Thank you for talking about FATE. I think every cat parents should know about it and be prepared. When it happened to my cat, within 15 min, I was given the hardest choice of my life. I refused to put him down, due to his old age, vet didn’t bother to do any treatment, just gave us pain killer and sent him home to die. My baby is a fighter, more than 1 year later, he’s stronger than ever. This is his birthday, he’s sweet 16 now!
So happy to hear your sweet boy is doing well! What did you give him after leaving the vet? Did you try any homeopathic treatments? I haven't had this happen, but want to be informed and prepared.
OMG!!! Im a little shocked that he didn’t at least give you a blood thinner for him. Very inexpensive and few side effects. You may want a second opinion as i credit the meds for keeping my baby from developing another clot. My Gary was 11. We also wanted to give him a chance. 18 months later he’s alive and well. He was diagnosed and treated at the esteemed vetrinary school,University of California Davis. He was given a blood thinner generic Plavix and pain meds. We brought him back to the clinic a week later to be screened for heart disease. The takeaway is don’t jump into euthanasia if you can get decent pain control. More cats do survive than vets realize. He was one of the rare cases that did not have underlying heart issues.
How soon was he treated? My Cat was treated a few days into this ( She was treated earlier when signs first appeared but was treated for the incorrect thing ) Did your cat regain his legs? My cat has lost both back legs now and we are giving her blood thinning meds. I hope she makes a full recovery though.
Thanks for sharing. Your story fills me with high hope. My cat has been through this 2 weeks ago. He is improving. We can feel pulse in both legs but they are still weak to walk. I really respect his fighting spirit. I’m hopeful that he will continue to recover and live with us as long as possible.
I’m so excited for you! My baby cat Misty survived too! And I completely thank God over and over for that, being I believe God truly healed her in her case being there was a factor of neglect involved of her that I was not fully aware of. I continue to pray for her and am so there for her now and always will be.
😪 Rest in Heaven, Frisky, March 1999 to April 2003. I was doing dishes the night before Easter, and heard a loud plop to the floor. Then came the loud yowling that I'd never heard in my life. I picked him up. He was incontinent, and couldn't use the back half of his body. My vet is the local 24 hour animal hospital 3 miles away, so I didn't call, I grabbed Frisky, put him in his carrier, and went. The techs ran Frisky in the back, did CPR on him, but he was gone. It was 15 MINUTES from when Frisky collapsed to when he died. 21 1/2 years later, and I'm crying 😢, writing this. It was called Saddle Thrombosis then.
I lost my baby this February. Still don’t know the cause. Vet said he had jaundice and anaemia but could this disease be the reason of his jaundice and anaemia?
@@suhanianand7231Jaundice is a liver problem. Nothing to do with the heart or circulation. Anemia is not enough iron. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Truly I am. I lost my cat to kidney failure 2 years ago. I know how painful it is to lose your cat to a health problem. It is strange that they didn't treat your cat with 2 things that I find can be treated but that is only my opinion I could be wrong.
This just happened to my best friend chuckie this morning. I’m so sad that he was in so much discomfort, it was heartbreaking. My condolences to everyone that lost a friend this way!
My baby boy is going through this. He was diagnosed with Dilated Cardio Myopathy over a year ago. He is now in the stages of heart Failure and had his first blood clot in his right front leg. He didn’t cry about it at all, It went numb and he started walking on ankle one morning which is why I realized he was in pain. He spent a couple of days in the hospital and received oxygen, pain meds, and aspirin and Plavix. He’s now using his legs but still limping and they haven’t gone cold (or dead). I’ve work from home so I have the opportunity to take close attentive care of him. It hurts to see him happy and playful one week and suffering the next. He’s 11 years old. NO thanks to Racheal Ray and Blue Baffalo dry cat food! ALWAYS stick meats and canned meat with better ingredients
So sorry to hear. Im currently dealing with this now what were your cats symptoms of heart failure? Mines back legs are limp, he's eating and peeing but seems like he lost his meow. Idk if its heart failure or disease
We lost our 3-year-old Seal Point Siamese on Saturday Morning. His personality had changed suddenly, and he was unable to move his hind legs. We had to put him down 2 hours after we found him like this. I miss him so much. He was everything right in this world. Animals are innocent, and he was a lover. Neptunium you are forever in our hearts. Plus, you made your daddy LOVE cats!!! Thanks Bubba!
We had 2 cats that had it happen. 1 lived 2 months. The other was treated immediately and lived 2 more years. Both were screaming in pain. Please get them to the emergency vet immediately.
What happens if it's the middle of the night? I have a 9 year old ginger male named Tigger. I want to be prepared, just in case. Hope that I don't have to rush for help.
