Impossible is too real for me....totally get your reaction. Two "all beef" patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onion on a sesame seed bun (you have to be of a certain age to appreciate that)....you nailed it!
I used to work at McDonald's during college and so I've made the real ones. The meat patties (in all their burgers) are much thinner. The onions were really small and came dehydrated/rehydrated so they never had a strong onion smell or flavor. The lettuce came shredded and yes, they did toast the buns. It's great to find copycat recipes for so many things vegans may miss. It really is helpful for those who don't want to be part of harming animals but still want to enjoy some of their favorites from the past.
We can veganize almost anything in this day in age. How amazing is that?! I just need Miyoko to bring out her plant based cottage cheese and I'm set. 😊
@@neen42 Wow! You would add hot sauce to cottage cheese? I would eat it with either fruit cocktail or applesauce. I've been vegan for so long but not going to deny that I miss it. We have a vegan company in my country here but their version uses coconut milk and the aftertaste is way too strong. Hopefully Miyoko's version is great! I can't wait!

The lettuce is cut in tiny squares at McDonald's. The onion is also chopped into little squares. Actually the recipe of big Mac sauce has mayo, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard.
I never liked Big Macs that much, but my mom did. She would always cut it into quarters before she ate it. I’ve made cheezeburger pizza before, but now I’m thinking that sauce would be good on a Big Mac Pizza. The lettuce basically makes it a salad, right?
Every few weeks I’ll make an Impossible Burger. They’re almost too realistic and I feel a little nauseous afterwards. Probably from the idea of eating all that ‘meat,’ the taste is great. when i cooked vegan mince meat for the first time i washed EXTRA SPECIAL CAREFULLY everything that touched it raw, bc apparently my mind kept forgetting that it is just plants 😅 it was a different brand tho. it didn't bleed, thankfully

My father cracked the Big Mac sauce years ago. Ketchup, mustard , sweet relish, onion and mayo. Easy peasy and it taste good. We called it secret sauce.
The secret to that sauce is French dressing. The imgredients to make McDonald's special sauce are mayo, French dressing, minced onion, sweet relish, white vinegar, a pinch of sugar and salt.

I've never eaten beef or pork or any red meat before so I've never had a big Mac. Or any other hamburger. So I never even wanted to try the vergitarian version. (I grew up vergitarian, but I eat some sea food, chicken and turkey now) but I still eat alot of vegitarian /vegan meals. The fact that the parties looked like they were bleeding is so bleh! I'm an old guy so yeah I had lots of Big Macs before my almost 7 years now as a vegan. That looks sooo good. Yeah epic is the best way to describe it. Uber expensive to make so I could see doing this once a year or something for kicks and to recover from the 20 grams of sat fat.

Since I was raised a meat eater and programmed by a bazillion ads and government breaks and subsidies for the meat industry to get kick-backs, yeah I loved McDonalds and Burger King and I could make the very best meat burgers at home. Raised my kids that way too unfortunately. So now that I'm 100% vegan I look for satisfying stuff and I'm mostly WFPB. But these fake burgers are delicious even from the microwave and when I do have them at home I usually make a burrito using tomato, cucumber, salt, and pepper.

I am a Big Mac girl. That is pretty much what I order all the time when I go there. And nuggets. I do love vegan mayo. It taste the same to me. Looks like real meat. We don't have that at our store though. Love the bangs by the way. We need a Mukbang of that.

I like Hellman's vegan mayo, it keeps in the fridge for a long time (I ignore use by/exp dates, you know when something tastes or smells bad, I'm not tossing an expensive huge mayo jar in 2 weeks, it's fine for months.), I don't use may that often.

Where I live (Europe) we have Garden Gourmet Burgers (Nestle) and they are unbelieveable. 100x better than impossible. Look out for them if you can.
