So will all the WAM4 and WAG5 will be converted into WCAS dual mode shunting loco in places like Howrah, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Banglore, Hyderabad, VSKP, Raipur, Nagpur, Jhansi, Amritsar and all other places for replacing all shunting diesel locomotives shutting down all the diesel engines and for using up all the withdrawn WAM4 locomotives ?
Toh ab Kiya sabhi WAM4 locomotive ko WCAS mein convert Karke har jagah shunting k liye use Kiya jayega WDM Aur WDS diesel shunting locos ko poori tarah khatam karne aur WAM4 ko use mein rakhne ?
Wow Indian rlys has used a good power saving technique to run the number of E-- Locomotives. Now this kind of special battery operated wacs locos can also be runned in dual mode. But this kind of loco must only be used for shunting.
So if there are 130 nos. 3.6V/199Ah batteries, assuming they are all connected in series, then:
Power generated: VAh = 3.6*130*199*130= 12,107,160 W = 12.11 MW (approx.). Plz correct me if I am wrong.
So what's the charging time for the Ni-Cd batteries?
This locomotive type will be great help in SRC-HWH section, in which, the loco can function on OHE mode during travelling from SRC yard to HWH (SE section) and return, while in the shed/yard, then can function on the battery mode. Lot of fuel will be saved.
