OMG, you guys are the best. Everyone thinks this is easy until you try this for one SINGLE day, and then realize this can can go to s1t in minutes after realizing this in my own situation.
Full Stop!!! Great con tent as usual. I always learn something watching your and your families videos. Congrats on you and Jeremy completing your challenge!
A bit of oil, a small container of salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices would be good to take along. It would improve the flavour of the foods. These adventures are awesome. Cheers! ✌🏻
Good day guys ....... I thank you for being up front with us that you guys did bring emergency food source just in case ......... At timestamp 13:40 I too get massive headaches if i do not have caffeine from my coffee
by watching this challange , i can easily say now that my grandma was right about body fat percentage . not too high , not too low. she always said that weight lost by dieting gonna come back soon , and its mindblowing how accurate she is . nice adventure man , loved this challange .
As a kid I lived in the Chenango Creek. Swimming, building dams, & catching buckets of Crayfish by hand. Crayfish aren't big enough to do any damage when pinching, just go ahead and grab them with your entire hand. They pinch sometimes, but grab catching is much more effective than trying to sneak up behind them & pinch catch them because your afraid of a tiny creatures pinchers. You're much tougher than they are!
Wouldn't matter how much I ate, I'd lose weight doing this challenge because it's quality food. With getting my food from the store, even the good things are poisoned with chemicals.
Totally enjoyed the Wilderness Challenge series. Just knowing the facts of weight loss/retention, I'm screwed...😂😅 Honestly, we have lost touch with our "wilderness side", even as a hunter-fisher. Love what ya'll have done😊
Fellas, do some research on what foods Lewis & Clark type expeditions took with them for long term wilderness survival. Dried meat, smoked Fish, hard tac bread & Corn Meal to suppliment the small & large game animals they took along their journey.
what's the song in the intro? thanks again for making your videos special My favorite is still this one, "Lost Hunter Solo Survival Challenge (NO Food, NO Water, NO Shelter) | Knife, Saw, 22 Long Rifle" It's just such a comfy and relaxing video that feels like someone that would play out centuries ago even. Also love the fire talks. Take care man. Hope to be able to do more what you do someday.
I don't think dying is an accurate way to describe this experience. You wouldn't starve to death no matter how long you stayed out there with that diet. Your caloric maintenance simply wasn't being reached, but that doesn't mean starvation, it means weight loss. You would've kept losing weight until reaching the point where the average amount of calories consumed daily would sustain you. But this isn't anything anybody doesn't know.
Good stuff fellas. How long has that bottle of tequila been stashed there now ? Lol i thought this was reused content for a quick second because id remembered a similar clip from an old survival challenge from years back . ! Waking up to this was awesome
Not taking anything away from Jeremy, but having extra weight definitely makes this easier. When you get under say 12% body fat, your body constantly screams at you for food, and carbs. It's insane.
Yall need to do a much longer version of this and see if your body acclimates to the calorie loss and you stop loosing weight at a certain point. Like plan for a 30 day but don't hurt yourselves also.
It would be interesting for sure. It's a tough diet for a modern man. People who live off wild foods were super small and light. I don't know for sure if we could go back.
Any ideas on how to get the fat you were missing? I can think that maybe going bullhead fishing more to get more fats (They are at least fattier than pike)? Hunt//trap for some small game?
I'll post the next seasons as I cut them down. It really does answer this question. Each season just gets more refined, and we get better at finding the things we need for long term.
Loved the wilderness survival challenges!! Got me through some tough days and I really appreciate all of your hard work brother! Rock on my brother! 👍🏼💪🏼 from northern Kentucky USA!
I think you would do better if you tried eating the swim bladder (it´s full of vitamins and actually tastes awesome) liver and heart of the fish. These organs contain a lot more vitamins and other essentials which would help a lot. And I don´t think it would be cheating to take some seasonings like salt and pepper.
You can avoid hunger pangs by intermittent fasting and a keto diet leading up to the challenge, that would get rid of the water weight ahead of time. Reintroducing sugars and starches during the challenge would likely be stored because of the intelligence our bodies have to do such a thing. So next time try fasting before the challenge, and you might find a vastly different outcome.
You would also be in a state known as autophagy that is a level of ketosis in which your body produces more HGH which spares muscle proteins and recycles old junk in your system to create proteins from waste. Also more stress hormones entering the challenge, which are also a way of your body creating blood sugars.
y bones are super easy to remove fellas. you gotta filet the northern just like a walleye then run your knife down the center of the northern filet heraded upwards feeling the y bones as you go along and once you get so far you can just pull them out and your left with a perfect northern fillet
And fiber too. That's the issue, you need to eat a lot of fiber to process out the starches in it. I've never managed to make cattails worth eating. They taste alright as new growth...but it would be a lot of work to make a living from them.
Alot of that body weight loss is just because of lack of carbs and salt, it's just water weight your losing. Your body is used to eating well salted carb filled meals and holds alot more water.
Dude, there is really no need to eat those snails, it is a food that means nothing terrible in terms of calorie value and taste, a ball of bacteria and viruses. Considering that he fished so much in two hours
dont get me wrong .. I loved Nicole in Alone, but your math saying that she was losing weight the slowest doesnt really factor in that many other contestants purpusfully gained a lot of weight right before the competition .. she didnt.
@@TheWoodedBeardsman I agree .. talking only about ALONE here .. if you did weight going in minus weight at the end divided by days spent it is not accurate .. I mean look at my most favourite .. Clay of season 8 .. he got a massive belly going in .. now if you did Clays normal weight minus his weight at the end devided by days spent, than he might have been better off than Nicole.
@@drizzi2320 Yes, Clay's season probably came after this series was filmed. So I wasn't really talking about a full data deck at the time. I think some have done better than she has since...some much better. I will say, that no matter what, calories from wild foods makes you do everything slower, like animal do. Our fast pace life is because we have lots of high quality calories.
Hey guys, I'm not sure if I caught ya'll talking about this since it's taboo for many people but, I'm wondering about the method you're using to measure your "survival" success which brings me to my question. Do you consider the existing fecal matter in your gut during your first weigh in compared to your last? I'm not expecting an answer, just wondering. Thanks for reading it and making the video. It was interesting.