Look for your local vet emergency room. They open 24/7. It happened to two of our cats, both times we were able to get treated right away. I drove while my husband call the vet to give them a heads up. You can also ask doc to prescribe pain killer to keep in the fridge, whenever it happens, give your cat the pain killer to his gums while will work almost right away then drive your baby to the emergency room.
It happened to my Boots. It was horrible to watch him suffering. With the advice of our veterinarian we had to put him to sleep. We are still in shock and pain. Thank you doc for providing all the info about this ailment.
You have my condolences ❤ This happened to us just 2 days ago, we're still in shock... it's so sudden, one second your cat is fine, the next they're in pain and you don't understand why... we thought it was a bug bite, but when the vet told us it was neurological... 😢 Poor baby spent a night there for tests and when the vet explained what it was in the morning and we saw our cutie lost and terrified we immediately agreed to end her suffering 😢💔 It's so painful, loosing a pet who's been in your life forever... but I have never been so glad that putting them to sleep is an option, because I could not stand to watch her suffer even a few more moments 💔💔💔
That just happened to my cat a few days ago😞 his name was boots as well. I didn’t know what was wrong with him, but now I know. May he RIP. Sorry about your boots ❤
My wife and I just lost our beautiful boy Olly to this this this morning. He would have been 7 soon. Prayers for everyone out there whose pets have had this happen. And thank you, Doctor, for helping provide us all some closure. 🙏🏻
I just lost my beloved BSH silver taby to FATE 24h ago. The blood cloth totally blocked all of the blood circulation to the legs. After 9h in the hospital, he passes away. He didn't break a sound, he even pushed his head against mine while he was in huge agony. I cannot comprehend how this happened, he was extremely strong, in the same day he was doing pull ups with his front legs only. He obviously had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, but no one knew.
Lost my boy, Mr. Data, he was 12. Best cat ever, never scratched furniture, rare late night zoomies, never any problems. Then one day around 5am, he was howling, couldn't move his legs, could only crawl. ER vet. I had him put down about an hour and a half later (i remember my phone alarm going off). I miss him every day.
My grandfather Holistic veterinarian he had a lot of success with using tumeric For blood clots and Hawthorn Berry to regulate and strengthen the heart works in humans as well
This happened to my son’s Siamese back in 2010. I thought he injured his leg because he wasn’t walking normally on Thanksgiving morning, I called the Vet & he told me to give him 1/2 an Aspirin but he wouldn’t meet me at the office & no local emergency Vet at that time. By Friday morning, he couldn’t walk at all & ended up paralyzed in his hind legs. He also couldn’t pee or poop on his own. We loved that cat so much & miss him terribly. 😢
I had 2 cats, a year apart, fall to the ground, yowling, flopping from side to side. I have no idea if their back legs were paralyzed. They just howled, howled, and flopped side to side, twisting in excruciating pain. One I knew had an enlarged heart. Rushed her to the nearest vet, frantically screamed my cat is having a heart attack, and they handed me a dead cat and a $500 bill. Then another a year later, same thing. This time a male. I sat with him praying he would die. He went much more quickly, and I'm glad I didn't rush him to the vet. He wouldn't have survived the trip. It's a sound you'll neverrr forget. I miss them both. 😢😢 Been giving my cats taurine daily ever since.
i just wanted to share as well. My kitten of 6 months had FATE yesterday. We rushed him into the hospital almos immediately when we saw that his legs were limping. It was an extremely rare case for his age. My family were in complete denial that he had to be put down. It was the most sudden and upsetting moment.
Wish more veterinarians today were like you. Funny story my medical doctor and friend who unfortunately has passed away always told me he wished he would've become a veterinarian instead of a medical doctor.
Your beautiful kitty ‘patient’ is not nearly as lovable as your precious Tula, but another great video … have not heard of FATE before this. Thanks for the alternative suggestions too. 👍
Thank you for this video. It's very informative and I can see that you care very much as your emotions show through. I lost my beautiful 7 year old boy to this one month ago. It happened quite suddenly as he was fine a few minutes before, then I went upstairs and saw him panting, then realised he couldn't use his back legs. I rushed him to the emergency vet and they diagnosed him with this. He never miaowed in pain, but I heard him miaowing when they were testing him. The vet said he was in pain and gave him some methadone. He already had a mild heart murmur which was now a grade four and she didn't think that he would survive the treatment. I was desperate to keep him alive, but I didn't want him to die without me being there. I then had to make the most difficult and horrible decision I've ever made, which was to euthanase him. He died with me holding and kissing him. I'm beyond devastated. I've mixed feelings after reading the comments here, as some say their cats survive and others have made the same heartbreaking decision I made. I have other cats, and we're all missing him, especially one of my cats, who is 17, as they were best friends. There's such a hole in my life right now. I'd never heard of this condition until the night he was diagnosed with it. Life is never the same again after losing one of your companions.
