This song is exceptional. Almost all of Band-Maid's music is top tier, but this song is a level that most bands aspire to reach but never will. It's not from lack of effort by others, but from a talent and songwriting aspect. They are just better at it than almost everyone else.
100% this. I think their early period, when they were trying (and failing) to get their own material accepted by their management was actually a huge long-term advantage. They've had so much practice by now, and are still trying to improve all the time. It's exciting to witness a band pushing themselves forward this much.

As a old (63yrs old) fan of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath. Led Zep, Iron Maiden, and so many others I can say in all truthfulness that BAND-MAID are a top world class rock band, and on my own personal playlist they are second only to Deep Purple
I'm in my 30s and my personal favorite era of music is the '70s rock and progressive scene. I'm also quite partial to the '80s thrash metal scene and '00s alternative metal scene. BAND-MAID is the perfect culmination of all of those genres with a unique pop blend. They truly are a band that bridges generations of rock music!
I'm still quite partial to Different. Kanami's riff is a personal favorite of mine! This song is probably a better representation for a broader audience though.

The vocal melody reminds me of 80s city pop like many songs on Epic Narratives. It's one of the most J-rock sounding songs by them. 2nd verse onwards really show what Band-Maid is about. Hope people listen to this full version before forming any judgement.

オープニングのこのコーラスの後のAメロはここ一度だけしか使われてないのがもったいないくらいカッコいいんだけど曲全体の構成がさらにその上を走ってるという天才ぶり、流石です

・BAND-MAIDと言えば盤石なリズム隊だけど、今回はドラムフィルを強調しつつ特徴的なウーイング→ざく切りリズムギター→サビ前のベースの下降のようにめまぐるしく転換してドライブ感を出してる。Forbidden taleを彷彿とさせるプロッギーな作曲でありながらアピールが強い
・ハーフタイムを用いたBAND-MAID節も、2:01でギターソロの布石があったり、ブレイク部分で孤独感出してからの泣きの歌詞とか、短くハーフタイムを畳んでギターソロに突如突入したりと、次のステージに進んだ感がある
・最高にアニメ解像度が高い歌詞・サウンド・MV演出。例えば、クロマティックなフレーズが多用されスリリングな作品性にぴったりだし、Re:Re: editからのスクラッチ音と共にサビ入りして明るくなって描き出すニューワールドと歌われるのは非常に効果的に高速な世界の書き換えを表している

コロナが始まる前、やたらとおススメに上がってくるBand Maidを「ははーん、メイド服でRockね。考えたな。Rockをバカにするなとか叩かれるんだろうな」
と思いながら、暇つぶしに動画を観た時の衝撃を今でも覚えてる。
50を過ぎたオッサンだけど、10代のころにどこへ行くときも聞いてたような、心の底から熱くなれるRockはもう死ぬまで現れないと思ってた。
今もそうだけど、一人でいる時頭の中で曲を鳴らしながら別の事やってる。10代の頃みたいだ。

俺たちオッサンはそういうオールドスタイルで熱狂しちゃうんだよね。昔のHM/HRと言えば、ロン毛のにーちゃんが汗だくでビールとタバコの匂いムンムンさせてやるイメージだったけど、今は女の子が当時のミュージシャンと同じような技をさらっとやってのける。当時のロックはメロディアスだったんだよ。LA Rockと呼ばれてた。メロディ＋テクニックが売りだった。多分、オッサンはみんなこの組合わせがあれば10代の頃に戻れるんだよね。

The vocal melody reminds me of 80s city pop like many songs on Epic Narratives.
It's one of the most J-rock sounding songs by them. 2nd verse onwards really show what Band-Maid is about. Hope people listen to this full version before forming any judgement.
