Congratulations! I climbed it in 1986 in subzero temps, got frostbite and pulmonary edema, but didn't lose my toes. The hut looks a lot better now than it did back then :) Be safe.

Gorgeous view. I worked in Xalapa for a while and on clear mornings you could see orizaba in the distance. Always wanted to get close.

Great climb!! You must have had a lot of confidence in your ability to cope with the altitude to try to do the climb with no acclimatization.

This was the end of November, 2016! Have since been back to climb it again in January, 2022 with very similar conditions.

samuel is it possible for me to drive to the hut? that way i can have vehicle there to leave after the summit??