Condolences to everyone else that has lost their furry ones and watching this. It happened so suddenly and took him and us by a painful surprise. We had our boy just over two years and whilst he was over 18 years old he fooled us otherwise acting like a young boy. It’s such a terrible choice to have to make to end the suffering. Wishing you all and your furry friends peace
This happened to my 9 year old tabby on Christmas Eve, as we were driving on snowy roads to the closest open vet an hour away he passed 😔 very scary and traumatic first way to lose a pet, but I’m glad he’s no longer suffering 💔
I lost my cat (Obi), this Monday from this, and he was only 5 yrs old 😢 It was so unexpected, I still haven’t processed it. I came home and gave him grass ( it was his favorite), he just sniffed it and turned around. His back legs were slippery and within 10 seconds he completely lost control of his legs and started crying with heavy breathing. I panicked, and rushed him to the emergency within 30 minutes. When arrived he was throwing blood, popping, and gasping for air. I ran like crazy, ugly crying and begging them to save my baby. They told me that we had to put him down, he was already in coma!!! How?? It was impossible, he was fine 1 hour ago!! I was in complete shock and denial. I could never put him down!!Eventually the vet came and gave me the saddest news.. he’s heart had stopped beating 😭💔 I always took good care of him, bought him the best food. He was our precious baby, and our lives are so empty without him 😢😢 Hugs for everyone who has been through this pain🖤
I am so sorry for your loss. We just lost our ~15 year old Pixie cat last Saturday. We weren't expecting that either. My hubby and I are walking in a fog of denial right now....
I lost my boy Mika two days ago, he was almost 9 years old. I am so devastating. I didn't know Maine Coon is prone to have heart disease. When the vet told me, he already had blood clots on the back legs, difficult breathing and motionless. We was struggling of what to do and we love him so much. In the end we decided to put him to sleep so no more suffering for him, it was the most hardest thing we have ever made. I am very very upset and still question myself if this was the right thing to do for him....I miss him so so much.
How about NATTOKINASE??? I have highlipoproteinA (very thick blood prone to clotting) and i take nattokinase every night before bed. It is a natural clot DISSOLVER.
I just lost my cat yesterday to this. We had to euthanize. We are just glad we were home and woke up when we heard him crying. We didn’t know he was in pain, we knew something was wrong but when we found him he was soaked with urine and poo and had spilt his water bowl all over him trying to scoot out of confusion. He was only 4 years old. They said it was hereditary and that treatment was expensive, not guaranteed and he would be in pain all the time. We had to do what was best for everyone. We are heartbroken and our house feels empty with out him. I had never even heard of this, now i know and want to have all my remaining baby’s screened for signs. Had we found this early before the clot we might have been able to save him.
so sorry about your cat. I know the feeling, we just lost our little alex on sunday to this too. same exact thing except we weren't home and came home to him dragging himself in pain everywhere. took him to emergency and they told us the same thing. The house isn't the same without him and his brother misses him so much. Taking him to get checked out as I don't want to see it happen again!
I lost my Blackie to this last December it was horrific, I had to put him to sleep. I just couldn't let him be in that much pain. The vet said his legs were dying and that was what was so painful. The hospital told me that it would be a long, expensive treatment that wouldn't necessarily get better.
My cat survived the first attack. He was paralysed from waist down but we were giving him the acylpyrin treatment and initially he was making progress, but after a week it went worse and worse. He started to have breathing difficulties, then an abscess developed on top of his head and burst overnight, so there was blood everywhere. Then his front paw started to show signs of paralysis as well, and he couldn't breath anymore. Unfortunately, we had to put him sleep. There was nothing I could do to help him.
I just lost one of my cats due to this I’m very heartbroken was told there’s nothing we can do this video helps bring me some more information & closure I just wish there’s something we could have done this is one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever been through 😢
With you. Our 11 year old Balinese (Puddles) was rushed to the vet yesterday for this condition. We buried him yesterday. Like losing a child. Such heartbreak 💔 my condolences 💐
Our cat got this a few days ago, but unfortunately it happened in her brain... poor baby was just fine one second, purring on the couch, then suddenly cried and jumped then started spinning and meowing... we got to the vet and after a night she was blind, panicked and in pain so we had to end her suffering 😢 It's a horrible disease and it's so sudden... if anyone here has had the same issue, you have my compassion, because it's such a painful experience, having to end your cat's life so they can feel peace 😭💔 I miss her terribly, but seeing her so lost and in pain was unbearable, so in a way I am thankful that she is not suffering anymore 😢❤
My beautiful Olive just had this happen 4 days ago. She was 11 years old and the sweetest cat. She was the only one of my 3 that would let me hold her like a baby and she'd sleep in my arms. She'd always come every time I called to her. I couldn't understand what happened to her when she started gasping, couldn't walk and was yelping. I thought she had had a stroke because she lost bowel/bladder control. We just picked her up and took her to the emergency vet clinic 10 minutes away. They took her right back and within 20 minutes she was euthanized because I didn't want her to suffer. I had never heard of FATE before then. I already miss her so much and it happened so suddenly that I'm just now grasping that she's gone. Thank you for the video.
