Hey, that is a good suggestion. we came across them during our research. I think they look great. WE didn't include them here as we thought they might be on the small side for a 50mm base, but I am sure with a built up base it would be fine. :) Pinned the suggestion for reference
Dude this is great. My first minis were MESBG ones back from 20 years ago and only now have I started to seriously get into the game. Having this video as a source for alternatives is awesome!
Not a MESBG player but this video earns a like from me because of the dedication to the game! Plus you showed me some fantastic minis I'm interested in. Keep up the great work!
Considering how hard it can be to get official models, and honestly, how bad some of them look, this is one game i highly endorse proxying. This video is majorly helpful to send to newer players who now have interest. The game also becomes much cheaper, and with proxying, my local scene went from 3 of us to well over a dozen now!
Great video and really useful resource. Definitely interested in the same for all the other factions. Curious to see Unreleased Miniatures missing from the list - they have some Arnor and Angmar proxies, among many others for future videos, like Sons of Eorl and Fiefdoms troops.
The Wargames Atlantic's Halfling militia contain both pole arms and bows and are much less cartoony than older sculpts. armoured bodies and a variety of head options. Thoroughly recommend
Great video and looking forward to the next set! Huge fan of proxies and in many cases, I actually prefer them over the GW figures. I will add Ancient City Games (found of MMF) Halflings. Clearly inspired to fit in with the GW hobbits, they are modular and you can add bows (which I have done).
I'm glad you also called out the official Men of Carn Dum; they look like crap. I use the barbarians as well; they resemble the ones in the video game a lot.
Medbury’s Arnor range is so much better than GW’s to be honest. I recently bought Navarette’s Witch King and it’s beautiful. Big shoutout to Dandelion’s who often look like HD version of everything GW ever put out.
Most if not almost all 3d print proxies don't look good for MESBG as they look more fantasy generic, rather than out of LOTR of MESBG. The only ones (for me) thag look part of MESBG and out of LOTR, are the Medbury minis. Those are great and don't look generic. That's why I love them, and wish they did proxies of everything, but alas they haven't done it. Also, Dandelion minis makes good looking Uruk-Hai Scouts. And that's about it for me. Besides thag, I love Wargaming Atlantic halflings. They're excellent proxies. You only need to print 3d hands with axe or hammers, and you're set. I use them for Brandybuck warriors and Tookish Hunters.
I mean to each their own but the Wargame Atlantic Halflings looks so "fantasy generic" and cartoonish to me. I have been a Medbury Patreon supporter for a few years now and think they are the best but will admit that his faces all kind of look similar. Plenty of proxies out there that fit the MESBG line imho.
I have those ringwraith proxies. I use them for the black riders army list. Many of these proxies are amazing and work very well with official minis I've found.
Wargames Atlantic also just came out with a box of Werewolves recently (the leaner humanoid variety)

First unstick your caps lock key.
KZK has some good Gundabad Ogres proxies. They are holding a war goat, it's pretty awesome

Thanks buddy. We will no doubt include them in the Hobbit/ Shire section :)

Snaga are a designation for orcs in the Lord of the Rings Online mmo
It means 'slave' in black speech I believe
Wargames Atlantic Halfling Militia could work as Arnor era hobbits.
There’s another suicide troll on MMF called Troll the Suicide, can’t remember who makes it
