Agree hawkins was a cool character design/idea. I'm truely sad he didn't flip in the end to join the fight against kaido/big mom. Even if he got the drake/appo treatment and was mostly off screened by cp0 i think it would have been better for his character seeing a long shot but being sick of playing it to safe and realized he was doomed no matter what now, so he decided to give it one last go. And because killer would need a new fight he can fight some gifters/other headliners. The gifters were made into jokes, it might have been nice to see a FEW of them be actual threats.
Dropping a bunch of pirate hearts on Sakazuki's doorstep is absolutely a great valentine day present for him. Don't think we didn't see the way you had him shaking in excitement at that.
The only good thing I can say about Hawkins is that his defeat made him an interesting character him not betraying kaido came more from his fate of picking wrong side. Is tarot cards ultimately only gave him percentages and he chooses what to do next based on the percentage of certain things happening. He knew there was a high chance that he could die but he also knew kaido and Big Mom had a good chance to win so in the name of self-preservation which is essentially his entire gimmick he sided with kaido and Big Mom, and Even when his side started to lose, He stood by his choice, if this was to be his fate He was going to accept it. He made his bed and punk out when it came time to sleep in it.
I genuinely think Kaido was still stronger than G5 Luffy, but only gave 80% because of his depressive/suicidal tendencies. That and the fact that we still have 3-4 arcs to go and it would be narratively boring if Luffy is already the absolute strongest in the world now.

Law and Kidd are just so damn cool. Their design, devil fruit, personality. Just what I personally love in characters. They were S Tier already to me when I first saw them^^

Let's not even discuss how on the roof Kidd said they couldn't do anything to hybrid Kaido at all yet an injured broken bones Zoro managed to leave a scar and make the hybrid form squirt blood. Calling them "Luffy's rivals" now is really an insult to Luffy.

I just assumed that Hawkins' tarot thing was, like, a unique form of observation haki. Like future sight but not as immediately useful. Probability sight haki. But as we were showwn, sometimes knowing the percentages to something won't help you.

The concept goes "If you give a player too much information and too much control they will optimize the fun out of the game". I forgot what game they were talking about but it was a game about making decisions. And the decisions you make will either help you or come back to bite you later on the playthrough, and the goal for the game is to ask the player to weigh in the pros and cons of each decision and pick the right choice. Where the game went wrong is when the decisions that the game gave you have numbers and stats attached and so what happened is that players stop basing their decisions on the written prompt and started operating by the numbers. And this is why the lack of ambition from Hawkins feels justified. The more he relied on the numbers to make decision made him unable to act outside the influence of his cards. If his cards tell him to bet on Kaido then he is going the to do it not because of his ambition or grand plan but because the cards told him it was the right one.
Diez Drake was my favorite pre tineskip. But then they had to downgrade his Devil Fruit from T-Rex to Allosaurus for no reason, and then give him NOTHING of Substance in the entire Wano Arc. Like...why. couldn't you have him fight Smoothie? Or Something?

He participated in a lot of uprisings against the world government, is incredibly powerful, the WORST at directions & is the only one to have literally encountered Death as a character. Monk and Eustas are my favorites. The ability to get stronger by taking damage and if Eustas would use his abilities better more ppl would like him. His showcase beside law was overwhelmingly one sided. There was no way to get one up on anyone on top of that roof. But hey he showed up. And he is becoming stronger. By the end of the series if he ever comes back I hope his ability turns more into a manipulation of energy ability. The gause cannon was cool but turn him into iron man next lol.

But at the same time, he creates mechs on the fly, so maybe more respect needs to be put on his intelligence than strength. That isn't something that gets enough attention. His devil fruit pulls all the pieces to a spot, but he has to put them in the correct place to create his mechs.

Unlike luffy and zoro he doesn’t have haki that has durability negation so the large mechs allowed him to use crushing force which r internal damage type attacks. Against less durable opponents kid will most likely be able to use a much larger array of abilities.

I'm glad someone else called out Hawkins. Easily the worst supernova. His existence was basically the antithesis of a pirate's spirit. Luffy described the king of the pirates as the freest person of all. But Hawkins is the least free pirate in the show, he's a slave to his card readings. The only known occasion in which he goes against the probability in his favour is when he (presumably) dies. Laaaaaaame.

Urouge is like Bonney pre egghead. Neither had an arc to directly catch us up on what they’ve been doing post timeskip. They were both pretty one demensional characters but now Bonney is getting shine. I expect urouge reintroduction arc is coming next. Given that he was able to match a pacifista 1v1 pre timeskip and defeated a sweet commander I’d say he’s gonna be pretty strong and interesting once we get to really know him.

I believe you can make an argument to put Zorro higher on this list. He participated in a lot of uprisings against the world government, is incredibly powerful, the WORST at directions & is the only one to have literally encountered Death as a character.

Monk and Eustas are my favorites. The ability to get stronger by taking damage and if Eustas would use his abilities better more ppl would like him. His showcase beside law was overwhelmingly one sided. There was no way to get one up on anyone on top of that roof. But hey he showed up. And he is becoming stronger. By the end of the series if he ever comes back I hope his ability turns more into a manipulation of energy ability. The gause cannon was cool but turn him into iron man next lol.
No please 😭 Eustass is my favorite BECAUSE of his probably not at all effective big ass arms dont make him anything like anyone else, magnetism is such a generic ability at least he uses it in a unique way
@@frankmalditx Don't get me wrong, his fucking knowledge of robotics is pretty on point. It's not Vega punk or Franky knowledge. But at the same time, he creates mechs on the fly, so maybe more respect needs to be put on his intelligence than strength. That isn't something that gets enough attention. His devil fruit pulls all the pieces to a spot, but he has to put them in the correct place to create his mechs.
@@cerberus3491 the thing about kids giant mechs is that they were the only thing that could hurt people as durable as kaido or big mom. Unlike luffy and zoro he doesn’t have haki that has durability negation so the large mechs allowed him to use crushing force which r internal damage type attacks. Against less durable opponents kid will most likely be able to use a much larger array of abilities.

you forgot that Uroge was the only other pirate that put a serious dent in Douglass in Stampede. They all got washed, but he didn't go down without doing something so I think Oda was trying to tell us something.

This means that he has the word Ace in his name, that should be enough to bump him up to the fomo tier at least maybe the sun god tier too if i do say so myself. I'm glad someone else called out Hawkins. Easily the worst supernova. His existence was basically the antithesis of a pirate's spirit. Luffy described the king of the pirates as the freest person of all. But Hawkins is the least free pirate in the show, he's a slave to his card readings. The only known occasion in which he goes against the probability in his favour is when he (presumably) dies. Laaaaaaame.

Only one I don’t think is fair is Urouge. He’s just…nothing. I feel like Bonney had a rough time specifically because she’s done something and been relevant, and at least Hawkins had some actions (I think he’s a good example of someone with potential being quelled by Emperors) - but Urouge just kinda exists somewhere in the world
Urouge is like Bonney pre egghead. Neither had an arc to directly catch us up on what they’ve been doing post timeskip. They were both pretty one demensional characters but now Bonney is getting shine. I expect urouge reintroduction arc is coming next. Given that he was able to match a pacifista 1v1 pre timeskip and defeated a sweet commander I’d say he’s gonna be pretty strong and interesting once we get to really know him.
