Nice work dude, that scatter terrain came out perfect for those spiders. Also there's no harm in shout Outs, there should be far more of them in the world 😁
WOW this was absolutely amazing Mike! I'm overflowing with amazement 😂 Amazing scatter terrain, a forest adventure and sooooo many new techniques for me to try out and things to buy 😄 Thanks for this!
The algorithm betrayed me and hid this video from me but I just found it. This is incredible. The trees are amazing and the dirty down moss is a real game changer. Soooo many techniques I want to try out now!
Wow, Michael! That was some very awesome scatter terrain! I’ve been using dirty down moss for about three years and love it. If you haven’t already, try the dirty down rust it’s great stuff - Rick, USMC
Hey Rick! Yes mate, the rust one is on my list too!! In fact I fully intend to use it when I am finishing off my Grond Model, which is still in the works :D
Awsome stuff. Definitively going to take some of this home, as I soon also plan to make some rock formations. Very much appreciated.Oh, and I like how bonds and connections are made visible in this video. It just shows how much sharing knowledge and collaboration brings.
Awesome mate love the final look of those trees and terrain too, it’s great that you can manipulate the roots to attach to the ruins just great 👍 Thanks for another great video and I would love to see more of that forest you explored!
I’ve not seen one of your vids before. I’ve recently been watching a few mesbg, diorama building and wild exploration videos generally and youtube has put this forward as the perfect centre of that Venn diagram!
7:28 I hope that it shows every time I watch your video because I've watched it somewhere between 10 and 15 times! Sorry I couldn't give you more than just the one like! But I did subscribe! And yes please show more footage of Devil's Chaple Scowles! It looks ancient and creepy! It's beautiful! Great video Mike! This puts you at the top of my list of craters that I watch for inspiration and tips! Just awesome!
Great video! I really enjoyed watching and learned some new techniques as well. Your personality really makes me want to watch more of your videos. Happy Modeling ~ Cory
Wow, amazing miniature terrain as well as the real forest! I think I may use this way of making the trees (I know of the wire method, just never had seen it done with pipe cleaners).
Really enjoyed the video. You manage to do a good job of being both instructive and entertaining. Would love more footage of you walk through the Forest of Dean. Some very interesting terrain there. Definitely an inspiring journey. I felt for you when you mentioned the broken knife. Good tools can be hard to find, and are sometime even harder to replace if that style, or manufacturer, no longer exists. Interesting tree making methods. I don't think I have either seen either of them before. I liked the final results. My only complaint would be that I feel the terrain was a bit too rocky, and the trees are too short for Mirkwood as described in the books. I would have gone for smaller rocky outcrops, and taller trees, but that is just me. All in all well done, and worth the time watching.
Thank you so much! Yes I see what you mean in terms of size etc... but for tabletop gaming there are also things to consider like the practicalities of game play and also storage of the terrain, so a few bit of artistic licence have been allowed here and there ;)
You were right - what a banger of a video!!😆 I’m SO jealous of your new BeaverCraft set!😱 When you pushed pins in your terrain, I started wincing until I remembered the rocks were foam!😂
Thanks Sam!! The carving set is super nice... not gonna lie. Check the links in my description because I think there is some discount applied. Just not sure about international shipping etc
I knew you'd smash it with this project but those webs are a great idea! Especially being tucked into those rocks. Great job and I look forward to the next one!
I love this video and have been making Mirkwood scatter terrain every since I first saw it! I've scoured youtube looking for any other good videos showing how to make forest terrain, and they are few and far between and pale in comparison with yours!
Thank you so much! Yes, that forrest is beautiful! I want to camp there some day... although that is a little scary considering it is called Devils Chapel 😅
@@Nat1videos Lots of uses, tree trunks and limbs, use a fork to make bark lines. Use it for basing material. It is hard as a rock, mixes with water, add some PVA glue for extra adhesion. Caution though, too much liquid and it may warp MDF or poster board. FYI, I think that Kraut Glue is just PVA mixed with water, model railroaders use that a lot.
Thank you so much! Please do make your own. And if you need any tips feel free to jump in to my discord server... there is a great community there more than willing to help :D
Did the Krautcover darken when pouring the fixer on top? I've tried to do that with Geek Gaming Scenics, and that majorly changed colour. .edit - spectacular result - lovely scatter terrain.
@@Nat1videos Some of the base-ready mixes - can't remember the exact name, but the ones where theres a mix of static grass, rocks, coloured sawdust, sand, etc
A video of the forest would be very nice if you had remaining footage.
Ok great! I will definitely do that at some point soon :D
A tour of locations that inspired Tolkien could be a neat little mini series 🤔
DEFINITELY !!!
Those trees blew my mind! Thank you for the demo. Great work.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching :D
This is the coolest method of making trees I've ever seen!
I agree! Fun, easy and they look great :D
Nice work dude, that scatter terrain came out perfect for those spiders. Also there's no harm in shout Outs, there should be far more of them in the world 😁
Cheers dude! We need to get on that Collab with nenji at some point ;)
@@Nat1videos Aye, getting back k to content creation is a goal for the near future and then I'm well up for that collab
