Anytime is a former OSL champion (OSL '05 season 1), taking out 3 of the top 4 Terran players in the world in the process - Xellos, oov and even peak Boxer in a best of 5 final (only Nada missing from that group). Peak Anytime was the best Protoss in the world, albeit for a relatively brief period of time. He gained notoriety for his unorthodox strats and high-risk, hold-on-to-your-seats, all-in rushes. His "Death God" moniker originated from an OSL match where he pulled off a fast DT rush to finish the match in minutes, just wave after wave of solitary DTs - the first time that strategy had been employed in competitive SC broadcast history. DT rushes are obviously no big deal now, but it was insanely innovative at the time (not to mention ballsy as hell). Anytime continued to employ DTs on a regular basis in competition thereafter, so his "Death God" (as in, bad-ass assassin) moniker stuck. You can see evidence of his preference for DTs in this replay against Jaedong as well. Ah, the memories. Thanks again for the replay casting. Well done.
@DeSTRoYeR992 I covered the pro SC scene in Korea almost from its inception. Was writing battle reports on Broodwar.com from '99, then helped start TL.net with Victor, WaxAngel and others. I lived and breathed the pro SC scene for over a decade, so you could say I've seen it all... ;)
I was 3 years old in 1999. I know very little about old school broodwar, but I was raised playing it. I find it interesting how competitive gaming was spawned from such games. Especially when comparing it to the multi million, if not, multi billion dollar industry it is today.
Bruh I love you so much. Thank you for still covering StarCraft stuffs!! I love you as a commentator too!!!! Super sad HuskyStarCraft deleted his channel. But hey who needs that when we have you?? Keep it up!!
My wife: "Uhhmm why are you not watching the *current sport that is on tv at the moment*? Me: I'm watching a replay with commentary from my favorite game. Problem?
Wait what? Never heard of Anytime the Death Godtoss? He took 05's OSL from the Terran Emperor. He was one of the Three Neo Kings along with Stork and Pusan. Yeah he was in HwaseungOz and Plus with JD, so maybe this was a practice match. Anyways great match Falc, thanks for giving Anytime some spotlight.
Friggin Korean cold war-ish situation dragging the pros away to do mandatory military service when they ought to be playing Starcraft! I'm happy to see our metal caterpillar friends come out to play though, good game!
Well jaedong played that game like he never heard of a spore colony. Seriously 1 or 2 wouldve won him that game. Observers are squishy to them making lurker defense that much more effective, and it helps the shuttle from hanging out while reavers are dropped. If they do commit to the reaver drop then the reavers have to focus down the spore colony or they die no matter what. If the reavers focus down the spore colony then zerglings get more time to surround or sunken colonys get more time to... Idk what that is that they do (underground spike tentacle?). But Either way reavers die and base is saved.
I love SC:BW it's not just commentary about who have lost how many resources like SC2, much more entertaining than just number crunching. And Guardians yeah not good in current meta but still they can win ASL matches and have done so and is so much more entertaining that boring as hell broodlords.
Wow.. What an awesome game! Thanks FP! Is this the same anytime[gm]? I thought he was japanese or Chinese something asian but not korean.. that not correct? Anyways, Great Cast! Would like to see some fantasy, leta, snow, Hiya or even Scan.. There were some good semi pros like semih, canadiankid .. I'll see if I can shoot you some replays
JD just over focused on his drop so he actually lost the game in right about 10 minutes. Anytime played well to keep his lead but this is not a EPIC game. Besides, Anytime called "Death Godtoss" in Korea and China is all about his dark templar using against some greatest players, but the meaning of "Death Godtoss" ("sasin toss" in korean) is more like "the top players slayer".
Jaedong put up a consistent fight, but I definitely wouldn't call this epic. There was no time that I felt like AnyTime didn't have tactical control of this match.
Hi Falcon. First of all you doing really good job. I love your Starcraft BW videos. However in this gameplay its pretty obvious JD dont play 100% and it seems to be kind of crazy gaming. Anytime got a proffesional lesson how zerg can get you on many ways. Have a nice day all 👈
your channel is pretty amazing, you cast daily.. So much stuff on this channel.. I appreciate your work,.. I don't know.. isn't it weird that a guy who is considered one of the best in the game can get destroyed that badly.. I really feel like you have to outplay protoss so amazingly to win.. Everything they have destroys zerg.. like how do you fights? dark swarm is pretty useless against protoss other than attacking into cannons. I am not an expert but i usually see zerg players lose to protoss players unless they are MUCH better.. Jadong must be an amazing player to beat protoss
No, it's the other way around, at least at the pro level. Protoss is badly underpowered compared to Zerg. Maps have to be specifically balanced in order for P to have a chance.
@@mensrea1251 Really? How come I don't see that pattern.. I seen the very best win by out playing protoss, but I see a lot of people losing.. Look at this game, this guy is considered the very best zerg in the world and he lost to a basic bitch.. unless i heard the stats wrong in the beginning. Even when the super top zerg players win, they still lose 90 percent of the engagements. They just usually outplay and expand like crazy and hope protoss bleeds out of resources.. Reevers kill everything. Storms kill everything.. Archons and zealots destroy dark swarm. I think AI will prove my theory when they set two computer systems to equal skill levels and you will see protoss completely dominate .. at least that is my guess. I think ai will finally unveil what I have suspected for awhile... That the game was never balanced but savant players made up for it by being THAT much better. But of course i could be completely wrong.
Yeah I know but Idrk what I am doing wrong, I have read forums and articles on how to deal with Zerg so idk why I still struggle with them. I mean... I guess it's obvious that I am not doing it right but I still don't know what's going wrong tbh
@@u924hhwe i recommend specifically searching for zvp games, around your tier of play, or even professional matches, and you might pick up a few tricks. Watch the timings, scouting routes, build orders.. Etc.

