Daniel Lanois articles about using them on tracks.

They are cool instruments. Thank you so much for "never missing an episode." It is guys like you that help us keep the show going. Zac

That is a great testimony. Zac
Awesome interview. Great to hear from a worship guitarist. Hehe and no Gretsch in sight! Is that even possible? 😉
