    If you don't want to narrate your video, it would be useful to annotate what you are doing. Even though it looks like a good and useful video it's almost useless without knowing why you do certain things in the video.

    Please leave a comment if you don't understand the workflow. I will try my best to explain it. Thanks.

    Could you have any tutorial to make the ship's hull?

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, I do not have any public tutorial on ship hull making.
      If you are building surface from point-based GF files... it can be tricky as accuracy may have to be sacrificed for loose tolerance of the points. Maybe can try an iterative process involving patch (for surfaces trhrough the points), sweep 2, networksurface command.
      Regards.

    Hi dear Sim, would the end result be okay if you omit the EndBulge process? Thanks!

    • @croschan7731
      @croschan7731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And also what if you don't remove the knotlines?

    • @croschan7731
      @croschan7731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sim, I just tried building this model without applying MultiMatch (I matched each edge of the formed surface independently), EndBulge and knotlines removal, the results also turned out to be fine with both zebra and environment map check. Therefore, I'd like to know, what is the purposes of applying either MultiMatch, EndBulge or knotlines removal? Regards. :)

      And another question I'd like to ask is that, while doing the matching, how do you decide whether to apply "Preserve isocurve direction" or "Match target isocurve direction"? During my attempt, I do that by viewing the visual effect of the surface in the preview. Sometimes if you choose "Match target isocurve direction", the surface would go wrong. How about you? How did you make the decision? Thanks once again. ;)

      @@croschan7731 Hi, the end bulge is for fine control of the curve profile. I think individual match instead of multimatch is also ok. Eh.. the isocurve direction, i think depends of the situation. I just use the zebra to check. To be honest, Rhino is not really top-end software for NURBS surfacing.. I just have to see how the result is like and then respond accordingly. Thanks.

    Patch command in rhino is so bad compared to fusion. What is your impression of fusion's patch vs xnurbs?

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. I do not have experience with Fusion so am not in the position to evaluate it. As for XNURBS it is a very good tool. It can significantly reduce the amount of time needed to model objects with good surface continuity.

    How are you able to make a straight line in a perspective mode after you put two point. Time : 00:50. I am confused a bit.

      Hi.. so sorry for these early soundless video. You got to use the Osnap (perp) and press TAB key to establish the direction of the line.
