Yeah, about the size of the map, as a reminder RDR2 map was 75km², so it was bigger but you have to remember that most of the game was played on a much smaller section of the total map, leaving the West state to be explored in the epilogue. So the actual playable area was about 50-60km² AND it was already SO HUGE that we had to travel most of the time either by horse or train. Stalker 2 is gonna be 64km² and all traversal will be ON FOOT. This is insane big when you think about it.
@@nathanjackson9066 For sure, and also not as big as any Minecraft world seed if you think about it. But is it fair to compare Stalker 2's open world with The Long Dark or Minecraft though?
Yes but in Call of Pripyat, we could pay npc's and specific guide npc's to fast travel to places, I imagine that feature will be returning in one form or another.

Is it just me or does anyone else hate seeing gameplay from "game reviewers" because they always play like they've never played a game before and it just urks me
some of them are also exaggerating what they're doing so showoff mechanics or aspects, but you're not wrong, a lot of them just don't play a lot of games and its simply a job assignment lol
In the original game they had some artifacts appear only at night. Maybe GSC or the mod makers will develop this idea. I mean burers need to eat something, but they hate bright lights. Or an anomaly depends on the moon phase.
I'll probably start on the regular setting. I usually use hud aswell. Once I get familiar with everything though it would be fun to crank it up to hardest.
Looking back, Stalker 2's map size isn't anywhere near the top of the list for largest game worlds, however it is one of the largest in it's genre. Games that are remotely comparable like Far Cry, Bethesda RPGs, It is indeed quite a bit bigger. Fallout 4 for example, was about 10 Square KM, Fallout 76 was 4 times its size at 40 something, Stalker 2 still beats them both combined at 60. depth, not width. There will be plenty of game here. To think there's a game of this scale, and its a Stalker game... that part is crazy
It's all about density. Games like deus ex feel easily just as large as a far cry game, but the map is just a small part of a city, but you can enter all buildings and discover a lot of stuff. Then there are games wich pan this out over a giant map with lots of space in between spots. I prefer small but well thought out maps with a lot of verticality
Please, please please have good side quests/main quest. Please have exciting exploration. I have not yet managed to fill the void of modded Skyrim. I know this isn’t an RPG, but I’m just asking for interesting quests, NPCS, and an amazing world.
A Life is not only for enemy info sharing, it's a very unique system (at least on previous titles) that every NPC has their own name and goals, thus creating a living environment with changing possibilities on each play through.
Im counting the days for this release. Also super excited about what the modders are gonna do with the code, GAMMA looked fairly modern for such an old game. With modern code it should be pretty great.
I had no idea about the lightning strikes thing, that's awesome. Sounds like kind of like a more random, less frequent version of the pulses Anomaly has. I wonder if there will be any warning before one hits near you, like how in real life you hair would be standing up.
@@mush825what the fuck are you talking about lol? This is clearly played on console, what’s janky about moving with the left stick and aiming with the right? That’s literally 100% of all games ever since PS2.
So, the thing about the map. It looks like a recreation/enlargement of the Anomaly map mashup. Which is perfect. I recognize 90% of the spots shown in the recent trailers
Huh, not really a recreation, no. A lot of stuff has been moved around, the Great Swamp is now East of Cordon instead of West, the CNPP and Prypiat have been swapped to more accurately reflect their real life location, Garbage now seems to expand all the way to the CNPP, which is now right next to the Red Forest instead of being above. Not to mention some maps that were originally cut content like Truck Cemetery and Generators will now be natively integrated into the landscape and the story. So yeah technically you can recognize a lot of regions (I think Starion counted at least 20 familiar areas but there's more in total), but I mean it was to be expected right? It's the Zone... Just better.
Correction to the last point: GSC moved their office to the Czech Republic at the start of the war. (Not all of them went there though, some stayed and joined the army, sadly some of them died on the frontline.)
