9 Years ago, Rafael Nadal produced one of the greatest / most brutal performances in Tennis history against the man who just beat Roger Federer in straight sets in the 4th round of a grand slam.
This tournament is considered by many Rafa fans as Rafa's best ever performance on hard courts specially after beating Novak Djokovic in the final.

@@patcisz3474 might’ve still done better than Roberto bc Fed has experience playing Nadal & might muster up some Federer magic as he always does, especially with a big crowd showing. Roberto looked like he did not know how to handle Nadal’s groundstrokes at all. He stood too far back & let himself get dominated by the Nadal topspin. He did not know how to play against balls coming that high with the addition of pace that Nadal can bring. He needed to learn how to hit against Nadal on the spot, but never figured it out. He could’ve took a chance on taking balls on the rise, but didn’t.

No arrogance here, but i remember saying to my friends before this match , at least one set will end 6-0.
The problem for Robredo in this matchup against Nadal is :
He doesnt have power in his groundstrokes ,he doesnt have a big serve and on the other side ,Nadal
    doesnt give you anything.
So ,literally there is no path for Robredo to win the point .

He lost to Horacio Zeballos in a clay final, Djokovic in Monte Carlo, almost went down 2 sets to 0 to Brands at the French Open, got straight setted by Darcis in round 1 at Wimbledon and did nothing at the AO. To add to that, he sucked in the fall, losing to Djokovic in Beijing, Del Potro at Shanghai, David Ferrer in Paris and Djokovic in the WTF's. Moreover, the FO semis and USO finals easily could have gone the other way.

@@MKD1101 Barty just did it for the money. Hates the sport. Hated it so much she didnt just quit once she quit twice.
Normally players will announce and play another few months but Barty really had no passion.
Dissapointing as i coach young girls in her country and its really awkward when they ask why did she stop.

2013 Nadal was very good, but overrated.

    • @afterthesmash
      @afterthesmash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I've seen this so many times before. It only took me five seconds to find example the same "logic" applied to Mike Tyson by some random guy on the intertubes.
_Yes, he is overrated. He did unify the title and made HWs interesting again. But he fought in a fading division and cleaned house. That's a good feat. But he never beat any greats in their prime. He got beaten by Holyfield and Lewis. Even Bowe was said to be better, considering he beat Holyfield. Mike was a young power puncher. A good fighter with decent skills. But against the greats in their prime, he got mopped. Not just beaten, but manhandled. That being said, would it have been different if he never went to prison? Unfortunately, we won't know. But boxers aren't great for what “Could've been". They are great for what they did/do. Mike is overrated._
Maybe you agree with this. I don't. The truth is that Mike was terrifying and heavyweight fights turn on a dime. Even those who purportedly "manhandled" Mike, muttered a heartfelt prayer at the end of any fight where they emerged with all their faculties (and body parts) still intact.
Which begs the question: overrated by whom?
_The Federer-Nadal rivalry is a modern-day tennis rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Considered one of the greatest-ever tennis rivalries, Federer and Nadal have played each other 40 times, with Nadal leading the overall head-to-head 24-16 and in finals 14-10._
_Of their 40 matches, 20 have been on hard court (14 of them in outdoor hard court and 6 on indoor hard court), 16 have been on clay, and 4 have been on grass. Federer leads on grass (3-1) and indoor hard court (5-1). Nadal leads on clay (14-2) and outdoor hard court (8-6)._
_A total of 14 matches have been in majors with Nadal leading 10-4. Nadal leads 6-0 at the French Open and 3-1 at the Australian Open, while Federer leads 3-1 at Wimbledon._
It takes a lot longer than five seconds to find some chump on the intertubes who thinks that Federer is overrated (such a person would almost certainly spin a long, incriminating litany out of his many losses to Nadal).
Based on their 14 matches in the majors, it's an easy argument that Nadal is better than Federer, and _nobody_ with any clue at all thinks that Federer is overrated by anyone with a clue at all.
Yes, people without a clue manage to spin hyperbolic even concerning Ruth, Ali, Orr, Shaq, Jordan, Gretzky, Woods, Federer, or the Big Unit. But those people aren't worth discussing in the first place by anyone with a clue.
_After struggling with his control early in his career, Johnson went on to lead his league in strikeouts nine times, and in earned run average, winning percentage, and complete games four times each._
If you're a big enough fan of Nolan or Clemens, you could even claim that Johnson is overrated by those who don't share your favorite flavour of goat connoisseurship.
Mostly these "overrated" diatribes are just a lame way to tilt the landscape where a legitimate conversation would have instead proven more fruitful.
