I properly got into Belle and Sebastian about three years ago now. I started, as most people do, with Arab Strap, and worked my way back and forward suitably. At the time I was with a girl who, despite being perfectly nice, just wasn't doing it for me. But we'd been together for some time and I wasn't really into upsetting the status quo. Yet there was another girl who I, looking back, loved dearly, and I'm fairly sure felt strongly for me too, but I never acted on it, and typically things fell apart. I'd always ignored "Fold Your Hands Child", and listening to this song now, I'm regretting it. I was with the wrong girl, the wrong kind, the wrong hand to be holding. I missed my true love. Safe to say, I now consult Belle and Sebastian in all matters of the heart. I was foolish to not have.
