8:30 This dude carries no insurance and immediately becomes political and flames FEMA for not giving a handout one week after the storm. Instead of thinking what the governor did to make insurance so expensive in Florida, he yet again believes Ukraine has anything to do with him getting uninsured/ flooded. FEMA is really meant for the last option and won’t be quick, otherwise everyone would ditch their insurance and rely on FEMA. Point is, DONT be this guy.

@@ashleighelizabeth5916 he probably watches Fox News everyday and believed 750$ is all he can get. He most likely didn’t even go on the fema website to register. I have friends who did and they show a page that their claim is being processed, won’t be quick will be a month or two. But there’s is NO WAY he knows he got denied in just a week after the hurricane. It’s sad that some politicians spread these fake msgs and screwed their voter base.

My 26 year old’s son’s beautiful home was badly damaged by a tornado. He was offered a pittance by his insurance to repair his house. I think because he was young they thought he would be a pushover. He hired an architect, engineer, lawyer, and home inspector. These guys went over every inch his house. After he and the lawyer gave the insurance company all their findings he was approved for a new house from the foundation up and rent for a luxury apartment while it was being built. The man in your video was smart to hire a company to make sure that he gets a fair settlement.

Most all mass media weather reporters are controlled by Main Stream Media. They do not explain to the general public that many of the destructive weather systems’ severity, storm direction and public health stressers are controlled through modern technologies from High Frequency Active Auroral Research (HAARP), cloud seeding toxic chemicals and Next RAD Networking over land - timing controls. The thousands of tons of aluminum oxides and other chemicals dumped on us daily produce deadly side effects on the human population globally. Some of these techniques go back centuries in their introduction to warfare…like smoking the battle field to hide targets…
Those reporters that speak out on these matters of airborne chemical human toxicity are removed from their microphones by deep state manager minions. Referring to weather extremes as “natural disasters” is somewhat deceptive.
I have lost much respect overall for their industry. They play the role of a willfully blindfolded executioner and know better. There are a group of rebels under the search name of “geo-engineering” that are speaking out on these matters for those who give a care. It’s okay to remain anonymous and align with the rebels to serve.

To the restaurant owner who owns 3 restaurants but doesn't know how many employees he has, should know that FEMA does not cover businesses never have never will. So even if your were Ukrainian you wouldn't get help from FEMA but nice try showing your cult like tendencies. If they had to cover businesses there would be no FEMA for the people.
Owning 3 restaurants and not having insurance is just a stupid move on his part and I don't feel sorry for him at all. He is the type of owner that claims the employees are like family but I will bet his family and the employees don't live in the same neighborhood or have the same lifestyle. I have seen his type many times before and I will also bet he has no workman's comp or unemployment insurance either. He probably knows that he needs to go to the SBA for help but since he isn't an honest businessman he knows the SBA will not help people that have no insurance, don't file taxes on time every year, do not keep financial business records, do not do yearly inventories. I was a District Manager for a casual dining company I had ten stores and anywhere from 250 to 275 employees that fluctuated. When Charley his us in 2004 we were fully covered for the brick and mortar, and the employees. If you don't have insurance than you shouldn't have a business. If you are claiming that insurance is too expensive than I know you are just too greedy and complain all the time that you don't make any money and cry poormouth all the time.

I used to live on the Isle of Wight, a reasonably sized island off the south coast of England. One bar I visited had markers showing the flood levels just from the storm surges, going back 70+ years. The building was brick and stone, about 120 years old so had a good chance of survival, plus they used to put the cigarette machine up on beer crates when they knew a storm was on its way. Then in the 80's we had a hurricane, no idea what level, but strong enough to destroy hundreds of slate roofs, a large section of sea-wall and road, plus thousands of mature trees. The insurance claims were wild, and not everyone was insured. My car was battered by flying masonry and wasn't covered. As this was considered a freak event back then, you could still get reasonably priced insurance, but now the climate has changed and these weather events are no longer "freak" there are many places which have become un-insurable, mainly for flooding. The Isle of Wight is shrinking along its south side, being washed away by the sea, this has been known since the times the Romans lived there. So take a hint and don't rebuild in places where this level of destruction occurs, let some of it go back to nature which helps defend against the storm surges, and protects the places where you can build safely. AND don't listen to local politicians who are clinging on to power by constantly telling you lies.

