The first Game & Watch I had was Mario's cement factory. I found that in a nearby dumpster in its original box with a lot of other cool stuff. Then there were the russian clones. But the Mario one I have played a lot. Also my father enjoyed it, too. He was unbeatable in that game.
There were actually 3 tingle games exclusive to Japan, one was club Nintendo released and the other two are regular releases, which are sequels to each other
The first of the Tingle games (Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land) wasn't actually Japan-exclusive as it had a European release as well (Which is fully playable in English).
@@TheAstropath I somehow wasn't aware of the European release, I just have fan translated roms on emulator but I own all 3 Japanese copies of the games
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen in a while, just the amount of classic and unheard of retro stuff!!! Plus now I know I can get cheap GameBoys online! XD
That is still cool to see that system finally get talked about. I remember hearing about it on web forums talking about that, and being sad that we couldn't get one.
At one point in time they were used for training employees there are some super rare McDonald's carts that are hard to find and extremely expensive as well.
Fun video, thx for posting. Nice score on the mystery DSi, it was used for training purposes in Japan back in 2010. Looks like you got the training software and all!! Sweet.
Hey Elliot!! I know you like watches and I thought it was worth mentioning that the same company “Mani” that made that cassette player also made a gameboy wrist watch in 1992. That’s something I think you might enjoy!
I just watched the documentary about the Maccas DS and its matching game last night. I kind of want one some day, but the Pokémon one is cooler. Especially with Sinnoh coming back around this year.
For those who don't know, that McDonalds DSI is MAD rare. In Japan, McDonald's would train their employees using those DSI's along with a McDonald's DS game (which is even harder to come across). Super cool that you have one, keep it forever!
I remember when I was very young my grandparents bought me a brand new Palkia and Dialga DS lite, I loved that thing and I used it until I'll literally fell apart, wish I would've kept the box and the shell of it, I never thought it would be worth something one day
You were right about the Zelda game&watch stand. I currently live in japan and preordered one on amazon jp, i got the stand alongside the game&watch itself
Fun fact, the Cassette Boy _is_ official. I know it at least got a general European release with the official Nintendo seal on it. There was even a Cassette Boy Colour, too.
I bought one of them "retro sticks" which has a pair of very nice wireless controllers and the stick is just a HDMI stick that has a SD card stuffed with games, I am upgrading my RPi from a 3 to a 4 and thought to just use this as intermediate til I get me Pi 4 build sorted. Quite looking forward to its arrival as it alleges 4K on the blurb, suspect its just a cheapo android stick.
The tetris boxed for Japanese gameboy is rare? I have one, but i flattened the box (safely). A bunch of the things I bought in Japan I made the boxes flat to get them home in my luggage safely. That will probably affect the value I bet.
@@hicknopunk tbh, I got a small-box minuet for less than $10 on sendico. They're only reallyrare on a global scale, they're quite common in Japan. I've never seen a big box Tetris at all though.

I own a platinum GBA (original battery cover broke, have been using an arctic Gameware one since late 2003), a platinum Gamecube, a hyperscape Xbox One X (currently on loan to a neighbor) and a Zelda 3DS XL! (Currently needs its R button fixing)
I don't know if you've been following the trend behind the McDonald's DS but at least to my knowledge there was a few people trying to find the games for them as well because they're rare as well and last I knew of most of them were found I think except for one I don't know which one if you even have the cartridge for it you may have the missing piece of the puzzle that people have been looking for. I could be mistaken cuz I've only been watching it but I think it's the third cartridge out of three that no one was able to find yet I believe the other rooms have been uploaded already I'm not sure totally but something to look into either way I'm sure you'd be a fan of it regardless.

How does the screen get so bad on the gameboy lite? it looks like its melted. This is a genuine question btw, i realised afterwards it might just seem like another snarky internet comment
It's screen burn-in. Because the Gameboy Lite relies on external light sources as opposed to having it's own in-built screen backlight, people have a tendency to play the system under the brightest light of all: The Sun Eventually the UV rays of the sun start to damage the screen and it can lead to the screen looking like...