Part of me hopes there are some "empty" areas of the map. Places where it's just you and the zone, and maybe some mutants lurking about, or patrolling enemies or bandits. If done properly it could provide that sense of being a Stalker in this massive unforgiving zone where you're basically alone and always in danger. In the mods they added this area next to Cordon that connects up to the Dark Valley, I think it was called the darkscape. But this area is mostly empty, save for some bandits and maybe a military patrol or two. I always enjoyed traversing it because it gives you this sense of isolation and despair. Obviously the map needs stuff in it, but I hope there's at least some emptier areas, areas meant simply to traverse and give a sense of isolation and getting lost in the zone. And naturally, these areas would be ripe for potential mutant encounters as well. They could be areas that act as shortcuts from one hub to another, but it's super dangerous to traverse because it's filled with anomalies and mutants, etc.
It's pretty much how they designed the Zone for S2 I think they explained, with maximum variety in regions, some of them barren, some of them full of life. Different types of mutants with unique variants and different population depending on where you go. My guess is it's gonna be full of stalkers in the lesser zone, and the closer you get to CNPP/Pripyat the more danger and isolation you will experience. That would allow a feeling of life while keeping also the feeling of trespassing into unknown areas and untamed territories, depending on your location.
Wait....youre telling me the zone is now AT LEAST 60 square klicks?!?! Thats fucking wild to think about within the lore. The last canon appearance of the zone it was only 15-20 right???
Given that the c-concousness is dead, there is nothing to stop the zone from growing. I think its a lot sliwer, but i also remember a dude saying there were anamolies outside the zone in the stalker 2 trailer, so something is going wrong.
@jasperlowpensky5550 as far as I recall every emission/Psy storm that happens the zone grows a little so I wonder if they've gotten more or less frequent. Also in my previous comment I thought the zone was only 15-20km but it seems that the zone in call of pripyat was canonically already around 60km. Even then however that means this time we will be able to explore the entirety of the og 60km zone which in my head means the zone is likely even bigger than that. If I had to guess? The zone might be around 80km now, and if I'm right I'll bet that will be a story point for stalker 2.
I'd be really impressed if they actually let you 'complete' the game without taking the main quest. In other words, the main quest is an option and the game lets you do what you need to do to get to the end without ever taking the main quest. Either that or the game gives you alternative ways to play that deviate from the main questline.
@@VadymYezerskyi It can definitely be done. The best example of this is 'Fallout:New Vegas' a now legendary game that is the best of the Fallout series. I'm playing video games since the 80s and what I really love about the devs from GSC is, that they NOT created a hyper-photorealistic world. Stalker 2 looks and feels like a VIDEO GAME instead of an "interactive movie" like Alan Wake 2 for example, which would also cause that many having problems enjoying the game at max settings. GSC did an amazing job that Stalker 2 looks gorgeous but you don't need a $3000 High-End PC to enjoy it. Can't wait!!
In my opinion, there is a difference between "empty" and "dull". Actually, I want an "empty" map in STALKER, but the constant feeling, that something COULD crawl up to me, to attack me. Is this comprehensible?
So pumped for this but also tempering my expectations, OG trilogy influenced the type of games I’ve loved after ,like days epoch mod. I do hope the gunplay and design isn’t the same as metro series, loved first metro but couldn’t finish exodus. Let’s hope for a stable launch and not too much drama and gamer/baby rage.
Man I’m so excited, but going from playing Into the Radius in VR to this, it’s going to have me constantly thinking how this would be in VR. Maybe in 2040 lol
How so though? Dayz is an open world survival game & the rumour is that the stalkers developers plan on making a cookie cutter team death match on closed off smaller areas of the map they created I can’t really picture there being ANY similarities unless they decided to make the entire map open world and open up the players to like 60/100 servers. which is incredibly doubtful unfortunately after where they mentioned which route they wanna take the MP in… I can almost near certain promise they won’t be doing anything wide scale on the multiplayer counterpart which is a shame but still the reality of the situation (for now)
Once the multiplayer component arrives post launch, even though it's about sectioned off areas - i can almost bet a mod will pop up at some point featuring the entire map in multiplayer. If the studio doesn't end up doing something like that themselves, which is a possibility.
really hope they put out a coop mode post launch, theres nothing i want more than to experience this game with my cousin, please PLEASE do it, endgame should be "now go do it with a friend"
Never played it, but I’ve ended all three metros game, and I’m hyped to play this game, looks a lot like metro, and it’s open world, just the way I wanted to metro to be.
