I have a new Ford Ranger pickup and its large screen randomly, it seemed, to switch from whatever it was set, to the Carplay screen, for only two or three seconds. If you’re full of customer contempt like Honda apparently is, you bury these things deep down in your stupid touchscreen even though you know everyone will need to go there every day.

The last bit was spot on. We just bought a new Tesla Model Y dual motor for less than 30k Euro with incentives in Colorado. With this kind of milage on (I assume) the same route an EV is a great choice. PHEVs do make sense, when you're doing shorter city runs, and then take a longer road trip once in a while, and you don't want the hassle of dealing with a non-Tesla charging network.