We are going through this now. July 2022 he was diagnosed with a low degree heart murmur and it wasn't implied that we needed to do anything but keep an eye on it. Late Friday night iggy was unable to use his back leg, raced to the emergency vets. Next day circulation was coming back. Sunday he was finally eating and moving around pretty well, no coldness and pads are normal again. Echo today and praying for more time. He's so young, 4 in August.
We lost our beautiful boy this morning. It was so sad seeing him in pain. We had to have him put to sleep. It just happened so fast. The night before he came to bed as normal but wasn't his normal weird self, very lethargic. In the morning he was just yowling really loud, louder than he usually does. Heartbreaking
I lost my dear friend Gizmo to this , she was in profound agony and it just broke my heart . I can’t conceive a more hellish way for such a kind creature to pass . Thanks very much for this video , it was very informative.
My lab mix just came down with something awful. Bumps on back. Some redness on lower stomach and a lot of licking. Found you while researching and haven't looked back.
I just lost my cat Lion-O twelve hours ago to this. He was 9 years old and had a thyroid issue and had already suffered from pandoras syndrome he had been treated for. They did say he had a heart murmur but we thought treatment of the thyroid it would subside. Last night he suddenly threw up. He then got on the couch and started panting. We went and got the kennel and noticed his back legs weren’t working. We rushed him to the hospital and they said he was likely in heart failure and had FATE. They tested and confirmed for fate and gave him methadone for pain and oxygen. Due to monetary constraints and the expensive and likely uncertain and unlikely survival rate we decided to put him to sleep. We put on peaceful massage music and turned the lights low and held him as he went peacefully. I had hand raised this kitten so it was shocking and devastating. I wish I would have known to give aspirin and taken him home to try and survive with pain meds. I miss him so much and regret putting him down. He was such a sweet boy.
I Sincerely feel All your pain, all you that have been through. I loved my baby and he loved me back so so so much. He brought so so much JOY and happiness. He left a huge whole in our lifes for life. We had to put him down last week due to this issue discussed in the video. To all of you that have been through this, may God heal your hearts
I took my cat today to the Vet and for now he dosen't have blood cloth jet. But hi have the humming in he's heart and we need to take him to a specialist. I'm so thankful for this video.
we are currently going through this with our cat. Suddenly she couldn't use her hind legs and even her tail is affected. Took her to an emergency vet yesterday. Decided not to put her through all the rigorous and expensive testing and brought her home to care for her. She will see her vet on Thursday where we will probably make the decision to let her go if this hasn't improved. I love her dearly but won't let her suffer. Zeva is her name and she is almost 10 years old. Never saw this coming. My cats usually live from 12 - 16 yrs old
Our 17 year old went through this last night but ended up being able to walk in the morning. One leg was affected. The vet gave her sub q fluids and a narcotic but did NOT give her a blood thinner. I did enquire about it. I will call to find out why a blood thinner wasn't given or even discussed. I was told the blood clot could move to veins that fork together and cause other issues.
😢 We just lost our Alex to this on Sunday, he was only 4 years old. RIP little buddy. My daughters and I were crushed to lose him. Very good explanation of this disease. Very Informative. Wish I had known about this sooner. Subscriber to the channel. I also hope no one else has to see their cat go through this.
Aside from your good veterinary advice, I love watching your pets especially Murray, the cuddly fluffy big boy. I wish I could hold him myself even though I know cats generally decide when they should be touched.
My 11 year old Balinese had to be rushed to the vet yesterday over this condition. He could not move his back legs whatsoever. He did not come out of there alive. So heartbroken over it 😢
Oh doctor, my cat is on her way to Pet emergency within the hour for what I believe could be this very thing. I believe it's time for me to say goodbye. It's strange how I found this. She's about 5 yrs old. She lived outside for four years Very feral but not now. I've grown so close to her. I'm taking care of her babies and grandbabies. Thank goodness everyone is spay and neutered. But losing her...well😔💜
You need to let all of those who you sold them to about this, as I was told that it comes from the mother and spreads down the lines. They should not be breeding them. I hope you had a heart scan on them before selling them.
This what most definitely and likely what my poor kitty had when my dad saw him this morning and rush him to the vet with my parents so we had to put him down and out of misery and what's worst is that he never showed any of the signs that he had it as he was walking and acting normally how he acted with his old age before it occurred, so it was so sudden that it happened to him and i had no idea that this existed until now
7 months ago, our cat Porkchop got Fate. Didn't have heart failure. Just numb legs. So you're telling me he could still be alive? Yes, I know he would pass soon now. But we still would have had those months with him!
