    My grandma lived in Palmer Park on Ponchartrain in the 80’s 90’s and 2000’s! I knew I recognized this house! Used to pass it all the time on the way to visit her. I miss her dearly🥰 It is a beautiful neighborhood. Funny, tho…not even a block away you find yourself in the hood of Highland Park.

      I don’t think they are, although they look like it to me. The owner explained to me it was from a different time. So that they’re not. Either way, pretty cool, right?

    Unique opportunity for a grand home. Looks like buyer would need to make $500,000 in upgrades and have $200,000 for decoration and furniture.

      Depends on how much historical items you would want to keep. Many owners choose to keep the historical relevance in these types of properties.

    A beautiful home that was renovated through the years by someone that didn't know what they were doing. Hopefully, someone that has some knowledge about historical architecture can bring it back to it's former glory.

    Beautiful home, never could replace that.Actually, we have a good friend who just bought a home down the street from there two years ago, she lived in Grosse Pointe, always wanted to live in the city, her husband passed and at 61 years old turned around and bought a huge home about six doors down from it, she absolutely loves living there, her home is not as big as that one ,but it’s big enough about 4000 ft.² she gutted the thing She just loves being there. Her property taxes are extremely high, but she’s pretty lucky to have very deep pockets and could care less, said now or never.. don’t forget the best donuts in the city ,Dutch girl donuts ,since the 1920s ,has reopened totally authentically ,just about a mile away !

      @LIVINGINDETROIT  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That's my old stomping grounds, I've recently found out a lot of the folks that lived in that area was passing to say the least. The government said it not me, I've seen family & government documents back in slavery & Jim Crow times that whites wrote to back it up 💯.

    The amount of renovations needed is ridiculous. I noticed major roof and wall damage. Major water issues. The tiles on the roof are irreplaceable. Electrical and insulation questionable. It would cost 3million above the asking price to renovate and make presentable

    • @ride1157
      @ride1157 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with some of your comments the home certainly needs a ton of work I walked the house myself and live in a 1927 English Tudor revival and have gone through a major restoration when we purchased. I would legitimately say this house needs more like 1-1.5 million to be perfect. Still a huge amount. Sadly most of the damage could’ve been prevented had they trimmed the trees back and did basic maintenance of cleaning gutters. The roof is in fairly decent shape but does need attention for sure, needs stucco and Timbers etc. and much more. We just spent 75k “fixing” our slate roof and replacing old copper dormer tops with new copper. It’s not cheap at all but I imagine a person buying a home like this knows exactly what they’re getting into, it’s a painful labor of love.

      @@ride1157 yes great comments there and it’s just so interesting to know that there are more than a few people with very deep pockets who are more than interested to redo this sort of project, hats off to them for being able to and to have the ambition
