Now all i have to do is remember to watch this later after work. Edit: Thanks for all the reminders. I now have the video bookmarked so I can reference as needed. ❤
I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD, and honestly, it feels like it explains so much but also makes me feel worse. People say knowing is half the battle, but how do you fight something that constantly pulls the rug out from under you? I flunked my Grade 12 exams last year-mostly because of my ADHD and partly because I just couldn’t keep my focus on anything long enough to make it stick. Competitive exams? Forget about it. I failed all of those too. Everyone else seems to just get things done, while my brain makes even the simplest tasks feel like climbing Everest. It’s not like I don’t want to do better. I’ve tried so many times to sit down and study, to keep my interests alive, but ADHD doesn’t care. One moment I’m obsessed with a subject or a hobby, the next, it’s like my brain flips a switch, and I’m completely over it. How can you make progress on anything when you’re wired like this? I’ve tried so many methods to make things work: body doubling, Pomodoro timers, breaking tasks into tiny, manageable steps. I even started going to the gym four days a week to get some structure and help my focus. And while these things help a little, it’s like the relief is temporary, and I’m right back where I started. Some days, even getting through the smallest task feels like a battle, no matter how many strategies I try. I used to have dreams, big ones. But now, I feel like I’ve let everyone down-my family, myself. I don’t even know if I can try again. The guilt and hopelessness just pile up until they feel unbearable. People tell me to "try harder" or "just focus," but if only it were that simple! I’m stuck in this loop of wanting to do better and failing at it, again and again. It feels like there’s no hope left, no path forward. I’m just...tired. If anyone out there gets what this feels like or has found ways to fight through it, I’d appreciate hearing about it. Right now, I don’t know what else to do.
Check for food sensitivities? It really does affect me. Common ones are gluten (the protein in wheat) and casein (the protein in milk). And sugar. All cause inflammation. And brain fog. When I wasn't eating these things, my mind was much sharper. I fell off the wagon about a year ago, and now I'm a MESS again...
@ladyb7327 I don't dont consume much sugar. And I am not lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant. Though I avoid them most of the days. I drink tea or coffee once in the morning, and mostly eat rice with vegetable curries etc. Idk why. My sleep is also messed up. I just can't sleep regardless of whether my phone is with me or not and when it is with me it is much worse😭
@@MysticalMetaphors maybe you're low in vitamins and minerals? Low B12 can cause us to think too much, especially at night. Maybe try cod liver oil? Nutritional yeast? Grass fed butter? Free range eggs? Wild caught salmon? Good fatty meats? LOTS of green veggies? Probiotics? Get sunshine every day? Vitamin D3 too? Try intermittent fasting? Extra virgin coconut oil? Check out Dr Berg? He helped me a LOT. I Hope this helps, and now I'm going to go take my own advice. lol 🫂
Brother If all these things won’t help. I archived everything i couldn’t in years in 3 month watching / studying Neroknowledge (on yt) But you really have to go deep into a rabbit hole haha. Controversial at first but this changed my life completely
I like this in theory, it makes total sense, I plan on trying this out. I get so tired of my brain forgetting tasks, going for a goal only to remember I had that goal I was chasing months later, somehow I spaced out and went on an entirely new path derailing my brain. I’ve spent years slowly working on improving how I react and think about everything. I hope I can make these tools work to continue my growth in 2025! Good luck to everyone, this year will be better than the last, because we make it better. Now … close TH-cam and go work on implementing what we just learned. We got this !!
I've been listening to SO many different "goal setting/productivity" methods lately, hoping to find a method I could use consistently to work on my big 2025 goals. I kept hitting walls when I'd have a great day with one method, then wake up the next day and feel apathetic or tired and the method didn't seem as fitting or as easy to implement as it had before. But your suggestions to spark passion and interest and reignite our "WHY?" every day? Absolute genius and I'm SO grateful you're somebody with ADHD who understands what it's like. Being sincerely passionate about a goal, making progress, and then waking up one day to find zero motivation or incentive to pursue something we KNOW was important just a few days ago? Or somehow forgetting about it for a couple weeks? It's maddening, and SO hard to explain to our neurotypical loved ones. Thank you for this video! I'm super stoked to implement it tonight!
Thank you for putting my experience into words- succinctly! 💫 Another utterly maddening thing for me is this way I go off on so many tangents that I have to delete my comment 😫 But you’ve said it for me…I just hope I CAN implement it. Things are getting worse, and ironically (tragically…) it’s stopping me from getting treatment. Enough! I have to reclaim my life…
That is my problem too, I have had to block all my social media and when I unblock my parental settings to look something up I dive into a black hole again 😢
