"Mythology is the fabric of life ...Myths are the 'masks of God through which men everywhere have sought to relate themselves to the wonders of existence." Joseph Campbell. Thank you John for this review...there is so power and humanity in these old tales...that's why the live so long in our minds and hearts.

I have one of these in my book collection, along with many more paranormal books.
Hence, why I like John's books, the touch of the supernatural.

Oooh did you see the whole issue of the Fortean Times which concentrated on this book?

Ah yes - we had the Dutch version of Reader's Digest at home, in the 1960s. I can't remember ever having read a 'Folklore, Myths and Legends' article. Perhaps they thought the Dutch are too sensible for that kind of thing. Pity. I'll look for it online, in English. Too much gets lost in translation, which is why I will never read Charlie Parker in a (Dutch) translation.

It's quite disconcerting when a subject speaks to a camera but the video editor chooses to use a view from a completely different camera, it's a trend that's creeping in more and more. I think John should take that weighty tome he's holding and slap the video editor around the head with it until a promise to stop doing it is extracted.

I agree wholeheartedly and said so after the first video.