You both of guys bring videos like snow fall and survival videos in Alaska, your video was in snow fall that was very interesting video
What was season 2 of this series, and why does TH-cam have it hidden?

Still currently watching the vid . So far really good . I'm learning a lot on how to spit stuff out, lmao. . Have a good one . Trevor from Manitoba
Them bones. The acridity. Nothing is as we have made it today. Palatable is more than edible.
I respect you for doing that keep it real thanks
Can't you boil the berrys to make some sort of jiuce and strain the seeds?
Yes.
Am i realizing this as a repost of an old video? just keeps getting more familiar the further i watch
Yes, Just edited into one long video.
It's cut back from like 6 hours to 1:50. Most people hardly watched the first series.

Thanks for the informative breakdown! Very interesting experiment.

Good stuff fellas. Recommend less modern comforts such as the tent and variety of modern tool usage for S2!
Would be cool if you linked the original playlist that you cut down as well in either the description or a comment
I can do that!
Jeremey built different lol man didn't complain once in the 7 days you were there

You guys were missing cakes. Remember cakes or bread is an important part of survival! 😅
Friends like you two are rare and far apart! Keep up the good work.
Full stop Loop!
Next camp put out lines tied to stout tree limbs and let the fish come to you if it's legal brother
Unfortunately it's not. All lines need to be attended.
@TheWoodedBeardsman thank you brother
I remember watching this years ago!!!!
at timestamp 1:16:15 not only are you wasting time you also need to leave some to reseed the ground for next year ......

I did. I came in at around 7% bodyfat, and in keto. Didn't help.
If you keep catching pike, change tactics. Surely there are better fish in there?
It's a warm water lake, so only possibly bass, or perch.
You definitely had a good partner to do this challenge with
y bones are super easy to remove fellas. you gotta filet the northern just like a walleye then run your knife down the center of the northern filet heraded upwards feeling the y bones as you go along and once you get so far you can just pull them out and your left with a perfect northern fillet
Badass intro
Seasoned with nothing but pure hunger.
Those snails are delicious
This wasn't even that long ago and how so much has changed
Learned a lot!
The cat tale roots have a vary high carbohydrate count.
And fiber too. That's the issue, you need to eat a lot of fiber to process out the starches in it. I've never managed to make cattails worth eating. They taste alright as new growth...but it would be a lot of work to make a living from them.
Call it 7vsWild
Suspended your crayfish bait in the middle of your traps so they don't touch the sides. They are sitting on the outside of the trap eating.
30 days would be a really good living challenge
Fish without salt is so boring to eat. A little salt and it's delicious. I can understand the struggle! And I can't stand snails!
Awesome video
Whenever I see or hear something about it would be easy to survive in the wild. I think of the 2 of you. Starting to starve.
Alot of that body weight loss is just because of lack of carbs and salt, it's just water weight your losing. Your body is used to eating well salted carb filled meals and holds alot more water.

I feel guilty watching this at 2am eating a bunch of processed delicious bullshit. 😂
You should do a video with kg
روعه الطبيعي
400th Like for the show
You better cook them or you will be in for a ride!!!!!!
Next time try a true survival challenge, nothing but a knife and a fire starter nothing else except what you find to survive for 7 days.
This is a true Wilderness Living Challenge.
@TheWoodedBeardsman you had camping gear , you camped out .
@@jimmykorona5205 Wilderness living does not require a lack of gear.

Good video but change to low carb diet, it's normal to lost weight.
Not at 7% body fat. And it's not just low carb. It's low carb, low fat. Which is what "survival" entails. It's not sustainable.
Also, it's impossible you even watched more than 10 minutes of the video before commenting...because they video hasn't even been out that long.

The only way to do this is with fatty meat, in this environment you need fur bearing meat. There is no other way.

1-2 lbs fluctuation. I mean, water too. But I hardly fluctuate in weight in my normal day.
Why don’t they eat the pike skin?
Too much fat from fish leads to heavy metal toxicity.
Really
in the past they didn t have the rules