yes, every day, when I wake up, it's like a new life. I don't feel so much connected with yesterday. So what I deeply decided yesterday can be completel meaningless today. because, more than stories, exploration is my nature. That's why post it and apps don"t help me. I must do EVERY DAY the work that other people do only the 1st of January. Because, even my own tracks, made by me, I feel them like a prison. So, I just keep warmly inside the "why" , and after, I let my body decides how he wants to process today. I am not young, that's also why I know what is recurrent in my deep wishes. Thank you so much, your explanations are clear and I feel relief (because people don't believe me when I explain how I function, now with this video, I understand that ... yeah... maybe it sounds stupid, but I accomplish things like that, following the waves)
Thanks for the work... I think i will try to slowly figure out myself more by it and the journey towards my goals might be crucial but i gotta do this ..its literally the thing that decides my do or die and im not lying
limit yourself from touching anything that blasts ur dopamine up the wall before 3-4pm! It’s a currency, and we spend it on dumb sht without realising it. I just don’t believe in this approach anymore of music and a vision board to help ppl with adhd, maybe for ppl who have life in order already.. but those who don’t and have attention issues and extreme mood swings can’t play the same game, the crashes will crush you and the highs will bore you from the appeal of mundane tasks that are usually necessary. It’s fuel management that gets the best results, a vision of wants and desires is a one way rocket fuelled trip to crash’ville
So here's my deal. I don't have any long term goals. They all dropped off the radar a few years ago when I had a medical crisis, and they never came back. I have a reasonably rewarding caregiving job, and a jiu jitsu hobby for fun and exercise, but the long term stuff is gone. So how do I get some kind of control?
Do you want long term goal or are you happy this way ? If you are happy this way you don't have to get goal because someone told you to, if you want just think to what will fulfill you irrespective of limitative thoughts you can have toward it, and set it at a goal
I'm in the same boat. My life didn't turn out the way I expected it to and now I don't feel like I have a "why" to keep trying. I try to envision an alternative future and I draw a blank. It's almost like my mind shys away from creating any images of possibilities.
@aminemehrez9233 I'm open to it specifically for the daily achievement purposes he describes in this video. My life is chaos and I need to get it under control. Started ritalin last week because I can't stay organized enough to take my cancer meds. House looks like a knee-deep hoarder mess. I forget something (gym gear, lunch, etc) every single morning. Car is 27,000 miles overdue for an oil change. So I'm here to explore the options. And, the lack of a "why" seems like it could be part of the problem
I started daydreaming part way through 🤣 I’ve never considered myself to have ADHD, but it makes sense. I can’t even motivate myself to work anymore. I have a career but I’m up against a wall every single morning. The problem is me, isn’t it?
When I have tried so many times and failed, I can't believe if I sustain something that it will work this time. I don't even get interested in things anymore
I feel ya there… today I got a good opportunity with a company I use for our hemp business to also be a distributor for them to these other local stores … I’m scared but I know I could do it but afraid of failure to the point I normally avoid things but I’m gonna make myself do this meeting an see where it goes … just try again… all we can do
Does this work for AuDHD also because, I am a weird mix of chaos and structure which is hard to balance, a mix analytical seriousness and cutesy fun personality with creativity, and intense masking because of my autism side.
very good question. I am not AuDHD, but I often think : such a mix ! I guess that depends if the 2 things balance each others, or if it's the constant chaos as you said. I guess the best is to surf on both. Have things ready to do for the moment you'll be in "structured mode", and keep the "sprint things" for when your in "creativity free style mode". But that requires to have a life that you can organize your daily tasks yourself. Good luck !!!!
Computer frameworks just makes me mad. I can't navigatein those things. Even worse on the phone. So, I use paintbrushes on papers, chalks on the door, I renew that at least one time a day. Hand writing and colours + music and dancing + free meditation + feeling the nature, that what makes me internalize the information. I need space. 3D. computer's document are so small. 😀
I’ve noticed that I constantly watch channels of people living the van life. I feel better when I work in a different café every day-there just has to be some kind of change daily. For example, I need to rearrange my room every two months, which feels silly… Anyway, I’ve been wondering if I might have autism instead of ADHD. Maybe I was misdiagnosed?

Setting goals according to your mood in real time is the way to breakthrough with ADHD.
Your goals should be tailored to your needs (your story)

Only an ADHD'er can understand an ADHD brain so well! Very useful video. This, if any, has to be the way to pursue my goals!

Are these feelings experience people in general or just people with ADHD?
This is general and nothing for ADHD in particular.
