After all sorts of trouble, numerous obstacles, endless patience, energy, creativity and talent, you've finally made it! Congrats & fingers crossed for CT!
I really feel your pain. I think my E31 project is actually killing me gradually, a little bit more every week! My E46 325Ci has now a super-annoying intermittent fault on the dreaded K Bus. Anything in the car (which is just about everything in the car) that is connected to the K bus intermittently works or doesn't. Whenever it feels like it, windows don't drop when doors open, windows sometimes drop on their own overnight, indicators work on the car but don't show as working on the cluster, indicators cancel on the car, but show as still operating on the cluster, cluster backlights sometimes don't come on, sometimes don't go off. Central locking sometimes doesn't work, climate control goes completely dead and has to be unplugged to reset, and the most annoying of all, car now doesn't go to sleep so drains the battery overnight. I am seriously contemplating giving up messing about with cars and starting to build model aeroplanes!
@bobfrankish8883 @bobfrankish8883 No don't stop with cars. think of it as model aeroplanes, just a (lot) more complicated and slightly larger :) Regarding your e46 ci. try unplugging the different modules and use the car as normal. if the issues don't persist if a certain module is disconnected it is most likely that module causing the issues. also, the climate control issues and battery drain are often linked to blower regulator. my silver e46 had that issue. Just try 1 by and I'm sure you will get it figured out :)
@@DailyDrivenClasssics Thank you for the reply. I have researched it to death as usual, just putting up with the faults until the weather gets better. I cannot get the car inside because of the E31 so have to work outside, it's 0C today where I live, with another big storm on its' way again. I'm fitting a new battery later, we'll see what effect that has.
I understand your struggles with the cold, here it was -5 today and I'm freezing even inside the garage it's cold. Let the battery disconnected for 24 hours and check the old battery with a multimeter. sometimes random errors occur because of poor battery voltage and if the battery voltage is anywhere below 12v I would suspect that as a culprit
