- Today in our village, we harvest and cook our traditional, natural snack recipe. We harvest Palmyra Sprout from the soil and we cook it using only water and salt.
In Tamil Nadu, we call this palmyra sprout as Panang Kilangu. In our childhood, palmyra sprout is our favorite snack. Today we enjoy it with our joyful memories!

Palm leaves are useful for making huts and the fibre from palm tree used as a rope to tie the hut firmly... If we cut the whole we can use it support to huts otherwise from the young fruit we get a toddy drink (an alcoholic beverage) and also whole fruit is also delicious ....after sometime the fruit turns into seed if we plant the seed palm sprouts will grow from them (This what they are harvesting now)..... Almost each and every part of palm tree is useful for humans especially the village peoples... This is what he is saying

Reminds my Child hood..these are called THEGALU in Telugu..we arrange all these as a pile and cover with dried grass and set up fire.. instead of boiling in water.. We call as THEGALA PAATHARA..this is typical Winter season food..and that white part we call BURRA GUNJU..And the middle white part in THEGA we call as CHANDA MAAMA..lots of memories

Palm tree purpose - for building house roof, from Palm fruit we Prepare health drink( called as Pathaneer as sweet beverage), from pathaneer we prepare Karrupatti( palm jaggery as health properties),
then palm leaf stick for Broomstick product, concrete poles from palm tree etc..