My vet didn't give an option she said less than 25 percent chance of survival so he was put to sleep. From him crying to getting to vet to him being put to sleep maybe 45 minutes. I'm still devastated 4 days later. I'm wondering if a good diet might have made a difference. He was overweight but i didn't think anything of it. I do wish I would have had a treatment option he was worth any amount of money.
Dr Linus Pauling did studies involving vitamin C , L-Lysine, and L-proline. It was said to clean out arteries and help with heart disease. How effective would this be for cats and dogs?
I have a very old cat, kidney disease; I don't want to take her to the vet anymore because she is terrified and frail, and i'd rather her last days/months be comfortable. I hope she will die in her sleep; no vets close by, and $400 to get one to come to the house for euthanasia. I'm giving her CBD oil once a day right now; she eats just enough. Any tips or info much appreciated...
I lost my beloved fur baby girl to this 1 week ago. I miss her so much. She's my life, my everything, the meaning of my life. Now my life is so meaningless.
i know our pain, i lost my cat Murphy this week, was 12, i am heartbroken, tok him to the vet said he had congestive heart disease, brought him home and was crying out in pain, was on way back to vet and he died on way, i will never forget the stress he was in and the crys, will haunt me forever, you start to think could i have done more, i just last my sister in march so murphy was a great comfort, i feel so broken, every morning he would sit with me on his own chair at the breatfast table and just loved to be near me, i will never get over this loss,so i understand how you feel, today agin i just sit and cry.
@@chrismullan7191 I'm so sorry for your loss. I won't tell you time will heal or anything like that, because I know it doesn't. My baby girl's passing took away all my emotions except sadness. I'm counting down to the day I meet her again in heaven. It's really tough...I know no words can console your loss. Hugsss xxx
3/02/23 my 12 yr old kitty (yo-yo ) started CKD meds Calcitrol 200mg & Benazepril 5mg. 3/27/23 Then kitty appeared depressed & in active & food appetite decreased, weight loss , breathing oddly at 30 breathes per minute & trip to vet ended in thoracentesis hospital stay, findings of Heart Failure & HCM & meds Pimobendan, Lasix, Amlodipine is treatment. Next step is vet visit 4/3/23 X-ray the pleural cavity (pleural Effusion). Vet didn’t mentioned rechecking the heart, said no cure only managed.
@@pattycheeze sadly , no. I had to let my yo-yo go on may 13,2023. It was so awful to euthanize . My yo-yo looked so normal but his breathing was worsening due to fluid in pleural , after removing fluid twice , my vet advised no more tries. 😔. Heart Failure is incurable & the meds were to harsh on the kidneys. Do research because intervention options can be very harsh to our pets and cause more stress for pets.
@@laurafloyd5177 i lost my special boy this Saturday. I hand raised him after finding him alone at a Tire Discounters in June 2016 at 4-5 weeks old. He threw a blood clot from heart failure and had saddle thrombus and I didnt have time to react. Had to say goodbye at the ER vet. I'm so devastated. He was only 7. I was hoping for a better outcome with yours 😪 So sorry for your loss
I lost my boy Dobby ten years ago at the age of four and a half. He was not diagnosed until after he had passed. I had taken him to his vet and a cat specialist and they didn't catch it. This is a horrible disease that seems to becoming more prevalent.
@@VeterinarySecrets I had read that it tends affect the larger male kittens in the litter and it is more common in litters where the mother is undernourished during pregnancy. Is this true? It started with leg tremors for Dobby and affected his kidneys. Thank you for your condolences.
As always thank you for your honesty and integrity. I wish I had found your channel sooner. Keep posting content like this it may be the difference between just in time and too late.
I just lost my beautiful girl today. Im heartbroken as she seemed perfectly fine in the morning eating, drinking etc then at midday she lost function of her back legs, rushed to the vets and she passed away by 12:45pm.