I haven't been able to find the info, maybe someone else has seen it, but I cant find any information on how deep the weapon modding is. Can I repair a broken barrel or trigger mechanism or did they remove that in favor of an upgrade system and strictly weapon attachments?
Never knew about Stalker before Stalker 2 was announced and that wasn't long ago for me. I have been excited for this. I cant wait to open some some cold ones and just immerse myself.
Your understanding of the anomalies is interesting. It's not like there are different physics everywhere. Maybe have a look at some of the previous games if you want more info.
In the Metro series i always moved out when it was dark or put out all the light sourches i made sure i had a Night Vision Goggles or NV sights on my guns..
I am so excited for this game, I have always loved Stalker and any game inspired or set around the Chernobyl disaster, one day I want to travel to the exclusion zone and see it in person but for now this game will do just fine for me. 😊
When I played Metro Exodus I felt myself wanting more, and it was because I wanted a next gen STALKER. Even if this game is buggy at launch I have total confidence they'll get it to where it needs to be.
I've put hundreds of hours into the original trilogy over the course of my life and I don't think i've even played enough of the campaign to tell you what it was about. The fact that they straight up said they don't care if you do play it, confirms the feeling I have that I will never be uninstalling this game from my hard drive.
Dunno why some people have such low attention spans? why must there be lots to do within a map? just go out and explore get lost in the world. a game doesn't have to excite you every second.
It looks amazing. I saw some people complained that it needed to be like anomaly or GAMMA, or else it would be shit. Idk about all that. I don't know why people would even worry because as long as the base form of the game they make is pretty good, mods can and will make it better. The more freedom they give us with the game the better imo.

Man the gamers have gotten tiktok brain if rpg mechanics like skill points are filler for them. Not that i think Stalker needs them but that comment was DUMB AF. Miss me with dat shit.
my question is if the map is so massive, will there be a type of transportation vehicle to get to point a to b or they expect us to get to everywhere by foot😂
Driving in stalker is a BIG no no, it just doesn't suit for stalker. Especially when alot of anomalies are scattered around the zone even on roads, you gonna have a hard time driving 💀
Great video dude. That map is Far Cry 6 size! Holy crap! This game looks great and whatever imperfections it may have will be easily forgivable. But now I’m old and I can’t help wondering how you younger guys should expect respect when you say “It’s your boy…” and call yourselves “boi”? Respect starts with the self and I honestly wonder if you “bois” have good self respect? Because… boi? Anyway I’m sure it’s just because I’m old and calling each other bois is really cool so, very, very good work, boi. Just sounds so bad! Like yelling “Hey boy!” in the 90s could get you beaten, you know?
I like your video but you should lose the corny generic music. It just takes away from the production quality. And if you are gonna use music, maybe something more suitable for the content? Something like, eerie? Like Stalker? I don’t mean to be a dick I just have a major pet peeve with the TH-cam trend of using the quiet background generic music. Bad move!
Hi buds. I’m Ukrainian living in Australia. Your content it top quality. And nevertheless thanks a lot for understanding and supporting the game and developers, can hear it in your voice. Thank you
I mean it isn't that big (the map), Erangel and Miramar from PUBG have the same extension, although it's obvious that there's 1000 times more detail on the environment and history, but personally I even feel like RDR2 had a small map while it being 75km², so I hope it gives enough hours of play or at least to be a really high quality hours of play just like RDR2 did
I’ve been looking forward to this game for a good minute. I saw it going straight to game pass and instant thought of the game directed by a boring cat lady Starfield. I’m still gonna wait for reviews, but this so far is the best video I’ve seen to promote this game. Good job man.
Glad they aren't in these "lite rpg" or levels things. Those here who played at least one of the first three STALKER games already know that if you try to mug one of the rares Legendary stalkers that chill in the beginner zones (like Cordon or Swamps) to steal their gear ... well, not everthing went as planned 💀👀
It looks fantastic - but regardless, I'm most impressed by the overall Organic movements an animations of the Fauna they're totally believable and only lends to make one of the already most immersive Worlds ever created 10 fold more so. That's really all the Original needed, as the bricky and very 2008 animations of it's assets did jar and ruin the experience a lot. BTW... we know that this game is going to get a updated version coming out sometime in the future.
