Located on the fence just outside the major central Lumphini Park in Bangkok, Thailand, are a number of Thai street food stalls. You can get all sorts of delicious and on the go Thai food. But there’s one stall where you pay 40 THB ($1.29), and you can eat as much as you want, a full buffet. I’d say it’s one of the most affordable buffets I’ve ever had anywhere in the world.
You’ll find a mix of different Thai dishes, a variety of different curries with coconut milk, and a number of different stir fry dishes. Overall, you have about a dozen different Thai dishes to choose from. I was surprised by the amount of meat in dishes - they don’t skimp at all on the meats and proteins. You first grab a plate of rice and start digging in to whatever you want.
Two of my favorite dishes at this Thai street food buffet were the boiled beef with lemongrass, and the boiled salmon soup!
In addition to an affordable all you can eat buffet, the people you meet eating here are cool and laid back, and the owner and chef is so friendly. He kept inviting me back to the buffet line to eat more food - “come back and have another plate!”

We went to Thailand in February. We ate here!!! It was so good!!! And yes, it was $1.29! Only thing we didn't try, was the soup, as it was not done yet. They were so friendly!
Every Thai person we met was wonderful. It was the best vacation ever. I ate all the time and lost 14#. Lol.

Please feel funny to be here, from Airport you can go to downtown by BTS electrical train, please avoid cab/taxi. Stay in "Khao San Road" or "Sukumvit road" is good for you & travelling.

It's not that they arent being greedy.. They're still making a nice profit off their prices, it just seems to be a bigger difference in price because of the currency exchange rate.
My respect to the chef, im a chef and owner of two Tex-Mex Delis and I know how hard and difficult it can be to cook all of those wonderful dishes, but perseverance always pays, God bless and keep on cooking and for you peeps out there keep supporting your local businesses.

Thank you Mark. I actually felt like I ate there, thanks to your descriptions. Also, I was inspired to make a white rice over spring greens with Thai chili and a touch of soy sauce, two jumbo eggs with the yoke making everything so creamy and thinly sliced white onions. Why? I never had it but now it's a favorite. Why? Mark, the food inspired me. Why? That's all I had available. Why? I live in the high desert of Nevada and not in Thailand - a home in a former life!!! Thank You!!!

Isnt this what everyone does? My parents taught me to always clean up my area when im done eating even if we are out at a joint ir something. My family and I try to leave it clean or sometimes even cleaner then when we got there

You could easily make that much food for less than $5 even in the US. Yes, you'd have to make it yourself, but comparative to cost of living and salaries in the US, if you make the food yourself it can be relatively cheap.

@@kgspvgsp7569 I cook 95% of all the food I eat. I can get a pound of cheap pork or chicken for about $1.50-2.00 a pound, that is enough for 2-3 meals. I can get a whole basket of veggies for $5. Rice is cheap. I also make my salsas and hot sauces, bake my own breads (flat breads, loaves, tortillas etc).
I was in Thailand for a holiday and didn’t get a lot of spicy food because they thought I couldn’t take it (most Weatern tourists can’t). Sometimes we didn’t have the time to lunch at a restaurant, so we stopped at a food-stall like this at a gas station. That was the best food, because it was cooked for the Thai people and not for tourists. Fantastic!

@@MrMuscleTroll Hi material or gradients as well as beef/pork/chicken are not expensive in Thailand as our country is still agriculture-based country, although the country is mainly run by industrial and service sectors. As a consequence, we don't need to import those things instead we export it.

I wish we could have things like this stall here in the UK...prices are insane here...you can't really order any food without feeling robbed and underfed...In central London a small sandwich the size of your hand costs £20 to £30...

The reason this buffet is so cheap because the stall is located near Khlong Toey market which is the place where everyone can get the ingredient with cheap price, but eventually I think 40 THB is still way too much cheap for the buffet.

And you have to keep in mind that the average salary in switzerland is around 6000 swiss francs per month which is the reason everything is more expensive.

Street food are one of a kind
Thai food is so colorful, fresh veges and the meats and the Thai green chilly peppers in fish sauce yummy. The soup, tom yum with lemon grass, I could go on and on. Throughly enjoyed the video and am salivating too. Pumpkin curry looks so appetizing. Over the top cuisine. Have to visit Phuket just for my gastronomical appetite.
