Yeah not a huge fan of this. Swapping in a built 427, but then capping the boost on the coyote is wild. I get that the 302 is built also, but they should probably just allow them to both to run as much boost as they can. I mean the 427 should win easy, but I truly think the coyote will keep up just fine
To be fair the coyote is also a built motor, they just rev out so far and make so much top end power that there's no way a pushrod 5.7 will be anywhere close without a shit ton more boost. Which will probably blow it up and cost them even more than just doing it right the first time. Coyotes are straight up better motors, there's a reason all the drag guys are swapping to them.

That's the second coolest truck I have ever seen. My 2007 short bed Silverado 1500 Classic 4x4 LT in red is the first! 227,000 miles on it and it still runs as good as the day I bought it in 2008 with 14,000 miles on it.

I'm a die hard ford guy, but that red truck looks better than the blue one. From a looks stand point, the Ford interior and the GMC exterior would make the perfect combination.

When it comes to trucks I am a Ford guy through and through......BUT this is possibly one of the nicest GMC's I have ever seen in nearly 50 years!! I always loved the old Chevy/ GMC trucks of the 1962 to 1976 model years!! And the truck Puddin at Puddin's Fab shop built is pretty exceptional as well!! Something about their clean lines is "pleasant to the eye" and I love a truck that is just "ordinary"!!!

The interior of this truck started out as an extended cab or double cab on a longer frame. Completely different truck than what you see. That truck came with different features from the factory. Apples and oranges. An F150 Limited make more power stock to stock, looks better, costs more, sells out 4 to 1 over the GMC

@fcku4798 still chevy, he use Texas Speed and Steve Morrison which is still Ls based blocks. That ford isn't a stock ford either but it's still ford based. And mind you his c7 does have stock block so does few others in that shop. Idk if you ever met him at ls fest or been to the freedom factory. I have so I've seen most of them. They still true chevy. But we gone see what's what after motor get in that shorty.
It's a stock 5.3 with a useless blower currently. If it had the stock motor in it it would be a 2.7 4 cylinder. The frame is still a factory gm frame, factory gm bed, factory gm cab and nose. It's all stock GM parts, they just had to assemble it to get a v8 4wd short bed. The ford has also had the motor replaced. LOL
Tell Jackstand and squirrel that little chevy can't make enough power to break cranks, that's why it's safe, even with 125 extra cubic inches...gotta turn down the F150 to give the LS a chance.

Get a stock 5.3 and a stock 5.0 put the same blower and same boost I’m sure the 5.0 will make power but be more expensive to build.

In 2000 I bought a 2wd GMC regular cab shortbed with a 5.3...Indigo blue with captains chairs!!! A 2 seater truck with over 300 hp!! I was very proud of that truck...traded it for my first family vehicle a 2003 Pontiac vibe I bought in 2002. One of the first around. There's a distinct difference in engine technologies. The Coyote is a fantastic engine, but it's easier to make power with them without adding overall displacement. Pushrod engines the only real way to add power is forced induction (or nitrous) and bigger displacement. Fast is fast, people who make the cubic inch complaints don't make any sense to me. There's 5 second 4 cylinder cars making several thousand horsepower on a stock block, so are those superior to the coyote platform because they use far fewer cubic inches? No. The "cubic inches" arguments is the ricer excuses of the car world.

The coyote can make much more on stock block than that 5.3. best bang for you buck would be the coyote imo. Crank support and built bottom end. They really have to build a whole 427 to be able to even compete with the coyote. Not only that but Cleet said himself he would LOWER the boost on the coyote to compete. I'll bet the coyote still makes more power at the same boost level. The heads flow very well.

In my county we can still buy the reg cab short bed, V8, 4WD, 10 speed AND with a nicer leather interior with a center console. You can still opt for the bench seat, but most people get the “top” AT4 option. (AT4 is the name for the “full option” on the reg cab with a factory lift, ventilated seats, bigger screen, radar cruise control...)

That’s a lot of work for what is essentially a stock truck with off the shelf bolt on parts. I’d be curious in a total cost comparison frame swap and all included. I love both but the ford has the advantage in easy of entry and I would put my money on cost as well.

