  • Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant attempted to return in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, his first game back since suffering a calf injury nearly a month ago.
Durant, though, went down in the first half of the Warriors’ 106-105 win against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, and had to be helped off the floor. The Warriors later announced that Durant had suffered an Achilles injury, ending his season.

This is a very informative video doc! I recently had an achilles injury happen to me as well, yet I only partially tore my achilles so no surgery was required, just rehab. I agree that KD probably had a partially torn achilles at first which is why he was able to walk off pretty solidly off the court, yet in the Finals he probably pushed it too far and made the partially torn achilles into a complete rupture. He was playing incredibly well when it came to shooting in that finals game most likely because when you shoot your sort of just swaying your feet in a jumping motion, but when he made that move and pushed off with the right leg, is where he exerted all the force and made that achilles tear. Which is probably why he needed help off the court that time around. Anyways it fascinates me that this tendon is so vital to playing the game of basketball. Although I'm no professional, I enjoy playing pick up ball and am slowly making my way back to the court. I still struggle with layups and moving freely around the court but im sure more rehab and proper exercise will get me back out there in no time. And im sure KD is probably struggling with the same things, but I do hope for a speedy recovery for KD, I sort of feel like I can feel his pain in not being sure whether you'll ever be able to drive, shoot, crossover, and defend the same way ever again. Anyways sorry for the long comment just had some things on my mind, but thank you Doc for the info!

that was surprising, unless they already knew that it was the Achilles the first time

Any fool who is familiar with a Achilles injury can tell you when he reached back it was a Achilles injury..They knew it was partial tear and let him play anyway!! Incompetent is not enough for what they did..

This wasn't Durant's doctor for the procedure but.....since all of black Americans are either doctors, lawyers or millionaires athletes then this is appropriate

This is bad if the information means that this is the end to the Doctors career in sports medicine.

This doc seriously believes GSW would have allowed KD to come back and play in the NBA Finals with a partially torn Achilles after sitting out more than a month. Just think about that and how unbelievably reckless and dangerous that would be on GSW's part. Also, consider the fact that KD consulted with many doctors including his own private docs before getting the green light to play. This doc is absolutely out of his mind if he thinks GSW would have thrown KD out there if he had a partially torn Achilles. Just clueless. My goodness, what is wrong with you

Delusional fool, KD contract is up for GS they know he’s gonna leave and the majority of doctors that were seen and reviewed his results worked for GS all in hopes of trying to win.

I believe he had a partial Achilles tear. I believe it was misdiagnosed. When Durant returned, the tear advanced to a full separation.
