Spoiler warning. - Paradise is the first in timeline, in the 1700s roughly 100 years before hotel. - Roots take place during hotel, the puzzle involving observing animals through a telescope in root seems to be canon to the timeline. - Crow is one of the brothers of the Venderboom in root and uncle of James. When drinking elixir, one died and become ghost(PC), the other one survive and end up working in the hotel. - Cube escape are mostly came after the three Rusty Lake Game in timeline. Conjectures: - Jakob most likely did end up becoming an immortal wereowl at the end of Paradise. - The island of Hotel and Paradise are the same.
Good points and guesses, but one thing to say is that there aren't 3 games in the rusty lake series, there's 12. Nine of the games in the series are free, short games that are considered part of the story and do reveal a fair bit more. Namely figuring out how the Venderboom tie into everything with roots, who the baby was, who the man in the ascending elevator is, who and what the hotel guests really were/are, and what Mr. Owl's entire motivation is for all of this. Things like that.

Rose and baby 2.0 are most likely not involve in the prequels as far as I have seen. Still figuring out if they are involved in cube escape. Hotel's PC is also still a mystery to me, within the timeline he could be Jakob, or his father or brother or not related at all it is hard to say what exactly happen at the end of paradise. My theory for hotel is that Jakob became Mr Owl and has been sacrificing memory cubes to the lake to appease his mom who is now Lady of the Lake. The animal could be his family who gain immortality after sacrificing him, their reincarnated soul, or just some asshole who share similar traits to his family. Deer/father being obsessive toward knowledge, Rabbit/brother being a trickster, Boar/Uncle being a brute. Maybe grandma was torturing her children before like Pigeon? I am not sure if the sister was willing to kill herself for attentions. But ya, maybe some symbolism in cube escape will narrow down the answer, so far it still escape me.

this game and the cube escape stuff is so weird. here you're making a bloody mary for a deer with his own blood taken from breaking off one of his antlers, water from the lake that you just took out with a bucket you found lying around the room, tabasco sauce that drips from the nostrils of the deerskull in the room and then finally poison from a mysterious plant grown by putting a seed you found inside a moth into a little jar which grew to full size in seconds giving you seeds which you ground up, rendered into liquid poison, put into his drink and served AS HE WAS WATCHING YOU FROM HIS SEAT THE WHOLE TIME

Jesse, I'm surprised you never played ALL the games, Rusty Lake AND Cube Escape. You would find out so much more. In Rusty Lake Roots you also didn't finish the game; you never got all the family secrets at the end, which actually make more sense when you play the Cube Escape games.

Die Hard 3 gallon problem: You have 3 gallon bottle and 5 gallon bottle. - fill the 5 gallon bottle entirely - pour the water out of 5 gallon bottle to 3 gallon bottle so in 5 gallon bottle the remaining amount of water is 2 gallons. -pour all the water from 3 gallon bottle out. -you have 2 gallons of water in 5 gallon bottle and empty 3 gallon bottle -pour 2 gallons out of 5 gallon bottle into 3 gallon bottle and then fill the 5 gallon bottle -now you have 3 gallon bottle, which contains 2 gallons and 5 gallon bottle which contains 5 gallons. -fill the 3 gallon bottle with 5 gallon bottle and you have 4 gallons of water in your 5 gallon bottle. - 4 gallons was the required amount.
