Crocodile was actively stopping most of the pirates coming into the grand line, so I think he was doing his job quite well
But most of them were pretty weak. He didnt stopp 1 of the "Worst Generation". Same goes for Moria.

I mean, in moriah's defense, while he wasn't actively hunting pirates like weavil, he was acting as a bit of a spiderweb for other pirates, luring them in and trapping/killing them via shadow tomfuckery

Also hes quite underrated. He isnt weak in the slightest imo and Jimbei hard countering him with salt water and losing to luffy because he lost control of the shadows he began posessing and luffy taking advantage of that by wrecking him with Gear 2 and 3 combos which left luffy in a rather bad state wasnt doing him any favours(wasnt the only reason he was in such a bad state, but I digress).

@@Jayzo.1 I'd say it wasn't that Kaido was weak, but Moriah was much stronger at that time. His fight against Kaido traumatized him and now he is a shadow of his former self, unable to use his most powerful moves like Shadow Asgard.
I mean on the books, Buggy has an even better profile.

-Has fought the wb pirates on several occasions and survived all of them
-Commands a massive fleet
-Allies with Red Haired Shanks
-One of the ringleaders of the Impel Down breakout
Don't forget, he also went toe-to-toe with Mihawk and the Three Admirals, and walked away with barely a scratch
I feel that if you bumped down Kuma for his relation to the revolutionaries then I think that Mihawk should have had points deducted for spending two years to train the right hand of a man who has time and time again proven himself to be a monumental threat to the government, and so by training Zoro he has in turn strengthened the revolution that is Luffy
To be fair he could have easily convinced the world government that he was training up a suitable successor to his position focusing on that bounty hunter portfolio instead
crocodile suffers from being an early villain more than any other character in the series.
like, even at the paramount war, the man could hang with his contemporaries like mihawk, and even dared challenge whitebeard. the man we saw post-impel down is hard to be imagined being beaten by even post-gear luffy.
but, the facts are as they stand, and crocodile did get beaten by vanilla!rubberman, so D is fine with me. shedding that warlord title made him stronger probably.

I love Crocodile but yeah D is ok like he was killing Rookie pirates but was all a facade to get Pluton and overthrown Alabasta and the Government. The only thing that kinda annoys me is ppl thinking "he is so weak" when he was close to kill Luffy 3 times even poisoning him in the third fight with barely putting any effort (which was his downfall he was to arrogant to take Luffy seriously)
Luffy fought crocodile 3 times and lost twice. I don’t count that as weak imo, Luffy collected data on his opponent at that point
I always find the argument that Luffy beat Crocdile to be a bit disingenuous, Crocodile was clearly rattled in there last fight and was being stupid after failing to get Pluton, all he needed to do was fly out of the chamber and collapse it and he'd win. The brawl wasn't smart nor what he'd normally do he was just angry and fucked up once.
I would argue that Gecko Moria, weak as he is; was doing his job in Thriller Bark. He was guardian the Florian Triangle and scaring pirates away with the legends around it, and he kind of did the job (not in a perfect way, but I wouldn't say he was the worst).
Yeah, it's a poorly defined job. Basically strong pirates peppered around the grand line to serve as obstacles to intrepid pirates looking for the One Piece. All they have to do is promise not to look for the One Piece and discourage or prevent pirates from sailing through their turf.
Mihawk obviously S teir. The possibility of running into this dude on a tiny boat who can sink an entire fleet without breaking a sweat and then chase the survivors all the way back into one of the blues to finish them off because they interrupted his fucking nap is pretty discouraging.
But literally eating every boat that sails into your area and turning every pirate you meet into a subordinate, shadowless zombie thing seems to do the job as well.
No clue what Crocs was trying to pull off though. The only pirates he'd gum up with his shenanigans are the Strawhats... and maybe the Whitebeards. I can't imagine a pirate like Alvida taking the time to stick around and help. She's hiding out for a few days and then fucking off entirely from their situation.
@@ANunes06 Crocodile was actually doing a pretty decent job, he had bounty hunters in most of the starting islands which took care of alot of the the weaker pirates. While it doesn’t seem like much, the weaker pirates were probably the ones who actually acted like pirates and pilaged and killed enough innocent people to warrant a bounty
its funny that for being the "weak one", moria still has one of the most impressive strength feats in the series, with only jozu whitebeard and arguably garp being comparable pre-time skip, and only till you get to some of luffy's gear 4 arsenal do you get comparable feats.