My car unfortunately is going through this right now but it was 3/4 days of an unsure diagnosis. It all started on a Saturday when I was looking for my cat around the house to find him in the basin or unusual he loves the cold space but what was weird was he wasn’t coming out to see me I found him under a shelf and I managed to carful get him out he didn’t meow or do anything out of the ordinary until he was siting in front of me be crawled back to hide. I was worried I laid next to the shelf on the ground petting him and she was shaking like he was “cold”. I thought made he was coming down with a kitty cold so I brought all his favourite blankets down stairs and made him a spot I though he would like the most a cubby. I picked him up and placed him inside and got him all tucked in he wasn’t in any pain for showing and concerning signs. The next morning he was still in the same spot. So by 1pm I made a call to a vet that I wanted to bring my cat in because this just wasn’t him. We came into the vet he was lethargic and very sad looking not vocal at all and that just wasn’t him! The vet didn’t really have much to say about a prognosis so he was put on Aventi liver because his liver Enzymes were at 209. Anti nausea pills, supplements, an antibiotic to be sure his white blood cell was normal. The vet said he had a heard murmur. Sent us on our way and said if his health declined to bring him back asap. By 8/9 that night he was in pain and lost 70/80 % of function in his legs he could use them but barely and he was in pain. Keep in mind before we left the vet I asked my vet in he was in pain the answer was no because Paddle thrombus wasn’t in his mind yet. So that entire night I’m googling things because now he’s in pain and can’t walk. I take him back first thing in the morning the vet thought he had a tail pull injury which I was actually really pissed off about. Because the second I got home with him I brought him to a room that was fit to take care of him and nothing could hurt him I made a bed on the floor to sleep right beside him and he’ll him. X-ray was done and you guessed in NO tail pull injury. He through up the idea of maybe is a clot but didn’t say much. That is was still probably injury when it was physically impossible as I was caring for him 24/7 if I wasn’t in the room someone else was for 5 mins while I was away. We got sent home with pain medication which by the way did absolutely nothing and was told to come back Wednesday if he made it. So for 3 long days and night I nursed my pore cat with no Definitive answer as to what was going on. He’s been bed bound and I’ve been on edge looking at him every 5 minutes arms reach away from him since Sunday. Little food water is in here and if he looks like he needs anything I bring things to him to figure it out. He messes I clean it up. Wednesday today his appointment rolled around and we get to the vet I cat him out of the kennel and to my surprise he is trying to walk barely but is trying and was the first time in 4 days I saw him actually trying to walk. So I brought up saddle thrombus and he thinks this is what he has more blood work was done but we were sent home. Thinking the clot might be clearing and that we would be referred to a cardiologist for an echocardiogram. I hate how unclear that last few days have been and I have had more help from the internet then a vet.
may i ask how your kitten is? i got home today and my cat can hardly walk but he tries when he really wants something but he mainly just crawls instead of walking. he’s not even a year old and he’s my first cat, im heartbroken that this could be what he’s going through.
my cat tum about 5 month old can't walk properly 😔 i thought he's paralysis we went to the vet several times he didn't have any fever or other sickness but vet doc advised to use calcium and MV but i give him every morning and night after Lunch and dinner but kinda didn't work's 😔 i feel so sad 😭 I hope my cat can walk properly like other's 🐈🙏🏻
Hi! Hoping you can please give me feedback about preventing this from occuring in my cat with HCM ... i want to give Hawthorne supliment but also have been prescribed clopidogrel. Im having difficulty getting a straight answer if i can do both? Maybe with a reduced dosage of clopidogrel if im giving hawthorn and dandelion root too? Pls advise 🙏🙏 i want to reduce this risk as much as possible. My cat is 18, lower platelets and mild anemia with some kidney issues...minimal drugs i believe is most important but also minimal risk for this horrible outcome. Im not sure how high his risk would be. Ty!!
This just happened to my car tonight...in a matter of a hour she went into agony .the vet gave us few choices but we are choosing to try and treat her with heparin infusions..
Please make video for gastro problem and paro virus in cats. My 2 cats died of vomiting, one with blood in vomit in 3 days. Dr said iV infusion is only solution but since stray cats they dont easily allow to injection, iV was impossible. Please inform about any medicine you know to treat this dreadful disease like you share for Cancer I am treating my Cancer with ivermactin and fenben after watching your and Joe tippens video and happy to inform that i am in remission. Its working better than chemo. You are living God on this earth.
I know that same thing happened to my black lab her legs went back wards she was screaming. I was insanely distressed we all were we put her to sleep immediately. I can't deal with animals in pain because they cannot talk. Vets WHERE I LIVE NEVER EVER DIAGNOSE MY PETS. THEY TAKE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WITHOUT CONSCIOUS OF HOW POOR YOU ARE OR HOW SICK YOUR PET IS. THEN TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG. EVERYTIME. I HAD A RABBIT BLEED TO DEATH A MONTH PRIOR SHE HAD AN XRAY FULL BODY 3 POSES. YET DIED OF STONES. I SPENT THOUSANDS ON HER EVERY YEAR FOR 3 YEARS. I LIVE ON $850 A MONTH I HAD A CARE ONE CARD AND A MOM WHO HELPED BUT SHE GETS SAME MONEY I GET. The vets are told how broke we are but who cares they are money hungry at the VCA in Massachusetts.
LOL I think Murray has about had enough of being in your videos. 😂 I see you are very close to have half a million subscribers.. Congratulations Dr. Jones. Thank you for the information. I have 2 cats and feed 4 stray cats.
