    This step by step video tutorial covers sublimating your photos or graphic designs onto mugs
    Sublimating mugs require a printer with sublimation ink,a sublimatable mug,transfer paper a mug press and your design.
    Personalized photo mugs make great gifts for any occasion.

    great video. Would be good to do a video on how to press mugs without a mug press example lots of people have a circuit machine etc. Great video.

      I have used a mug wrap similar to this one amzn.to/2QsrCOU and it works great no mug press needed.There are videos out there just do a search for sublimation mug wrap.Good luck.

      I left a bit of white at the top and bottom but experiment with your press you may be able to go right up to the rim with your print.

      Mines are microwave safe but be sure you check your manufacturer,although it should say if they are microwave safe or not.

      There are several sublimation forums on Facebook where you can post pics of your problem and find solutions,its difficult to say what could be your problem without all the facts.

      You can use something like this amzn.to/35vEQDt it's a mug wrap you don't need a press but you do need an oven.I have tried this and it works great.

    Is it possible to use regular jet ink, which colour's are you using do you have a link to purchase the print colour.

      No I am afraid it won't work with regular ink. Here is a link for sublimation inks if you have an epson printer but check to make sure you have one of the models listed.amzn.to/3k8HvGV

    Do you know of similar software to the sawgrass creative software that I can use with my EPSON 4700 printer? I assume the sawgrass software requires the user own their printer.

      Yes I did use photoshop,but since then I have also been using Inkscape which is free,check my Inkscape tutorials so you can get an idea of its capabilites.

    How did you keep the transfer tape from leaving marks on the mug?

      If you use heat tape it does not leave marks.

      Absolutely that's how sublimated t-shirts are done using polyester t-shirts which are light in color.

    Thank you for the information, however I'm having real problems trying to print onto mugs using my photo's. They are coming out dark brown and no vivid colours. I'm using and Epson sub printer and CO-Z 8 in 1 press. I've tried using various heat settings around your recommended settings but it always turns out the same way. I've used about 12 mugs and still can't get it right. All items are good quality sublimation supplies. Have you any ideas?

      What ink are you using did you check to see if they have an icc profile for it? Is the paper looking scorched? If so the temperature might be too high. Each press is different you can try lowering the temperature or the amount of time in the press.

      @@over60crafter Hi, Thank you for the reply, I was using the ICC supplied with the printer (Epson E2714) But no matter what I did they all turned out the same. I was using Photoshop CS. So I tried Affinity Photo and everything is now working fine. Really don't know why PS would not print OK as I've always used it to print my photo's.

      @@davidharle952 Next time give this a try change the setting in Photoshop check my "How to sublimate on wood" video at 3:23 I changed the color handling to Photoshop manages colours and then chose the icc profile.

    Thank you ,,, I make a mistake , bought 5.1 heat press . While printing mug first time on it , I turn on the mug press without inserting the mug . Thought I should heat it first like shirt heat press . My mug heat press gave a smoke and now it is not heating up . What can I do now ?

      You did it correctly you have to heat it up before inserting the mug,seems like you got a bad one. I would suggest returning it if it is not working.

    Hello. I was told to put am extra page around the mug, between the sub print, and the mug press. I see you didn't do this. Does the ink not transfer also to the mug press?

      Thanks for pointing that out,I do use a sheet of paper between the mug and the press it makes it easier to hold and take it out as well prevent the ink from transferring to the press,I had to go back and look at the video,I guess I forgot to film it.

      Just highlight all the layers in one of the opened files and click and drag it into the file where you want to place it.

      Yes you can,any sublimation printer works for sublimatable items just make sure the sublimation paper can be used on the specific item.

    Hello you mentioned about not to use the ink that came with the epson printer, so is there a special ink for sublimation? May i also ask about the model of your epson printer?

      If it is a sublimation printer then you are fine,if it is a normal epson printer then you can check to see if they sell refillable cartridges for the model you own,and if they do then you will also need to purchase sublimation ink.I believe I have links in the description.What printer do you have?

      @@astroboy0420 Just came across this article :Can I Use my HP Printer for Sublimation?
      If you have a HP home or office printer you will not be able to convert it for sublimation. That’s because most HP printers disperse ink onto paper using the thermal heat process.
      This makes nearly all HP printers incapable of printing a clear image using sublimation ink because the ink would essentially bake onto the paper or gas out of the cartridges during the printing process.

      Could be several reasons,ink could be old,not enough pressure.Have you tried it on polyester to see if the black ink is printing correctly.