A reminder that Moria is but a husk of his former self after Kaido massacred his entire crew. He was stated to be a rival of Kaido up until that point, which leads to believe that he was way up there in power level.

Head canon that the World Government agreed to disband the Warlords because they were tired of replacing them after they were defeated by Luffy. Doesn't help that they actively kick out Warlords too weak and one is even a slave. By the time the Warlords were disbanded, there were only four active Warlords, one of which is incredibly weak. It's no wonder the World Government decided to disband them.
I mean if the WG made Ai robots that can rival Yonkos fk they need to waste tax money on hiring Warlords lol its kinda like the farmer thing about replacing humans with machines
Agreed... Either they got taken down by Luffy or allied with him (Law, Jimbei, Boa (in secret), Mihawk (kinda by training Zorro, hence helping the SH), Kuma (helped them escape buster call)). Croc tecnically even falls into both of these categories lol

I think Crocodile is a bit underrated. Sure, he is a bit weak, but after breaking out of Impel Down dude fought half of the world. Like, he fought Mihawk, he fought Doflamingo, and all these powerful warlords, so while he didn't stand a chance, he was cool and I think he isn't that weak. Also, his devil fruit is kind of interesting: it is not only a logia but it has the ability to drain anything, so that's there to.
My favourite fan-theory for weevil is that he is in fact whitebeard's biological son, but bacchin isn't his mother.
I just realized something, Dofy never intended to take his revange with his own hands, his goal was to support Kaido as much as he could so Kaido could start a huge war and do all the damage and chaos for him.

I Don't really think that was the case . I know it's an exaggeration but if doffy was alive for anothee 15-20 years he could master advanced conqs haki and probably become an emperor. I mean whoever has conqs haki can become an emperor if u work hard

Going back and watching these vids again is great. It shows how much changes in under 2 years. At the time all this stuff is valid. But now that Croco-boy got confirmed Haki in the sbs joined cross guild with a 1.9B bounty, boa fought Blackbeard and defeated 2 of his commanders, Jinbe getting 1.1B bounty, Law looking even more like a member of SWORD with each chapter he’s in and much more just shows how deep each character’s story goes. Ik not all of this is primarily relevant to the Shichibukai but to be fair none of them were actually good at their “jobs” hence why the Warlords don’t exist anymore. Love this series
Kuma was pretty good at his job. Also law is more likely to join the revolutionaries.

In Hancock's defense, we haven't really seen her struggle in a fight, so she could be much stronger than we even realize. Hell for all we know she could be the strongest among them when she's going all out

Agreed. We've seen her handle a Pacifista with no issue (took all of the pre timeskip Straw Hats to take down one) and we know she has Conquerors. It's non-canon but she was also one of the few characters able to damage Bullet's monster form if I remember right. We probably won't see it but I'd love to see her fight Koby

The world government admittedly did make a huge mistake by making blackbeard a warlord, though at the time it probably looked like a pretty good deal, because they got Ace out of it.
Just a side note: Mihawk is responsible for a post timeskip zoro, and training luffy’s right hand man to be a beast should at least mean no higher than A tier.
Mihawk having bit of a side hustle as Zoro's fencing coach and then setting him back out into the world, isn't him directly working against World Goverment in anyway though and it kinda falls alongside his bottanist and lawyer hobby as an off-duty activity, that is unrelated to his position as a warlord. Like a cop babysitting a kid, who turns into a criminal doesn't automatically make them any worse of a cop.
Also there's just no way around the fact, that Mihawk's the most effective warlord for the system's purposes of displaying power. If there's any single warlord, who singlehandedly lends credence to the idea of Shichibukai as third world power alongside Yonkou and Marines, that's him.
He is still knowingly helping one of the more notorious member of the worst generation and thus also indirectly helping Luffy who has been the biggest trouble for the world gowernment. And that is an act agains the WG even if he doesn't do it for that reason.
@@csabagellertjaczina5086 Yes, but it's not an action comparable to any of the ones that caused other shichibukai on this ranking to lose points, cause it doesn't cast his loyalty or intentions into question in any way. His actions were neutral from stand point of his position and allegiance to world government, cause he was under no obligation to kill or capture Zoro and while him training Zoro almost certainly proofs detrimental to World Goverment somewhere down the line, that's not why he did it.
Mihawk training Zoro doesn't lessen his effectiveness as a warlord any more than Garp being Dragon's father and Luffy's Grandfather lessens his effectiveness as a Marine.