My biggest concern is cats getting way too many carbs. They are obligate carnivores. When I moved my cat over to a bioidentical cat food which is not beef and chicken it is venison, duck, lamb, and rabbit. My cats health improved dramatically. He is a rescue cat so who knows how he got his heart disease, seizures, murmur, and boderline kidney disease. I was hard pressed to find any food that didn't have carbs in it. I only found a few canned products. Jones will not do raw. I like in my own life the doctors I follow often say you cannot supplement your way to health. Jones has lived through 3 blood clots and the last one with nattokinase. I found a group that suggested it. I researched it and it dissolves them in a way a blood thinner cannot. There is way more to this story but wanted to share something simple cats are predators and obligate carnivores they are not human in way sense or form. They eat meat period. Please try to feed them what they would eat in the wild. Best of luck with all of your babies.
@@jonogren5567 Do you live in the U.S.? Emergency Veterinarian Hospital's are Everywhere. Obviously much more difficulty, as far as travel, if you're in a rural area.
Many Universities have Emergency Vets; in my area we have Purdue University. Be prepared to pay $$$ as just walking through their door is $100.00 minimum
My cat had this but it came on so fast he had to be put to sleep. I wonder if my cats underlying condition Klinefelters, could make this more common. He had no obvious heart problem. Even as being sick his heart was sounding normal.
There is only one wish that my vet.Cat specialist told me is the outcome of a Aortic Thromboemboli is the extreme pain & stress a cat would be suffering also get all steps ready to have it put to sleep ASAPMy cat was at the Vets. about four days prior to this event checks were Ultra sound, Xrays, Blood tests, Urine tests, he had an enlarged heart with a blockage in the Aorta lots of medications igave & then 24 days later the clot went his rear legs ect i raced him to the Vets.6;45 am they gave him pain medication & 20 mins later a big cough brought up blood & water then gave him medication for lung fluid & a little later some other pain relax medication he was in a numb lifeless state sedated till my daughter arrived we spoke to our cat in this state the Vet injected substance & he was euthanasied.Three hours of stress & pain.I should have taken him to a 24 Hr vet & had him put down straight away.I seem to have PTSD over this now been 4weeks.
I think my cat has either stroke or FATE.....but it was caught very early and today she is walking and can eat and drink a little....so she may be one of the lucky ones. she is 19.
My cat is one year old, doesn’t have any heart issues. But yesterday suddenly started limping, we took him to the vet. They said his pulse is low in his hind legs, and lost lots of muscle in his legs. Now he struggling to walk. Been given blood thinner and pain killer :( they said it could be a clot but they don’t know for sure.
@ hi, yes my cat healed, they gave him all sorts of medicine. And we found the medicine made it worse … I checked online and it said that medicine makes the chest area in pain .. but once we stoppped the medicine he got better within a few days
@@MaineCoon-vq7ri Oh fantastic!!! My cat is just on blood thinners and pain killers.. how long did it take for your cat to be able to walk properly again?
My 16 yr old cat has this. Vet prescribed clopidogrel & benazepril. She has a gallop heartbeat. But she’s still having episodes & it’s so awful. Is it typical it continues to happen despite the medicine??? She’s been on these meds for a month now
Thank you for talking about FATE.
Just lost my cat to this an hour ago, didn’t understand and this helps a lot. But the pain will be here for me for awhile. I’ll miss you taco 😢
Your cat also suffer from this disease
If so then plzz tell me
I lost my baby this February.
Truly I am.
Lost our boy to this today. He was deep into heart failure and other issues. We'll miss him terribly.

This happened to us just 2 days ago, we're still in shock... it's so sudden, one second your cat is fine, the next they're in pain and you don't understand why... we thought it was a bug bite, but when the vet told us it was neurological... 😢
Poor baby spent a night there for tests and when the vet explained what it was in the morning and we saw our cutie lost and terrified we immediately agreed to end her suffering 😢💔

Omg I'm so sorry! So young! Poor baby. I'm so sorry for your family and you. 😢
So sorry for your loss 😞🙏

I lost my cat (Obi), this Monday from this, and he was only 5 yrs old 😢
It was so unexpected, I still haven’t processed it. I could never put him down!!Eventually the vet came and gave me the saddest news.. he’s heart had stopped beating 😭💔
I always took good care of him, bought him the best food. He was our precious baby, and our lives are so empty without him 😢😢

I think I'm gonna try this for my kitty and see if it helps.
Our cat got this a few days ago, but unfortunately it happened in her brain... poor baby was just fine one second, purring on the couch, then suddenly cried and jumped then started spinning and meowing... we got to the vet and after a night she was blind, panicked and in pain so we had to end her suffering 😢
It's a horrible disease and it's so sudden... if anyone here has had the same issue, you have my compassion, because it's such a painful experience, having to end your cat's life so they can feel peace 😭💔
I miss her terribly, but seeing her so lost and in pain was unbearable, so in a way I am thankful that she is not suffering anymore 😢❤
That is one giant, beautiful feline you are holding Dr. Jones❣Thank you for your videos!
