I was at the Minnesota Zoo concert in 1999 and it was the most incredible bizarre awesome show I’ve seen. It was like 100 degrees, humid.. there were giraffes and Peacocks behind the audience. Gene was confused if he was actually in Minnesota. Some dude crawled up the stage canopy and got kicked out of the show.. until Dean yelled at the cops and said he was their friend… they brought the guy to the stage and he spent the rest of the show sitting on a speaker drinking whiskey with everyone else on stage. And they played voodoo lady for 30 minutes straight. And that kinda sucked but I’ll never forget it. Saw them again a few years in Moorhead at another great outdoor venue. Absolutely amazing show.
one guy climbed up i didnt remember what happened to him. another guy came up and put his arm around gene singing dont get to close to my fantasy and security hauled him away. crowd was yelling bring him back until the band joined in, and he was brought back and well behaved after that.
I started on the Ween journey with this somewhat normal album. I'm not sure i would have understood Pure Guava back in 92. In retrospect, Pure Guava is my favorite, kudos to Elektra, for signing the band during that time
Pure Guava was my introduction to WEEN, and I loved it. Granted, I was exceptionally high at the time, but that doesnt change the fact Pure Guava is indeed fantastic (as is the rest of their catalog) lol
Every ween record has a theme. Every record has a influence from what ever band they are into at that time. One of the greatest bands ever. God save the ween!
@@PatrickRob82Quebec sounds like Pink Floyd a little, most specifically talking about Captain and later tracks. Early album sounds midi-ish with tracks like Zoloft and Happy Colored Marbles.
Same here. I'm 53, I grew up in the 80s, but don't really like that music. The 80s music I do like, nobody knows lol. 70s and 90s is more my stuff. Ween is the band I'd been searching for forever. They have my sick sense of humor, they can sing soul, play metal, play country, they can be normal, they can even get deep (she wanted to leave or the argus). What started out as 2 kids fkin around with a 2track, turned into unbelievable talent