@@VadymYezerskyiperhaps going to a certain location and killing, destroying, or activating something is one of the endings. Maybe you can skip everything and just go there and try to force your way in.
Alan Wake 2 mentioned
it's still ue5 so i don't know much about that, that engine isn't really the smoothest
@@crackhair3998 one of the devs stated they had to make so many modifications to the unreal engine, they gave it a hyphenated version name
@@crackhair3998what are you on about UE5 is possibly the best looking system out there
In my opinion, there is a difference between "empty" and "dull". Actually, I want an "empty" map in STALKER, but the constant feeling, that something COULD crawl up to me, to attack me. Is this comprehensible?
It’s a very small detail, but I like that they added if you reload halfway through a mag you get 31 rounds, not 30 for the extra round in the chamber
I can't wait for the sirens to start crying again...
I've literally had this video on repeat for hours on the side monitor. Got me geekin out over here.
Man I’m so excited, but going from playing Into the Radius in VR to this, it’s going to have me constantly thinking how this would be in VR. Maybe in 2040 lol
Watching the mocap sessions has me wondering how long till some dev studio has their actors work IN the virtual environment using VR.
ngl, if they end up using that engine to developp a multiplayer game, you can start preparing Dayz's coffin
How so though? Dayz is an open world survival game & the rumour is that the stalkers developers plan on making a cookie cutter team death match on closed off smaller areas of the map they created
I can’t really picture there being ANY similarities unless they decided to make the entire map open world and open up the players to like 60/100 servers. which is incredibly doubtful unfortunately after where they mentioned which route they wanna take the MP in…
I can almost near certain promise they won’t be doing anything wide scale on the multiplayer counterpart which is a shame but still the reality of the situation (for now)
@@ANDYBARLOTV "if they end up" no need to go all nerd over an if or could be comment. i can almost hear the snorts while i read your comment
@@2Poor4UserName you're taking this way too seriously brother
@@2Poor4UserName I don't even know how you read that mess.
Can I repair a broken barrel or trigger mechanism or did they remove that in favor of an upgrade system and strictly weapon attachments?
remove what, that wasnt in vanilla, just the autistic mods

@@zmielov50 Thank you.

Man they really took advantage of UE5 the visuals are impressive
They really worked on the ads and aiming with weapons. I looked really clunky in the first trailer and now it's a lot more fluid.
Who notices some of the buildings that ‘shiey’ visited on his Chernobyl visit?
In the Metro series i always moved out when it was dark or put out all the light sourches i made sure i had a Night Vision Goggles or NV sights on my guns..
I do kinda hope stalker gets mod support on console so when the community creates something like stalker anomaly console players gain access to it
Arma Reforger’s AI has wall hacks. It’s a relief to know I won’t be followed by bullets once I’ve broken visible contact in a gunfight.
I bought Stalker 2 and not even have a pc
lol
then how are you going to play it😂
Thats Stalker fan

I am so excited for this game, I have always loved Stalker and any game inspired or set around the Chernobyl disaster, one day I want to travel to the exclusion zone and see it in person but for now this game will do just fine for me. 😊
never tried STALKER but excited to try it out
Just from the little knife cutscene I want it
Not sure why everyone is saying stalker 2 is the biggest map in gaming, it's pretty much exactly the size of far cry 5, but with no vehicles.
Is that new rifle the Fort 221? Looks good!
When I played Metro Exodus I felt myself wanting more, and it was because I wanted a next gen STALKER. Even if this game is buggy at launch I have total confidence they'll get it to where it needs to be.
was that a Cat in the church???? that tells me they genuinely approve of anomaly.
WTF IS THAT MAP SIZE HOLY HELL
it actually kinda excites me even more
AH NU CHEEKI BREEKI IV DAMKE
-some Russian dude that was more vodka then man.
The most nostalgic hit i ever got from this
cant wait for it
So if you finish the story will it have freerom and endgame content?
I've put hundreds of hours into the original trilogy over the course of my life and I don't think i've even played enough of the campaign to tell you what it was about. The fact that they straight up said they don't care if you do play it, confirms the feeling I have that I will never be uninstalling this game from my hard drive.
Not sure in old stalker the game is pretty much over when you finish the story
Really hope the xbox will run this game without too many issues
The studio is temporarily based in Prague, not in Ukraine anymore for some time now since the war.
Size definitely = good. 🤓
Dunno why some people have such low attention spans? why must there be lots to do within a map? just go out and explore get lost in the world. a game doesn't have to excite you every second.
Never played Stalker, but I am playing this. Looks sick.
STALKER 2.. POE2.. work is going to suffer.
5:28 idk about that. From the trailers the AI seems very dumb. In fact it's my main concern about this game so far
7 features listed here :
-Map size
-No RPG Mechanism
-Anomalies
-A-life AI system
-Freedom in playing or ignoring story
-Day/night cycle
-Ukrainian developer working during the war
Man the gamers have gotten tiktok brain if rpg mechanics like skill points are filler for them. Not that i think Stalker needs them but that comment was DUMB AF. Miss me with dat shit.
my question is if the map is so massive, will there be a type of transportation vehicle to get to point a to b or they expect us to get to everywhere by foot😂
In the previous games there are guides that you can pay for to fast travel.
I Hope you will be able to see the travel like taxis in gta but skip it If you want@@whoknowsandwhocares1
Driving in stalker is a BIG no no, it just doesn't suit for stalker. Especially when alot of anomalies are scattered around the zone even on roads, you gonna have a hard time driving 💀
60 square kilometers is not that big, probably about twice the size of skyrim.
@@Marlboro-lights1 it actually does
Great video dude.
I hope you can use both sights on the G36
What version are you going to buy?
I like your video but you should lose the corny generic music. It just takes away from the production quality. And if you are gonna use music, maybe something more suitable for the content? Something like, eerie? Like Stalker?
I don’t mean to be a dick I just have a major pet peeve with the TH-cam trend of using the quiet background generic music. Bad move!
Bought a trial or pre load or demo before the war never got it. I am about tired of waiting
Hi buds. I’m Ukrainian living in Australia.
Your content it top quality. And nevertheless thanks a lot for understanding and supporting the game and developers, can hear it in your voice. Thank you
👊🤝
stalker will never suck, cause all the moders are waiting eeeeagerly
I hope tarkov med system gets modded at some point
On the website it say there will be multi-player after release
Do enemies respawn overtime?
I mean it isn't that big (the map), Erangel and Miramar from PUBG have the same extension, although it's obvious that there's 1000 times more detail on the environment and history, but personally I even feel like RDR2 had a small map while it being 75km², so I hope it gives enough hours of play or at least to be a really high quality hours of play just like RDR2 did
They probably got a lot experience in gun play😂. Still war gonna over soon. With the right steps
I want to simply be able to lower/ unshoulder my gun, like the fallout 4/ Starfield mod, for mah emershuns 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been looking forward to this game for a good minute. I saw it going straight to game pass and instant thought of the game directed by a boring cat lady Starfield. I’m still gonna wait for reviews, but
this so far is the best video I’ve seen to promote this game. Good job man.
wish u could edit ur character and multiplayer😢
AI in tarkov is like that one sees you the whole map will lock onto you XD don't ask how i know that :P
New mechanic - no RPG elements... That's a stretch, man.
Hopefully they can't see through the grass 😂
Glad they aren't in these "lite rpg" or levels things.
Those here who played at least one of the first three STALKER games already know that if you try to mug one of the rares Legendary stalkers that chill in the beginner zones (like Cordon or Swamps) to steal their gear ... well, not everthing went as planned
💀👀
It looks fantastic - but regardless, I'm most impressed by the overall Organic movements an animations of the Fauna they're totally believable and only lends to make one of the already most immersive Worlds ever created 10 fold more so.
That's really all the Original needed, as the bricky and very 2008 animations of it's assets did jar and ruin the experience a lot.
Oh and PS to the author: sorry about this seeming like a petty nitpick, but the 'Stalker 2' game tag reads: ''Heart of Chornobyl''
Noone:
Bro: I M P R E S S I V E !
Did they scrap the pick up animations? Bc there very immersive.
DayZ map is 225km² so.. WOW is even bigger lol. Keep your shit together
