      We don't know If it's true. After all, she brazenly lied to her AFRICAN customer.
      She showed him a magnified ASIAN's hair & scalp.
      Afro hair is flat. Each strand coils, smaller than an ink pen spring.
      The root is shaped like a fish hook. The scalp is dark brown, not white with pink spots as shown.

    I love her choice of product, she doesn't have something directly for Afro hair, so she picks the next best thing : very hydrating and repair oriented products and it's ultimately what we use on Afro hair! She understands the needs and uses the good tools! It might be a tad below what you need but it's what she has and it proves her skill that she could recognise it without knowing at all about your hair to the point she doubted it was natural at first!

      My point is this…every human have hair. The science to her philosophy is to take care of the scalp. It’s like a plant, with bad soil you get bad results. Using the term “Afro” hair B.S doesn’t mean nothing because if you travel to Southwards from China to the Pacific, there are people with plenty of tight curly, kinky or “Afro” type hair. What do these people use on their hair? Coconut oil, which is native to tropical Asia and Pacific. Your hair aint different. You think it is.

      I would have to disagree. The science of black people hair is different from Asian people. Our hair thrives with oil. We can stand a good detox periodically but it's not damaging as much as she explained to him. The oils in our hair are not a negative thing. Even the structure of our hair and the way it grows is different.

      Oil has always been advertised as a great SEALANT, in the natural-hair-community. What are we sealing? We're sealing in water. Wash hair, leave it damp & seal it with oil. SEAL the WATER with oil. If not, the water will evaporate & leave your hair dry

    • @beebooboo
      @beebooboo 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TwistedLyfofTVthe science of black hair is different because black hair lacks sealed in moisture as the other commenter mentioned. Throw in the fact that you take away the body’s and scalp’s ability to do this naturally via detergent level soaps and shampoos in addition to the excess of oil and hair products and things are hopeless. Ever wonder why “baby hair” of even blacks is much better? You washed away all the good stuff over the years instead of protecting and maintaining it.

    When you go to a barber shop in China to get a haircut, the first step is to manually massage your head while washing your hair. The recliner you sit on is usually a mechanical massage chair, which will perform a mechanical massage on your whole body. In Chongqing, men just get a haircut, which costs about 39 yuan, or about 5.5 US dollars.

    Another reason your scalp might be oily is because curlier hair doesn't allow oil produced in the scalp to travel down the hair shaft as easily as straighter hair does. Straighter hair goes down, curlier hair goes up or out. Its one of the reasons curlier hair doesn't get as greasy as straighter hair.

      @@martinea199 I agree they may not have made it with different hair types in mind, but I feel like the difference wouldn't be too major, just a few tweaks here and there to properly suit afro type hair. I also think the long run effect wouldn't be too bad even for people with afro hair as long as it's done only occasionally. Having the pores unclogged doesn't seem like such a bad thing as long as one has the understanding to do it occasionally just like we know it's not good for our hair to be washed daily. The understanding for the basic hair technicalities is there (though here you can clearly tell bits when her knowledge is lacking about curly/coily hair types, which understandably for her situation) so it would probably just require a few tweaks here and there to suit afro kind hair.

So 1 month ago i bought hair products that had moisturizing effects without oil and stopped using all the oil leave in conditioners. My natural hair texture has improved a lot and it feels healthier and lighter and the curls are coming back. I also stopped wrapping my hair tight or putting it tight little buns because i want an evenly texturized head of hair and i see the difference too. I let my hair down as often as i can. It makes me sad i didnt know what my hair needed for so long..and i spent so much money on the wrong stuff. This was like an ASMR Twix video lol, she lives in Japan and gets those headspa treatments (with the bag of steam and all) on a regular basis. Check out her channel if you just want to watch Japanese spa videos 😊 I had never seen those scalp treatments until her channel but I get the sense they are common across Asia. This whole video was like an ASMR video actually. It was interesting to see a black person do a headspa treatment, I never really stopped to think if these kinds of treatments are adapted for Afro textured hair? Did your hair feel ok after the treatment or did you have to go “fix” it later? Would you do it again? It also looks like she did some gua sha on your scalp (the weird instrument that kind of looked like a hair pick), she was saying she was supposed to run it through the whole scalp. I guess since she has never worked with textured hair before she was just doing the hair on your hairline on your forehead. I think she did a good job though!

    This is such great info! And yes, black hair is different, but our scalps are all the same. This info is important for everyone and I agree that everyone should get this done at least once in their lifetime. I also got a hair type analysis about a year ago which helped me more than I ever could have imagined. My hair is so much healthier now that I know my porosity type for certain (there's the old "drop your hair in water and see how fast it sinks" test which is essentially useless - only hair analysis will let you know for sure). I promise that it's worth the price because it will help you pick the right products in the long run and avoid buying ones that won't work for you. You wouldn't believe the amount of products I'd buy only to never use them and have to throw away because they weighed my hair down and turned it into a greasy mess.

    The technician did a great job cleaning and caring for your hair and scalp. The before image was appeared as such because sweat and oils (sebum and others) cause buildup on the scalp naturally. Quick washes of the hair while barely manipulating the scalp does not properly clean the scalp or pores of the scalp. A good washing would have caused the scalp to appear the same under the microscope. That being said, the service provided was great. Far beyond the wash and conditioning offered in the US. The steam helped to further open the pours. Your scalp was prepped so that it would be able to accept more of the essential oils and waste less. Great job.

    hey bro, since you have African genetics I would look more carefully online as your hair naturally does produce more sebum which is the oily substance. Thank you for saying this!
      You do not treat straight Chinese hair the same as curly African/Black hair. If you are washing your Back hair daily, you are washing it too much.
      If you wash your hair too much (daily), your scalp will produce more oil to replace the oil you are stripping off of your scalp and off of your hair. Your hair needs that oil. You just need to massage your scalp.
      The only reason people with straight hair wash their do much is because they run their hands through their hair all day and it gets oily and the natural oil production makes the hair oily and weighed down (greasy).

    • @TanukiOfficial
      @TanukiOfficial 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @thekalenichannel1812 Hair is no different than a cell phone. If you handle your hair or a cell phone a lot, the oils off your hands will transfer onto your hair or cell phone and make them greasy. Running your hands through your hair also spreads the sebum throughout your hair; therefore, making it greasy.
      From Pantene's website:
      "We all love running a hand through freshly washed hair, but *touching your hair or rubbing your scalp may actually encourage your scalp to increase its sebum production.* By running your hand through your hair, you're also moving the sebum around your hair, which will add to the greasy appearance."
      This is why the old curl and set hairstyles lasted so long without being greasy looking because no one was running their hands through their hair.

    This video provides valuable information. I appreciate the use of ingredients that make sense for hair care. The specialist's insights about oil in the scalp resonate with me. I don't wash my hair the way stylists do at salons, where they deeply clean the cuticles, and this could contribute to oily buildup. A thorough deep cleaning, especially for individuals of African descent, is beneficial for hair health, allowing it to breathe and potentially addressing hair loss concerns before further issues arise.
