Imagine if Nintendo to add a feature that when fighting off octolings, if you snipe them right where there shades are, you can knock off the shades and remove the octoling from Octavio’s control., similar to what Marie did in the final ending of Splatoon 2. Then you show the it the Calamari inktantation so that it fully is released from Octavio’s control. the octoling is thankful for you de-hypnotizing it, and could help you out in the other missions. And if you de-hypnotize enough octolings, you can make an army of them to beat DJ Octavio in the last battle. Honestly, I think this would be an amazing idea, and it’s harder than you think. Controlling a charger is usually hard, let alone snipe the octoling in the right spot. And I tell you as a charger main, this would be VERY, VERY hard to pull off unless you are some sort of snipe GOD.
The octolings have no reason of helping inklings just as it is,without the goggles. The inklings make the whole octarian society fall apart by taking the zapfish from each level,which basically means that their energy is taken each time agent 3 completes a level. If the great zapfish is taken away from them,the octarian society would be completely destroyed due to the lack of energy. Because of this,even if the octoling's shades would be shot off,it would still fight back and try to splat agent 3.
What about agent 8? She/he was an octoling but is still a member of the new Squidbeak Splatoon. You can easily show the de-hypnotized octolings the calamari inktantation to make them good. Sorry I forgot the part about the Calamari inktantaion, I should edit that in sooner or later.
Plus Octavio doesn’t care for the octotroopers and octolings. He sees them as henchmen rather than actual beings. The octolings would probably prefer helping a society that actually cares for them rather than an army controlled by a leader than doesn’t care for them.
