PRP is a common procedure for the rejuvenation of the scalp, to help with hair loss and to thicken out the existing hair follicles. To get the best out of your PRP treatments, it is important to be regular for therapy, and also use the home prescriptions regularly. These are the post procedure instructions after PRP treatment for the scalp.
1.It is normal to experience some mild pain, tenderness and itching over the scalp, this is usually very mild, and may last upto 24 hours after treatment. Your dermatologist may advise you to take Paracetamol for pain if needed.
2.Do not wash the hair for the next 12 hours.
3.Wash after 12 hours with a gentle pH balanced shampoo.
4.Avoid scratching or itching the scalp. If the itching, pain persists after 72 hours, see your dermatologist. They may need to examine your scalp to rule out folliculitis
5.Restart Minoxidil after 24 hours of treatment.
6.Avoid swimming, massage with oil or other products for 72 hours.
7.Do not apply hair color, bleach or do any chemical or physical treatments on the hair for at least a week after treatment.
8.If you have any other concerns, or experience any other side effect, consult your dermatologist immediately.
