Hi, you can right-mouse click over the view (eg Top, perspective, etc) label. Then go to the Display Option. Go to View >> Objects>> Curve. Then set the desired curve width. Cheers.

Nice tutorial! I believe the problems you had with that surface has to do with the patch command. I am going to give it a try without patch.
