Brian, thank you for your reaction. Wonderland is one of my very favorite Band-Maid songs. The jazzy feeling of the song, especially MISA's bass tones is both enjoyable and comforting on this cold winter day. Saiki really shows her vocal range with this wonderful song.
Great reaction and the audio on this concert DVD was a mixed bag, some of the time Kanami was hard to hear, which was really strange as most of their DVD's prior to this show were some of the best live audio I've ever heard. Also, there is an audio DVD with the band's commentary for each song and for Wonderland they talked about Saiki's voice - here's part of that: Kanami: Sai-chan's falsetto is beautiful. Miku: Sai-chan's falsetto became possible after the operation on your throat, po. Saiki: Well, that's so. Miku: Until then, you couldn't do it. Saiki: Because the phlegm had obstructed my throat. Like 'Ga-ra-ga-ra.' Miku: Some time ago, Sai-chan asked me, 'How to do falsetto?' po. Saiki: I said, 'I can't do that, because the phlegm obstructs my throat.' Miku: I said, 'Usually it doesn't obstruct.' po. Saiki: I had polyps in my throat, so it was always as if the phlegm were obstructing my throat. Kanami: That's so? Saiki: In my vocal cords, the phlegm was always staying there.
As you're right, Kanami's guitar volume is quite subdued in this song. But I think Kanami understands this. I feel that this is proof that Kanami is not normal. I think you can probably understand that.
Want to hear Kanami better? Then you have to go see them live! That was also my little complaint in the beginning, but it doesn't matter anymore, because the more I listen to their catalogue, the more I like their songs as a whole. Kanami's guitar solo is short but impressive enough. It's a miracle that a pigeon recruited a classically trained pure musical genius, a genius funky bassist, a hard rock'in drummer and an powerful R&B singer! BTW, my favourite guitarists are SRV, Duane, Billy Gibbons and of course, Kanami🤘. Thanks for sharing!
This full concert ( Line Cube Shibuya)had kanami's guitar very low in the mix for some reason,,, too bad that the best live version of "rinne , blooming, and page" were all at this concert.
Kanami's track is always buried in the mix, it's a common complaint for a lot of fans! I think she likes to stand out be even then she doesn't want to stand out TOO much. I think during one of the more recent concerts they really pushed her out a bit more, so you could really hear all the cool leads and texture stuff she was doing in the back.

Thank you for watching.
The deeper one travels down this pigeonhole, the more it becomes apparent just how great they truly are as a musical group.
What do you think about this singer? th-cam.com/video/cTjT23sDzmM/w-d-xo.html

ONE OF MY FAVORITES -- top 5 easily
Band-Maid is VERY versatile.
You never know how the song is going to sound beforehand.
Pop-Punk-Rock-Jazz-Hard Rock-Heavy Metal-Progressive.
Kanamis playing is beautifully exquisite 🤟🤟
This is one of my favorite songs!
BAND-MAIDの曲はどれも創造性を感じて好きですが、この曲はBAND-MAIDが次のステージに進んだと明確に感じる曲でした。
個人的にこの曲のビルドアップしていく構成が好きな人とは友達になれる気がします✨
One of my favorite songs by them. I really like mikus guitar part one the second verse.
One of their underappreciated songs. The woody woodpecker laugh riff or 2/3 of it can be heard in the background.
As you're right, Kanami's guitar volume is quite subdued in this song.
But I think Kanami understands this.

Kanami is a rare gem of a person. She approaches everything with the mindset of "I will do my best"