12:58 dropped 10 supply= (1)shuddle & (2) reavers. Ouch
Nice catch. That sucked for Anytime.
shuttle
ZvP is the most interesting matchup
You can feel the oldness (?) in this replay, still good to watch :)
Needs an epic tag, was awesome that anytime managed to deal with the defilers and lurker drops and still won
Jaedong falls like a warrior!
15 minerals for a scarab
Agreed
Ain't that from halo wars ? Scarab
was about to post this
Not only he is missing stuff on the map, he doesnt even know how much for a scarab.
I can live with that

Great stuff as usual! Keep up the good work, master Falcon!
"I got 250 actions per minute but trying to save my guardians ain't one of 'em"
Wow, Jaedong is defeat by a protoss player which is not Bisu? Impressive
this totally needs an EPIC tag!!!
@08:02 I'm calling it for JaeDong. He has Anytime surrounded for vision and he is ramping up. I will watch the rest of the video and see if I'm right.
Best and most hilarious game, i have seen so far!
Jaedong is my favorite.
Well played protoss
Anytime made scouts never seen that before

holy squishy guardian FalPal!
So SQUISHY!

Probably wasn't too rusty. Anytime was in the military starcraft proteam
yay, new video. I'll play like once with the race that wins after the game :-)
Hey yo, Falcon! I've been waiting so long for those 'Teach us how to Brood War'. Some buddies and I really wanna get into it. TEACH US!
Watch day9's lets learn starcraft series, he's your best way to learn brood war.
2012 game? I didnt realize it was that long ago lol, maybe i have seen it then haha
that was epic...
I love you
Gooood game.
очень интересная была игра
My poor Zerg,😭😭
Protoss looked bleak at the beginning.
2:00 did you consider he *lost so many Zerg matches, because he faced Jaedong??*
Epic
Fail tag pls! The first hydra drop had to be on the Nexus!

Is it just me or sound effects for bw is better than sc2. Also you can see the spines attack of hydras as opposed to sc2. Lol

With the outcome like this, it might deserve an epic tag.
tap out at anytime, lol. Jaedong killed that last Zealot out of symbolism, lol. Zerg STILL might have won, perhaps he is leaving the game with, lol.

What gamespeed do they play at in competitive league?
Fastest.

Don't you get 2 lings per egg? in SCII you can get 3 in the campaign so..............
Yep. 2 per egg.

This game is double EPIC because zerg lost...
Sure about that, triple epic cuz Protoss did it
I always wonder how some Protoss deal with PvZ well... I mean like... 75% of my losses are to a Zerg.
protoss has higher win % against zerg. if anything, you should be winning more than losing; youre doing something wrong. try using high templars more?
