39:14 is the sound I was chasing after, was so close to grabbing a Juno 6 to pair with my new Digitakt 2, but now I’m convinced the Digitone 2 pairing will give me everything I need ✨✨✨ Thanks!
Such excellent HONEST content !!!!!!! I am in Love with This machine, have one ordered... The Digitone was my first Elektron box after having played on Roland Juno's and Korgs for Years. EZBOT has brought me full fold into the entire Elektron suite with the Octatrack Templates.... Digitone has always been my Fav... SOOOO excited to get DN2 !!!! Thanks EZBOT !!!!
Holy shit dude, I watched the beginning of this one when you first posted it but that back half is no joke, you sound insane with it already. It’s kind of making me realize that even just 16 track Digitone with no other additions would be absolutely nutty, all the other new bits are just gravy
Great Video, thanks for the organic deep dive; fits my methodology. I sure hope they bring the new sequencer and polyphony to the DT2. Now that it has 16 voices, I feel that it should be able to do polyphony. Also, I'm having the same thoughts about the Syntakt. It feels a bit left out, but it always was a different beast. Finally, I don't want to speculate too much as it's a bit pointless, but I feel that the Tonverk will be a 16 track, 24 voice DT2+DN2 in a single box. That would make a whole lot of sense.
Love this. Super excited about mine too. The DT and DN were my original hardware boxes, now I’ve gone through a ton of instruments, synths, groove boxes, drum machines, samplers and modular gear, and now back the these version 2 and I feel like I know the workflow so well plus they fixed everything that was lacking for me, such as longer sequence lengths. I’m so happy they added the virtual analog to DNII, I was literally saying that if they released a polyphonic analog-style synth I would have my complete setup. Yes, I’d love analog too, but to my ears it doesn’t sound like FM, but very satisfying. My ST will probably leave the studio.
digitak 2 digitone 2 and octatrack mk2 what a fucking diabolical trio for live performing ... just the bit on 1:52:29 onward made my mouth water and even made me ponder the posibility of actually buying the digitone 2 having an hydrasinth just for perfoming the trio
45:39 I find the perform kit mode not really usable with the function yes/no feature as the kit of the next pattern is replaced by the one of previous one which had the saved state. Otherwise 1:25:42 this is fire
I just added the DT2 to the Syntakt and now I'm torn -- tempted to grab a DN2 now and then decide how it and the Syntakt fit into my setup. Loving the new Analog machines on the Syntakt, but there's so many digital tracks and it could do with more digital machines. I'm liking the sound design possibilities of the DN2 though!
Excellent stuff man. I will say though, the patch you dialed in at 41:00 or so, does not sound overly digital/Digitone to me tbh. If you told me that came out of a fully analog synth I’d believe you
Well, this is one of those times I'm glad I had that GAS and grabbed a Digitone 2 from detroit modular while I had the chance. I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow so I can have all the sweet swwwet sounds for myself.
I say no syntakt, and use a poly or mono analog synth for those analog sounds. Because while the syntakt's analog engines are thick and rich, they are not anywhere near a full sized analog synth.
wow:@1:43 i would love to see something like this on the Push stand-alone. You just need to get that musical conversation going. Love and hate, War and peace. BTW, @1:58 what is that tiny gizmo looking like a tracker, mid-righthand side? Is it midi or audio?
The polyphonic sequencer of Dn2 is awesome. That's the gas I'm feeling as a syntakt octatrack A4 power user. I wish they would incorporate the A4 keybed/sequencer interaction best way to program notes. I guess with scale locking on the 2's though it's not bad at all.
Totally agreed about the wavetables, definitely need some interesting rich ones, but looks like it should be easy to extend with those... i hope? Otherwise loving DN2 so far, very solid.
I hope they update the digitone 1 to have page loop for us non-ultra consumer folk who just want to keep using the digitone 1 and syntakt (1.3) together
It's a sound tinkerers dream. I'll stick to the OG because I love it a lot and it's never used solo but damn it's a tempting package. Now to pray for a pageloop update. And also wouldn't say no to the chord programming.
Can someone please explain to me why I would want to buy Syntakt over Digitone II? I understand that there are going to be differences in the sequencing capabilities, with Digitone II being the newest iteration. I am talking more about the sound possibilities of the two.
NGL, I'm terrified they're gonna release a Syntakt 2 soon because they're doing 8 pages in the sequencer. I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't add that when they released it. Surely they knew they were going to do this with the DT and DN 2's.
54:54 "what is the swarmer doing here?" BLASPHEMER!! 😂 For real: I am a real sucker for anything supersaw, so the swarmer machine is a blessing from my perspective. And it makes this sound with just 1 voice 😮
The more I look into the Elektron boxes, the more convinced I am that they SHOULD all be incorporated into one more powerful box. I detest the idea of having to buy a whole other unit just to have a different type of sound generation. Analog, FM, Wavetable, Sample, Midi - it should be just a matter of selecting the track type for a given track. Breaking it up into different units for each just feels like a marketing scam.

Well it took 20 years but a company finally released a 16 part multitimbral synth. Take my fucking money.

Great video as always, that pad sound design solved all my questions, all my wish list was added in Mk2. Cheers!

excellent video man, loved the section on FM Drum

a surprise masterclass in how to have fun! cheers!
Best Digitone 2 demo.

Come ON Syntakt 2 ! I’m waiting !
Sold my Digitone as soon as i saw the video and ordered the 2. Digitone 2 makes some insane sounds, like wild crazy sounds.
the DN2 has reminded of the Waldorf Iridium

Can’t wait to hear what user friendly sounds does with this thing

That’s a tracker! M8

Some amazing sounds in there. Thanks. got me even more excited for mine to arrive.
Does note edit work on midi tracks?
So chat can we flatten the arp notes by changing the track to a midi machine or not?? I’m guessing not :(

I think the answer is analog synths or digital
@@EZBOT_ Which machine is overall more capable in your opinion?

Tutorial for banger m8 tracker sounds plz?
Oh dear. I made it to 28:00 and pushed the buy button. PayPal pay in 3 makes it too easy 😄
@ 41:10 you made twin peaks lol
Could you make a more in-depth tutorial on how you made that pluck sound? Im obsessed

@EZBOT_ the comb filter synthesis bit

I'm sure it's very fun if you've never had a Digitone. I would personally only purchase if they made a Keys version.
I think the only way for Syntakt II to survive DNII AND DTII is heading to be fully analog or the analog sister of the fam.
48:00 digitone ii got him in an existential crisis.
1:06:47 got him in another existential crisis.
Any bugs??
Haven't encountered 1 yet.

You're tripping. DT1 is still as a. Amazing instrument as it was day 1. Every time I sit down with it, wonders happen. (:
