We finally bought our new Predator 4400psi 4.2 gpm pressure washer from Harbor Freight in efforts to grow our pressure washing business and take it to the next level! Although some in the pressure washing business consider a 4gpm pressure washer to be a beginner machine, it is definitely a huge step up from our 2.5 gpm machines and it is definitively adequate for the jobs that we do. More videos coming out so stay tuned and subscribe!
Here is the 1 year Review video!

I plumbed an external bypass unloader valve and it works great.
Nice not to worry about overheating the pump.
What is that and how do you do that. I am going to buy one and start a pressure washing business, it would help out alot
I want to do this aswell. How do you plumb it and what do you have to buy
How can I plumb a bypass to this exact pressure washer?
This is my 18th year power washing. I started with a 3.5 gpm direct drive and made good money. I respect your hustle and honestly that looks like a really decent unit, especially for the price. Cold water is fine for houses, wood restoration and paver/concrete cleaning. As you have probably already realized, the GPM is way more valuable than PSI, except for concrete, everything is softwashed anyway. Wait till you save up and get your 1st hot water skid 😊.... 8gpm is sweet but you'll need a buffer tank as a lot of homes just won't have the volume to prevent cavitation. Honestly though, I have personally found the 5.5-6gpm to be the sweet spot for most of what I do. Best of luck to you both
piece of advice,im a retired mechanic..put in a break in oil then run it for a day then change it with the recommended oil.. great presentation ill be buying same power washer soon..
I’m getting a 4 gpm machine now this video was inspirational.
Awesome glad to hear!
Bleach is way to go. With q or 2 Oz of dawn mixed in. Takes of anything . Over spray or ground sop isnt dangerous to plants either as people think. Its diluted with water and rinsed off rite away. Just spray any plants that may get over spray with water before the bleach wash. Been doing this every season with same machine , reel and 250 ft of hose with some 8% hp bleach , water and low pressure . High pressure doesn't do anything on a residential house other than cause damage around doors , windows , up siding or home decor. Soft wash residential with bleach and water . Only time i use high pressure on residential is if I'm trying to reach high sofits or valley, i turnup with the 0 tip. Other than that maybe use it play by play depending. Just be easy with all that power. I ran mine 4 years and still going strong. Good luck
He is SUPER excited!
Congratulations Man! Same way we started out 3 years ago!
Thanks! Love to hear 💪
Nice ! Does it require you add pump oil out if the box?
need to do the stairs too!!!
Hahaha your right!
Love to hear an update on this after some months.
It’s still holding up great we have 2 of them now
Any issues when hooking this machine directly to the house’s water supply? Trying to avoid using a buffer tank for now.
No issues.
Do you need a water tank to go along with this pressure washing machine ? Or do you just use the house’s spigot?
Hook up to customers water
Video helped me alot thank you guys.
Happy to help!
Just got my business licensed and insured. Thinking about grabbing this machine to speed things up. Are you down steaming straight SH? Or 50/50
50/50
If you did that house in an hour, what kind of job did you do? 😢
I’m using the same exact equipment! How do you get the soap and SH to go through the gun?
Buy a downstream injector.
I have the same one. Been working good although takes a while to start sometimes. I have mine mounted to the trailer with reels.
Yeah it took a few tries to get started but Im lovin it so far
Had mine for a while now and it's great. I had problems cold starting and understanding how the start cord works. If you try to let her rip on the first or second pull you might break your wrist 😂. Gently pull to feel the tension the first two times then let 'er rip the third time 👍
@@jaymichaels8042 haha when that happens you just have to pull the trigger to let out the built up pressure
Try turning off the machine at the fuel valve instead of using the engine on and off switch. I turn the fuel line off and let the machine run out of gas when im done for the day. Sometimes machines are hard to pull, hard to start when gas is still in the carburetor.
Next morning i turn the fuel line on, choke her up and she starts 1 pull every time. I’ve had 1 for a little over a year now and no complaints so far, except maybe how much gas I go through compared to other pressure washers I’ve used. Hope this helps. 🤷🏻♂️
@@platinumhawkpw I never even thought about that but I will definitely try it out, thanks! And yeah this thing goes through gas quite quickly
So this was good?
What made yall choose this over the simpson 4 gpm? I can't decide which one to get
Nothing really other than hearing great things about it
Can you hook up 4.2 GPM to a house water source hose with out destroying hose ?
Yes
Wonder how long the pump will last, I see the engine falls under the 2 year warranty but the pump does not.
Be careful with harbor freight products. Their prices will lure you in. Its hit or miss there
Dont starve it of water and itll last a while
Sweet I'm excited to get mine! What chemicals do you use and what size j rod tips?
We just use sodium hypochlorite and elemonator surfactant, i dont know the exact size of our jrod but theyre rated for 4gpm machines I guesss haha
What mix you spraying? Bleach n surf
Downstreaming so it ends up being about 1%
What size Pressure hose is it 1/4 or 3/8???
for anyone thinking about buying this thing, there is a bit of a
learning curve. I always have problems with starting mine back up after
shutting it down. You have to flush all the air out of the pump. If you
don't have a hose with an on/off valve on it it's a pain in the ass
don't even bother. I luckily have nice hoses that have valves, because I
pressure wash for a living, but it takes some getting used to, and has
been costing me some time and ultimately money. The power is amazing, it
does a great job cleaning, but I probably won't be outfitting all of my
crews with these like I had originally hoped to do when I purchased the
first one.
after storing it overnight it always starts up for me first crank, but after I shut if off for a minute inbetween spraying, it takes a lot of hassle to get going again
@@jamesblake5176 that’s weird we don’t have that problem
@@jmventurelog i'm not sure what it is, but it literally happens to me every time. cranks right up on the first pull when i start the job, and then if something goes wrong and i have to turn it off for a minute it takes me forever to get it started again.
@@jmventurelog have to flush all the air out of the pump, or it gets backed up and won't turn over
@@jmventurelog i noticed the other day that i have oil coming out of the top of my pump now too, just started happening. not sure if there's a tiny crack or what
Was the oil in it?
I'm thinking about getting this one
You should!
@JM Venture Log I ended up going with the ALH4240 from Simpson. I'm trying to sell it though lol I decided not to do pressure washing. Gonna focus on detailing
@@djezoh Oh nice all the best to you!
what did you use to clean the house? Xjet? nice job btw
downstream, thanks!
Did you start off by just pressure washing like just driveways and decks or did you go straight to soft washing? I am looking at getting into this business also. Tired of the J-O-B grind.
Started soft washing immediately 👍
Hey man what type of quick connects will fit the bottom side?
It’s all standard fittings like any other washer
How is this holding up after a summer of use
Still going strong
I would take a close look at the motor and check the GPM rating, their other washers are fake specs not 2.8 but 2.5.
Either way the water output is good for us so I’m not worried
@@jmventurelog And that is why they get away with it
@@WV591because it does the expected job so well
hey bro, please respond if you can. I recently bought one and when i hold the trigger it comes out bad ass. (high pressure the way its supposed to work) but after 5 seconds the pressure decreases. what could it be?
Its normal for it to come out very high at first, but how much is is decreasing by? Like is the pressure very very low or is it still pretty normal?
Low water pressure
After a year how is it holding up?
Great! We don’t use them anymore though
@@jmventurelog what do you guys use know ?
@@myvlogs4360 We have a Honda GX 690
where did you make the signs from
uzmarketing.com
How many stories can it shoot? 3 stories?
Yes, about 3
Update ?
Thing is still kickin but we upgraded
are you using bleach through the machine? I really would like to know. I know it says not to.
Never do that
@@jiffyclean9429 I bought a downstream injector. Learning little by little.
Yeah use a downstream injector or
Do you downstream with it?
Yes
How is downstreaming with it?
Great
What’s your mix ratio
For downstreaming 50/50
How high would you say you can get water with shooter tips
Probably 3 max
Please blast a dirty grill grate with it, I need to see if it will take that crap right off and leave the grates shiny new again
Nothing compares to a honda 9hp or 13hp with a cat pump for commercial use.
Who makes that combo? Simpson?
Yup, Honda is the best, but these machines are great too
No videos using it?
Check out my 1 year review of it
Can you put a cat pump on it
Not too sure honestly
Yes, if you wanted to you could! The motor is basically a Honda clone!
As a DIY home owner, how fast do you think I could make thee $899 back if my goal was to just advertise on facebook and do jobs until it pays for itself?
I got one yesterday and with the jobs I have lined up with just people I know I can have it payed back off. Go with the 2 year warranty
Lets goooooooo ! lol
Ayyy yeah
Does it come with a downstream injector already or do I have to buy one ?
It comes with one but its not very good, it gets clogged a lot
@@jmventurelog just bought this. Did you add a different downstream injector and if so how do you bypass the one built in?
@@DyscoSyndicate Yup I used an external one and you dont need to do anything to the built in one just stick the downstream injector on and your good to go
How do u get the 4400 to suck detergent
Downstream injector and a Jrod 👍
I just bought one 3 days ago how are you using it to soft wash the manual tells u nothing about how to soft wash with it or really anything
You don’t unless you downstream.
He's yummy!