Technically Zoro's first canonical loss then is to Helmeppo/Morgan. It was also a loss that, if Luffy hadn't come along, would have also been his last loss since he would have either starved or been executed.

WG underestimated the usefulness of Gecko Moria. Dude can create a zombie army. He should be in Impel Down removing shadows from the inmates and putting them in new bodies. Not only would he provide extra security because when a inmate escapes they gets vaporized as soon the sun touches their skin, it also would create new zombies that could fight for the WG.

The thing about Hancock is that she basically only beats fodder characters since we see when she tries it on Luffy it doesn't work this is because he has bigger priorities than dating, I also think this same logic would apply to anyone she would consider an actual threat to the Isle Of Women the love fruit would not work on them leaving her to try beat them with only her haki which as we see when Blackbeard wins against her will not always work.
its not about datin, if u are attracted to her, her df works. and she is not weak at all. Aokiji precisely said that she is not to be underestimated and implied she is at least on a superior tier to Doffy. her recent bounty of 1.7 Bill also indicates how much of a threat she is to the WG.

Crocodile was actually doing a decent job (aside from the whole global domination thing) Baroque Works had multiple bounty hunter villages in the starter islands. While they couldn’t kill stronger pirates, they probably prevented lots of raids and deaths by killing a bunch of the weaker pirates that actually acted like pirates and pillaged islands

I'm ready to see Gecko Moria being underrated as usual, even though he has shown to be a lot like Luffy the last time we saw him...
And i was right, Liam tends to forget that Moria was litterally stealing the shadows or corpses of approximately 1000 pirates (which means he either killed them or they were stuck in the Florian Triangle due to a lack of shadows) that tried to get to the new world. Moria is thus one of the WG's most effective newbie-pirate-hunters, who kept a lot of crews from venturing into the new world, where they would most likely have served as reinforcements for Kaido, Big Mom or Blackbeard.

@@Storm-_-rider There is a lot of debate but the general consensus is that Haki doesn't actually work on Buggy as his devil fruit automatically splits him before the sword properly even hits his body. As well as the fact Haki lets them touch a devil fruit user's true body, which doesn't apply to Buggy considering he is in his true body already.
This is my 65th grandline review and I still have not lost even a single game and I plan to watch all 1k video without losing 1 time

Buggy actually perfectly illustrates two of the key parts of a great pirate: respect and reputation. Buggy has the respect/love of his subordinates (like Luffy, shanks, white beard, etc), instead of their fear or a sense of mutual benefit. And his reputation got him into roles faster than most. Not to mention, he’s incredibly smart (a gifted chemist and implemented the marine bounty system)

I feel like you sleep on crocodiles power as Oda said he regrets bringing him into the story so early which is why he was shown to be vastly more powerful at marineford and I would say he has grown since.

Even if he factually cannot do it as a lone man, it's fun to imagine him destroying entire Emperor general armies with no assistance, and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch, either. Yeah I think moria deserves a d tier because he seems to be stronger than crocodile and does take out a lot of pirates. And he did end up going when he was called.
Also I think crocodile deserves c tier. He did kill a lot of pirates and had the respect of everyone in the region. So even though he's weak compared to other warlords. The world government probably wants a warlord stationed on the early first half of the grand line catching pirates. And alabasta, being the largest country around, is probably the best place to have a warlord.

HUHHHHHHH, as you said, part of being a Warlord means actively taking down other pirates. Which the Kuja (that's where they got supplies) and Moria were doing in spades. Buggy literally just used his status to start a business. Also I saw the shade against Hancock's power levels and I'm not about it.
