Jonathan David was released by Belle and Sebastian on Jeepster Recordings on 18th June 2001. Belle and Sebastian made two videos for this song; one with a 1960s theme and one 1970s and both were combined to make the final video.

Dundee's short lived "channel 6" music tv station that existed for a few years used to have a fairly limited selection of videos which they'd repeat endlessly. I think this got played about 5 times a day everyday for 2 years. Great tune. RIP channel 6.

This is pretty terrible vocally and musically.
Idk, dude. I think it's pretty shitty to dump on stuff, on their actual video. Only time I ever remember doing that was to Miley Cyrus. And even that I felt bad for and stopped. But, that said, I wasn't crazy about this one either. They have a LOT of stuff. Try "The Boy With The Arab Strap." If you don't dig that one, yeah, B&S just ain't your cup of tea.