If they are allowed to rebuild, they should be forced to rebuild on an elevated elevation. Unfortunately, it cost to build up above the flood level, but in the longer term is saves money and saves lives. I'm not picking on Florida, it frustrated me living in tornado alley that homes aren't built to a higher wind rating and with a tornado safe room, not a tornado shelter but an interior closet bolted to the foundation boxed in with wood versus sheetrock, extremely easy and cheap to build in new construction.

Helene trashed the whole house with 4 to 5 feet of water and the smell was disgusting! Was told it's level 3 flooding which contains sewer water. I spent the last 2 weeks salvaging what I could. My home was built in 1950 and had never sustained flooding of any consequence before idalia. As a lifelong resident of Florida I've seen a dramatic change in the weather and while cleaning up from Helene the temperature was 95 degrees according to my truck which would have been unheard of at the beginning of October as little as 10 years ago! I appreciate all these videos that claim how resilient Floridians are and they will restore their homes. The only way I'd rebuild is with a fortress home 12 feet off the ground but that isn't going to happen. I'm done as doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is insanity. IMO this is just the beginning of what's in store for Florida and unfortunately things have permanently changed!
I have flood insurance and to put salt in the wound I had to hire an adjuster who I'll pay 10 percent of all claims settled. The adjuster from the flood insurance company was a total joke as he downplayed my catastrophic damage! I'm saddened to read the comments from people who criticize the residents and business owners for living in these coastal communities. I've traveled all over Florida and stayed in many of these places, and I loved them. I vacationed in Pass A Grille, Siesta Key, Anna Maria Island, Sanibel. One of the best beach vacations I ever had was at the Hutchinson Island Inn; on the east coast; which was totally destroyed by a hurricane in 2004. The owners elected to not build back. Can anyone tell me how Pass A Grille is? It's primarily a residential area, with many homes near the water.

I think there may be some miscommunication. I will criticize the heck out of people who live there. I am a 6th generation Floridian. My criticism is how they chose to live there and how the politicians who have no spine have allowed building code to be what it is. One of my houses that I owned in Florida was built CBS with jalousie windows. Those windows are the worst possible windows to have for insulation. Prior to windows that could take a 150mph hit, they were the best windows for a hurricane as they allowed wind to move through the house during a storm. Once the 150mph windows came out, I replaced all of the jalousie windows. That simple little concept of not defering upgrades, not defering maintenance makes a big difference.
I was scoping out to build a new house in South Florida. Architects were wondering why, a house that was ~3 miles from the ocean should be built on stilts with a metal roof, was what I wanted. Look at the houses that survived with nominal damage. They were all stilt houses. Look how far from the ocean that houses flooded.
Florida, IMO, is going to have to have a major rebuilding. Code will have to be changed/updated. You will start to see more and more stilt built houses, not only on the water, but following flood plain maps. Those stilt houses will no longer just be ones that you see in the Keys or off the Suwannee River. Florida had a massive growth in the 1950s to 1970s. Some of those houses, just like the ones in this video have lived beyond their lifespan and have no value. The lot has value, but the house does not. That is going to be a bitter pill that the state will have with properties there.

This is the beginning unfortunately as the West Coast of Florida has been permanently changed and these mega storms are the reality of our the future. Milton went from a tropical storm to a cat 5 in 30 hours and Florida was extremely lucky as Milton encountered severe shear before landfall. In fact it was more like a cat 2 or strong cat 1 at landfall as the southern eyewall was completely sheared. There isn't one report showing sustained winds of 120 mph. The highest gusts I heard were 105 mph. So as bad as it was it could've been much more devastating!