You're ABSOLUTELY fantastic 💖
We are going through this now. July 2022 he was diagnosed with a low degree heart murmur and it wasn't implied that we needed to do anything but keep an eye on it. Late Friday night iggy was unable to use his back leg, raced to the emergency vets. Next day circulation was coming back. Sunday he was finally eating and moving around pretty well, no coldness and pads are normal again. Echo today and praying for more time. He's so young, 4 in August.
I love that you said you hope it never happens to you or your cat. 💕
My condolences
I Sincerely feel All your pain, all you that have been through. I loved my baby and he loved me back so so so much. He brought so so much JOY and happiness. we are currently going through this with our cat. My cats usually live from 12 - 16 yrs old
You are a beautiful person God bless you doc.

My 4 year old cat died of this 2 weeks ago. Had all the symptoms of hcm and fate happened to unexpected.😢

Hugsss xxx
@@phyllisloh6572 Bless you, thank you for your lovely comment, yes the loss of our furbabies is a pain like no other xx
3/02/23 my 12 yr old kitty (yo-yo ) started CKD meds Calcitrol 200mg & Benazepril 5mg. 3/27/23 Then kitty appeared depressed & in active & food appetite decreased, weight loss , breathing oddly at 30 breathes per minute & trip to vet ended in thoracentesis hospital stay, findings of Heart Failure & HCM & meds Pimobendan, Lasix, Amlodipine is treatment. Next step is vet visit 4/3/23 X-ray the pleural cavity (pleural Effusion). Vet didn’t mentioned rechecking the heart, said no cure only managed.
is he still alive hopefully?
@@pattycheeze thank you very much and sorry for your loss too.
i lost my beloved kitty to this, i miss him so much, sending prayers to all kitties who died this way😔
I lost my boy Dobby ten years ago at the age of four and a half. He was not diagnosed until after he had passed. I had taken him to his vet and a cat specialist and they didn't catch it. This is a horrible disease that seems to becoming more prevalent.
I'm sorry for your loss, I offer my condolences.
Thank you:)
I just lost my beautiful girl today. Im heartbroken as she seemed perfectly fine in the morning eating, drinking etc then at midday she lost function of her back legs, rushed to the vets and she passed away by 12:45pm.
You are wonderful and that big ‘ol kitty is so cute! 😻
Thank you so much! GOD bless
DOCTOR!!! .... PLEASE create a version of your supplements for those pet highly allergic to ALL forms of fowl.

Did your cat survive this? Your situation sounds the same as mine right now
my cat tum about 5 month old can't walk properly 😔 i thought he's paralysis we went to the vet several times he didn't have any fever or other sickness but vet doc advised to use calcium and MV but i give him every morning and night after Lunch and dinner but kinda didn't work's 😔 i feel so sad 😭 I hope my cat can walk properly like other's 🐈🙏🏻
Can dogs get that too
Please inform about any medicine you know to treat this dreadful disease like you share for Cancer
I am treating my Cancer with ivermactin and fenben after watching your and Joe tippens video and happy to inform that i am in remission. Its working better than chemo.
You are living God on this earth.
you are simply put...the very best! thank you for your videos...😽🐈🐕🐎🐖🦙🐁🐿🐤
My beautiful cat died of this last week. She was only 8 and I had never heard of FATE. It is absolutely awful. :(
Good info! Thanks! I use Ubiquinol for heart and muscle health also!
I'm so sorry 😞
Oh my God! Very Evil! There is a special place in Hell prepared for these Bastards!
Thank you doctor
LOL I think Murray has about had enough of being in your videos. 😂 I see you are very close to have half a million subscribers.. Congratulations Dr. Jones. Thank you for the information. I have 2 cats and feed 4 stray cats.
Thanks!
Such a pretty cat
Okay there are alot of video's on using natokinase. But what is the doasage?
I'm thinking this is what happened to my beloved cat. The emergency vet didn't say nothing and only suggested to euthenizing.
Poor thing. How do you find emergency vet. My cat is almost 9. May need it sometime.

Do you live in the U.S.? Emergency Veterinarian Hospital's are Everywhere. Obviously much more difficulty, as far as travel, if you're in a rural area.
@@CherylBerryl thanks. I'm in WA. About 40 minutes from Seattle.
Many Universities have Emergency Vets; in my area we have Purdue University. Be prepared to pay $$$ as just walking through their door is $100.00 minimum
@@A10TOES thanks.
Would you recommend a vet? Because you’re not every state. I will go look in your website.
Thank you for this. I am wondering if you'll cover FIP in cats?
What about using nattokinase and Coq10 to treat FATE?
@@MaineCoon-vq7ri Hi, this has happened to my cat today? Can I ask if your cat recovered? So heartbreaking.
