Absolutely beautifully done. The first time I heard this piece played was by the students at Cazadero Music Camp, in California. It brought tears to my eyes then, and brings tears to my eyes now. Thank you.
It was such an honor to perform this in York county high school honors band this year. This is the kind of piece that takes a huge bucket of maturity to play and understand. School shootings are the most terrifying thing anybody can imagine being part of.
I'm with you there. Even thought it creates a slight dissonance its somewhat satisfying and sounds good to me. It happens like 3 different times and I love it
This elegy was written in memory of the Columbine tragedy. Sadly, it is now appropriate to remember the victims of Marshall County High in KY, and Marjory S. Douglas High in FL as we listen to this moving piece. There are various version on TH-cam--many by school orchestras.
I had the honor to play this piece in high school. This song always makes me so emotional, it’s tragically beautiful
The off stage trumpet solo always gets me no matter who is performing this piece.

Beautiful dedication, was honored to have played the same solo off stage back in 2001.
I absolutely love how Ticheli put in Columbines anthem into the song. This is so moving.
Kerrigan Catlin he wrote the school song along with this piece
columbine didn’t have an alma mater until this song was written, the alma mater is simply a part of this song with added lyrics
Played this with Dr. LoCognata at the North Carolina All State Honors Band in 2018!!! Thumper solo was absolutely amazing. #touching #clarinet
this is a wonderful recording. best I've heard so far actually.
