Amitabh Bachchan is playing ashwathama who's an important person in Mahabharat. This movie is taking the things and people written in our scriptures and taking that into the sci-fi route. If they stick the landing it'll be huge in India and overseas too

7:15 yeah but that's similar to the character of prabhas, wish we had subtitles earlier so that you guys can figure out what prabhas says. He says something like "oh man ! Why wake up for a fight THIS morning? I had a great dream, we were in complex" so it's kinda goofy but his arc changes in the film. So the movie kinda matches with his theme.
Also the fact that the vfx looks pretty visible in some scenes where ashwathama jumps and when Prabhas flies off from his car. I just hope that they stick well with the world building and science fiction
The visuals are best in Indian cinema till date, with the amount of vfx shots this film had, it proved again why Indians are known for making great stuff with less money

Guys.. Kamal Haasan plays a negative role in this movie. It's very exciting to see kamal haasan as a villain as he rarely acts in a negative role but he really delivers. Last time he played a badass villain 15 years ago in a movie called "Dasavathaaram" not only he played the badass villain. He also played 10 freaking roles. Hope you guys will watch and react to it someday.

In all honesty many famous movies are made this way. Star Wars took it's inspiration from some books/shows released in the 1960s. It originated on screen sci fi. It would be stupid to say Kalki does not take inspiration from SW
@@itizwhatitiz9560 there's nothing to deny about where the inspirations comes from, it is quiet blatant actually you can pick up right away, when you are making a film in a genre where an particular industry been making since a long time it is not that rare to see the essence of it in something which is made in the present but that's the point right when there's so much inspiration everywhere the little differences are what something to enjoy like the bgm of this movie where it has so much of variety to it.
I think their point is valid about the popular music used in the movie. It kinda ruins the Si-Fi dystopian atmosphere to some degree. I can understand why filmmakers go with this idea given that Indian audiences are very much used to music and can mold into popular music in sci-fi movies without any issues. But they're gonna face some criticism for this from people who have only seen western sci-fi movies which are western audiences in general.

The 3 Prabhas is due to him taking the hologram device in Bujji Bhairava episode 2. He is not as strong as Amitabh Bachchan he is just cocky and devious. Ultimately at the end he will become a Rebel. I see you Nag

This is what I want to see in Indian cinema. Makers pushing the envelope and raising the bar with respect to VFX and scale of the film really gets me hooked. What's also pretty important to me is all the grandeur beautifully woven into a good story. Hope this film delivers big time and is embraced by the audience.

Phew.. This is Worldclass, to say the least.. The Vision behind the World Building, the work put by the concept artists is Awe- Inspiring!!! Special Shout- out to the VFX artists who have elevated the level of CGI to be almost in par with Big Budget Hollywood movie.. No wonder a Visionary like Kamal Haasan Sir agreed to be part of this movie, although his role in this movie is an extended cameo and Man his aura, screenpresence, look/makeup, voice is menacing and he is going to be the highlight of this movie.. Amitabh Bachchan Sir's screen presence, voice and towering personality is a huge asset to this movie and role he plays is any actor's envy.. Deepika's role is a surprise and not what I presumed to be from the First look. How her character blends into the narrative is something m very much interested in!!! Prabhas must thank Nag Ashwin for this movie, as his career is on a downhill since Bahubhali and m sure this movie will give a fresh lease of life to his career .. Last but not the least, Nag Ashwin is done what no other Filmmaker has been able to since last 100 yrs of Indian Cinema and this movie would be a reference to all future Filmmakers in India and across the globe (except Hollywood) on how to merge mythology and Science film Elements and give a Wildly Original, Visually Stunning Sci-Fi spectacle to the Indian audience that we could be proud off for yrs to come..

Incorporating Indian mythology with futuristic technology is the best thing about this movie (as it seems). I’d say its quality is on par with hollywood movies and the style also looks a little hollywood-ish. When Bollywood has hit rock bottom, south movies are becoming even better. My only concern is they don’t push local Indian things like food, clothes, stories etc. alongwith the movies to make them popular abroad, like how hollywood and Japanese animes does it. They still need to understand the importance of these little subtleties which propagates your culture. For example, they could have made ‘samosa’ that little kid’s favourite food and reiterated about it 2-3 times in the movie. Still they’re doing great.

Cinema shouldn't always be comparative. Star Wars had nothing rooted in any culture. However, Kalki is much much more epic owing to the 6000 year old Hindu mythology, spun across a sci-fi futuristic era. I think the concept alone is brilliant.
They have released a short series Bujji and bhairava where they explained the world building. You should check that to get a bit idea of prabhas' character

It's not star wars inspired tbh. The narrative is lord Vishnu final Avatar know as "Kalki" is set to be born and Amitabh which is one of the 7 chiranjeevi from the Hindu Itihas will help Kalki. To summarise you will not get the movie unless you read a little but about itihas of Bharat this movie is basically accumulation of every lore like Ramayana, Mahabharata and many more.... So i guess you would not understand it completely. Its kinda cultural connect type movie which is very hard to explain if you aren't Hindu

I am hyped and hope this movie does well. Also amazing vfx adding to that the music is phenominal and glad that people are supporting it bcs its such a risky project. But i really hope they go beyond that and most importantly serve a good story not just vfx with well written dialouges. Secondly i don't know of others but i do feel prabhas looks extremely odd even others with that suit. Tbh only amitabh, deepika and kamaal seem to perfectly fit the world. (And disha seems like she is wearing some extraordinary make up to avoid any dust on her skin lol). Nonethless just small grips other than that excited for this.

@@itizwhatitiz9560 there's nothing to deny about where the inspirations comes from, it is quiet blatant actually you can pick up right away, when you are making a film in a genre where an particular industry been making since a long time it is not that rare to see the essence of it in something which is made in the present but that's the point right when there's so much inspiration everywhere the little differences are what something to enjoy like the bgm of this movie where it has so much of variety to it.
I think their point is valid about the popular music used in the movie. It kinda ruins the Si-Fi dystopian atmosphere to some degree. I can understand why filmmakers go with this idea given that Indian audiences are very much used to music and can mold into popular music in sci-fi movies without any issues. But they're gonna face some criticism for this from people who have only seen western sci-fi movies which are western audiences in general.

Incorporating Indian mythology with futuristic technology is the best thing about this movie (as it seems). I’d say its quality is on par with hollywood movies and the style also looks a little hollywood-ish. When Bollywood has hit rock bottom, south movies are becoming even better.
My only concern is they don’t push local Indian things like food, clothes, stories etc. alongwith the movies to make them popular abroad, like how hollywood and Japanese animes does it. They still need to understand the importance of these little subtleties which propagates your culture. For example, they could have made ‘samosa’ that little kid’s favourite food and reiterated about it 2-3 times in the movie.

I am hyped and hope this movie does well. Also amazing vfx adding to that the music is phenominal and glad that people are supporting it bcs its such a risky project. But i really hope they go beyond that and most importantly serve a good story not just vfx with well written dialouges. Secondly i don't know of others but i do feel prabhas looks extremely odd even others with that suit. Tbh only amitabh, deepika and kamaal seem to perfectly fit the world.
