      @@mickaellandry9726 I won't stop, mentally,yes, physically it's the same,if you want clarity,go watch the 2010 and 2011 semis between fed and Novak that both went to 5 setters,Novak was clutch in both semis, actually the 2010 semis performance was much better 'cause he erased both the match points with some great shotmaking and foreheads,on the other side the 2011 semis was a choke, also quality wise the 2010 semis was better,2011 semis was kinda error fest,and Rafa was clearly no where near his 2010 level,he was bombing 124 -128 speed in the 2010 tournament, where in the 2011 final he was barely reaching 103 mark,the commentator at one point said even Serena would serve better than Rafa, that badly he served,he broke Novak 2-3 times in the first two sets but he never got his serve going, also he was not going for any of his shots, highly defensive, Novak was a mental giant in 2011 compared to 2010, apart from that I didn't find much of difference,a 2010 Nadal would be a great Match for him in 2011

    This might have been Rafa's best performance ever. I know the '08 French Open looked more dominant on paper, but Federer probably accepted fate in that 3rd set. I think Novak fought hard 'til the end but Rafa was too much to handle on his best day. Here Rafa moved exceptionally well, and hit the ball extremely hard and incorporated some of his best defense.

    I was there... Rain-delayed final moved to Monday. I boarded a standby flight and made it to LGA right after work from DC. They played 3 sets and then another long rain delay...I had to decide if I was going to ride it out and miss my flight home or stay there. Long story short, I slept at LaGuardia that night but I witnessed history :) Didn't regret a thing* Full Story: www.jctennis.com/2010/09/my-last-minute-journey-to-us-open-final.html

      I remember this well too. So bummed that I couldn’t watch it at work since it was on a Monday. I taped it and didn’t listen to the news. When I got home, i turned on the tv and they were preparing for the trophy presentation already and I was dying to see who looks happier than the two of them. Then the camera showed Novak just sitting on his chair emotionless, I almost fell.

    The most underrated Finals US open 2010 & 2011
    Djokovic in 2010 played perfect but Nadal played a alien insane level
    The same happened next year Nadal played perfect but Djokovic played as iron man
    If they finished both 3-2 in 5 sets it would be appreciated more than current time

    • @manunarine3529
      @manunarine3529 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      nah the difference was the serve.....2010 was Nadal's peak year especially the US open where he changed the grip for this tournament and was serving constantly over 200 kph with flatter serve.....he couldn't continue doing it because it put a lot of strain on his shoulders and in 2011 his serve was almost trash and he still managed to give a good fight but it wasn't enough.....had Nadal served like he did in this tournament for his entire career, he would have like 30 GS.....Nadal in 2010 US open was the Peak level for a tennis player

  • @skychaos87
    @skychaos87 5 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    There's so much power when Nadal plays flat. Too bad he did that only in that tournament once and never did it again.

      The future is Unity Where is AO 2014, 2017, 2019, Wimbly 2019, USO 2013, 2017?? (Maybe some events better than others but still very good hardcourt tennis from Rafa)
      In USO 2010 it was all about his serve (best in his career, no question). Moreover, here we can clearly see how Rafa wins against Nole. High top spin balls to Noles backhand, good down the line forehands as also good variation in Rafas backhand with a lot of slices, flat cross court and down the line. All this mixed with good agression and net plays.
      Btw this is exactly the way that Rafa won against Nole in Rome 2019. Even though the surfaces are different the tactics are exactly the same.

    • @brianmannion7097
      @brianmannion7097 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@diegoartazcoz2390 High top spin balls to Noles backhand was never a problem for him. Djokovic was never hitting balls consistently near the baseline during rallies and that made Nadal dictate a lot more points than say 2011 US Open final. Nadal was less aggressive and more defensive that year with a weaker serve and Djokovic that improved and learned how to play against Nadal.
