    I LOVE saving money by creating meal plans and shopping for my weekly groceries based on my plan! I use what I have on hand and complete each week with minimal grocery shopping! I also love to create mini meal plans between $10-30 to also boost my budget! A typical week of groceries is about $100 for the two of us, but some weeks we spend zero by using pantry ingredients and other weeks we do extreme budget meal plans!

    What’s your weekly grocery budget and for how many people?😊

    My family of 2 spends $50 - $75/wk eating 80% whole food plant based. Chicken, fish or egg whites are a treat (cholesterol reduction in progress). We eat according to what is in season or on sale, prep & eat whatever is leftover every 4 days. We don't drink anything but water, seltzer water, tea or dairy free hot cocoa so it saves us quite a bit. Took a year to get to this point, but so glad we did it!

    I don't think you wanna hear mine - we are a family of 6 and utilize a LOT of convenience foods as well as lots of drinks so we spend about 2k a month in the new england area. It's pricey here and we have some pricey bad habits. BUT you do inspire me to make more budget meals!

      @flourishingmiranda  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I do want to hear EVERYONES because each family does what works best for them!
      Like if you have older kids in a lot of activities, sometimes convenience is MORE important than a home cooked meal because of limited time!
      And if you have big kids, they eat a LOT🤣❤️👏🏻

    We are a family of 3. We live in Ohio. Me, 53, son 21 and daughter 16. I'm WFPB. My kids don't care what I make. Because of our crazy schedules, I meal prep for the week 2-3 different meals. Now, for the total...$400 a month. I shop at Aldi. I do lots of home made baked goods, roasted veggies with baked potatoes, pasta dishes and salads.

    We tend to spend up to £150/month for 2 vegans living in North West England :) I shop multiple stores to find the best prices, buy discounted food and certain items that we use up a lot of, like rice or spices, I buy in bulk. We tend to look through our cupboards, come up with a meal plan using items we already have on hand and buy any additional things we need. Been more intentional when it comes to food budget and cooking this last year and it feels awesome to not waste as much food (was definitely an issue before due to poor planning!) x

    Ok, I had to pause the video and tell you we bought a 5lb bag of carrots bc they were the same price as the 3lb bag, on sale….only $2.99! 😲 Roasted carrots and pickled carrots here we come!

    Family of 3. I think we spend 300-500 a month. Last month we spent very little because we all got sick and I just totally stopped shopping. I stopped tracking and budgeting this year (not proud of that. But life.) I plan to get back on track next year. The biggest issue I was having was all 3 of us eat so differently so I gotta figure that out lol.

    • @flourishingmiranda
      @flourishingmiranda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think you HAVE to track of budget, depending on your lifestyle ❤️ I think if you’re like me, I often see someone do something I may want to be better at and I feel bad for it instantly but than I quickly pause and think well how I do XYZ is working for me / us and it’s okay to not do EVERYTHING! I budget for groceries but that’s it! ❤️ and I only do it because I enjoy it!

    I don’t have a budget 🙈 but I average about 150 a week for my family of 3- myself a tween and a teen. But there was a time when I had to stretch that amount per MONTH literally shopping dollar tree for everything. Food was cheaper then too but my staples were oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, quesadillas, hamburger helper mix made with mushrooms, fried rice, beans and cornbread ofc😅

    I try to shop the sale fruit and veggies first then from there protein like tofu and beans whatever is on sale. Search for healthy carbs on sale from potatoes, sweet potatoes, quinoa, rice, oats or pasta. Frozen veggies on sale. Then I supplement the groceries with snack foods like celery, peanuts, popcorn, peanut butter, crackers, cereal on sale. The most expensive thing we buy weeklies are 12 pk seltzer water and diet soda.

    • @flourishingmiranda
      @flourishingmiranda  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a “soda” and sparkling water budget. It’s not something we buy weekly or all the time, but we do buy it when it goes on sale if we want to!

    I usually just go shopping once or twice a month and spend between one and two hundred a month for me alone. 🇨🇦 Expensive but relative to you guys. I have some financial goals for the new year and beyond so I am going to cap it at $125 per month or less. I don’t want to go more than twice a month. I am also doing a pantry challenge when my son goes home January 2nd. ❤

    We budget 125 a week for 5. (Doesn't necessarily mean we spend it all). 2 teenagers, 2 adults and one 7 year old. We do garden so I would say an extra 10 bucks a week is saved bc of that. We do eat meat but will eat meatless meals about once a week

    We probably spend about $200 a week for 3 people, but there are times when I don't shop at all for 2 weeks at a time. We always need milk and fresh veggies, but frozen goes a long way, especially bulk from Costco!
