I have Aloooot of them in my back yard. Black with the pretty greenish blue metallic pincher things
Those things are called chelicerae!
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm in Washington too and I've been trying to find videos on how to find them out in the wild. After watching so much of tarantula kat, dark den, and so many others, I've been getting over my fear of spiders slowly but surely.
I’m near Portland. If you have big trees, or go camping… just put a table down and they’ll jump on the table just to see what YOU are doing there lol
Same here; right down to what state we live in.
I live in Nigeria and I mostly see a gray wall jumper
Me too!!
I love your videos of Jumping Spiders. I have liked them for so long and I had no idea that people kept them as pets, until recently. In my area we have the phidippus johnsoni. The Phidippus apacheanus, audux, clarus. Phidippus ardens, and Phidippus phoenix, to name a few. I'm in Tucson, AZ.
I'm in Alabama, and I'm going to go hunting tomorrow! I think they're starting to come out again after "winter."
Hea dooolls got me laughing so hard bro😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i found some pretty hairy multi eyed spooders on the walk signs in town and they where jumping and bopping around, but looked much bigger than your species. I'm in CT I took some pics and oh so badly wanted to take them but I wouldn't be able to keep them comfy and fed like Mandys Motel you got over there. 🤣 it's adorable how you let them eat and rest then put them back outside like a little R&R I would take while traveling cross country at a bed and breakfast! stay sweet and thanks babe✌💜🙂🙏🕷
Now that I'm looking for wild jumping spiders I don't see any LOL.
Great video showing how to find the babies!
I wish we had these cuties here!!! 😢
I just found your channel and love how upbeat and kind you are! I've definitely subscribed and now watching all your videos 🥰
Unless you live near the poles (which maybe you do?) they’re likely around somewhere-although maybe only active in warmer months, depending on where you are! I live in San Diego, so clearly, with our 350 days of sun a year or whatever it is, yes; we have a few types. But we also have far more potentially dangerous and/or scary spiders here outside! And inside too sometimes! The bugs that scare ppl are usually just gross or harmless, like silverfish! Well, now I value those weird creatures bc I can feed them to the jumping spider! Supposedly they never stol growing, imagine a silverfish the size of like, a cat. Eeeeeeekkk. Nature… but I just recently saw one or two jumping spiders outside when it was like, 45° F, not super warm tbh for us! But I could see them scurrying around on the outdoor furniture on the exterior of the house, and other buildings. They almost always stop and turn to see who’s there! Then they wave their “arms” and jump, maybe only six inches but they disappear in a flash! You’re like what the….?! But then you find it, literally not even that far away. Lol. They’re so intense with the jumping even if it’s from one leaf to another! It’s like a disappearing act, temporary magic. Haha, but I bet you have some outside in summer.
You are gorgeous!!
But since they already "LIVE" in your backyard they can be consider as a pet😅,you don't need to catch them 😄.
Hey! Can someone plz tell me if it’s ok to keep it long-term? My mom had introduced me to jumping spiders and I really want one, but my mom says I need to try to catch one first before I get one. Plz help me!!!
Yes you can keep them long term so long as they are eating and nesting just mist the enclosure wall lightly every three days or so and offer food when the abdomen gets smaller generally every three days or so as well
How do u tell the genders? :)
Hello there sweet Manda, you have great taste in jumping spiders as pets I wish you the best of luck. Xoxo 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 princess
I am getting a jumping spider, how could I find fruit flies and other insects to get that are small for 1-2i I really try to learn so nothing happens to my new pet !
Your local pet store should carry fruit fly cultures. If not, you can order some from joshsfrogs.com ☺️
I’m not very good at handling jumping spider like my new *singapore* jumping spider. It scared me 2 times. = jump to my hand with glove and jump to the floor.
Hi just wondering if you’ll be posting any other content? ❤
have you gotten any new tattoos
You shouldnt take random spiders from the wild, it will increase their odds of going extinct in the wild. Its already happened with other species.
I think it is fun to design little habitats and temporarily care for them, but I don’t think I’d go poking their hammocks. That’s like their safe place, lol. Even if it’s gentle prodding, like you said, the spider could be entering into a reproductive period or something. I’d sooner catch the ones I see crawling actively.
I don't think zebra jumping spiders are native to the US. Non native species are really easy to find. I've caught 3 Asian wall jumping spiders in vt.
i caught a jumping spider in my house yesterday (its called the ''house jumping spider), i have it for 1/2 days now and it hasnt webbed yet or accepted food, so ty for the tips
What enclosure my wilder caught preferred a small one with natural woods etc I got from the dollar tree I created hides with natural materials
Found one today while working on my car 😅 i caught it and got an enclosure for it
Found one about a week ago and i didnt keep it and now i regret it
you’re so smart and beautiful ☺️
i’ve only found 1 in the wild.. good thing i caught it !
Lol. Humans we are the finest.

Lucky you… I found one jumping around 2 minutes ago and I was about to catch it but it jumped away and now I’m crying on the floor😢

Get a big jumping spider
I love jumping spiders
I found one and idk what to but know or what they need
We both got the same thing in common
So your best to find one
Washingtonian here!!! Can’t wait for the rain but I look forward to finding one before its gets cold here
send me one please
Hey, do you have a suggestion for lights? I’ve been searching, asking people. No one has a good answer.
I’m looking for full spectrum (mimics the sun), non-fluorescent, non-heating lights for my jumping spiders.
These are the ones I use! They are dimmable and have a 3, 6, & 12hr timer ☺️ amzn.to/3XDX26i
@@Manda31409 thank you!!
So I found a Phidippus ardens. It could be Johnsoni in not 100 present sure. Either way I found it with your video in mind. Before that all I was able to find were the Menemerus bivittatus in my neighborhood. They don’t make very good pets. Not friendly
Mine come inside my house, and sit in my kitchen window, lol. I’ve had approximately a dozen all together 👍👍🫶🏼🙏🏼🦋🇨🇦🫶🏼🥰🌸
I see them here in SoCal all over walls, gates, and buildings. Pretty easy to find too! And they will eat the flightless fruit flies and pinhead crickets that the herps eat 😊
Amazing...want more such videos...❤🎉👌😇
hi: it is the dead of winter here in the harsh cold of southern california. I am sitting in my room shivering. Do you think it is too cold to go find spider? thx.
I see them all the time when I'm working! And I want to catch one so bad but I'm scared to get bit LOL. I've seen some super gorgeous colored ones!! Neon colored and all!
❤❤❤
They will just hop on your hand 90% of the time. They love to play with people
I can't find one to keep just yet but I wanna find some just to see them in person 😭
That jumpscare at the 1 minute mark 😂
Yes…I have 2 zebras now 💞💜
Do daddy long legs bite?
I have caught several
Super cute is right.
Do you still collect ponies?
I just caught one but how do you know if it’s a female? I’m in fl , it’s black and white
Send me a pic on Instagram @Manda31409
I may be able to identify for you!
Love it.
We’re being overrun with wild caught jumpers here 😂
Every one my daughters see is promptly named, fed, misted and kept to see how they adjust. For the most part we let them go after a couple of weeks, but have had wonderful luck with our bolds more than any other local species.
Those spiders wanna crawl on her when she's sleep 😈
Are jumping spiders poisonous/venomous?
They are not and won’t hurt you. A lovely spider.
LOVE U GIRL CAN WE BE friends
I LOVE U
Damn... You're lucky they don't make great big cups and paint brushes because i'm pretty sure someone would want to make you into a pet. You don't bite do you?
Do you still live with your mom?
On my moma it not going to eat