I agree with Tie, the Chevy wheel wells are strange looking. I have a co worker who has a newer Chevy, the wheel wells are narrow where you can't put oversized tires without a huge lift.
Don't run % over injectors on a DI engine. Just run additional port injection. Bigger DI injectors are a pain in the ass to tune. Additional injection with a Reflex unit, Haltech or Holley ECU for control would perform much better.
@@Everyone_Dies Hopefully but they've probably already got the thing done. They'll see though. Bigger DI systems a lose-lose. Major remapping of injection timing required that most tuners don't fully understand and horrible linearity. Additional port fuel injection is always the better alternative, especially when systems exist that can use a wideband input to trim the output of the injectors since GM is still in the narrowband stone age. The dual injection system on the newer F-150s and Mustangs is one of the biggest reasons why they perform the way they do.

I'm a die hard ford guy, but that red truck looks better than the blue one. From a looks stand point, the Ford interior and the GMC exterior would make the perfect combination.

When it comes to trucks I am a Ford guy through and through......BUT this is possibly one of the nicest GMC's I have ever seen in nearly 50 years!! I always loved the old Chevy/ GMC trucks of the 1962 to 1976 model years!! And the truck Puddin at Puddin's Fab shop built is pretty exceptional as well!! Something about their clean lines is "pleasant to the eye" and I love a truck that is just "ordinary"!!!
Not to mention their ride is so much more stiff and truck like rather than floppy and bouncy like an inner tube
Good new is you only have to do a 427ci stroker with heads and a custom cam to try and keep up with a 302 😂
And create a truck that doesn't actually exist from the factory.
That 302 isn't exactly a stock 302 with just a blower either though.

The interior of this truck started out as an extended cab or double cab on a longer frame. Completely different truck than what you see. That truck came with different features from the factory. Apples and oranges. An F150 Limited make more power stock to stock, looks better, costs more, sells out 4 to 1 over the GMC

It’s just a stock 5.3 engine. It’s already a built truck.
It's a stock 5.3 with a useless blower currently. If it had the stock motor in it it would be a 2.7 4 cylinder. The frame is still a factory gm frame, factory gm bed, factory gm cab and nose. It's all stock GM parts, they just had to assemble it to get a v8 4wd short bed. The ford has also had the motor replaced. LOL

Get a stock 5.3 and a stock 5.0 put the same blower and same boost I’m sure the 5.0 will make power but be more expensive to build.

In 2000 I bought a 2wd GMC regular cab shortbed with a 5.3...Indigo blue with captains chairs!!! A 2 seater truck with over 300 hp!! I was very proud of that truck...traded it for my first family vehicle a 2003 Pontiac vibe I bought in 2002. One of the first around. Lasted for years unlike my relationship...now I'm a single father and trucks like that are a dream!!!!! Great content!!! Love it all!💯🔥💥🚀

There's a distinct difference in engine technologies. The Coyote is a fantastic engine, but it's easier to make power with them without adding overall displacement. Pushrod engines the only real way to add power is forced induction (or nitrous) and bigger displacement. Fast is fast, people who make the cubic inch complaints don't make any sense to me. There's 5 second 4 cylinder cars making several thousand horsepower on a stock block, so are those superior to the coyote platform because they use far fewer cubic inches? No. The "cubic inches" arguments is the ricer excuses of the car world.

The coyote can make much more on stock block than that 5.3. best bang for you buck would be the coyote imo. Crank support and built bottom end. They really have to build a whole 427 to be able to even compete with the coyote. Not only that but Cleet said himself he would LOWER the boost on the coyote to compete. I'll bet the coyote still makes more power at the same boost level. The heads flow very well.

I normally don't like GMC or Chevy trucks but that thing looks amazing. Possibly the best looking truck I've ever seen.
In my county we can still buy the reg cab short bed, V8, 4WD, 10 speed AND with a nicer leather interior with a center console. You can still opt for the bench seat, but most people get the “top” AT4 option. (AT4 is the name for the “full option” on the reg cab with a factory lift, ventilated seats, bigger screen, radar cruise control...)

That’s a lot of work for what is essentially a stock truck with off the shelf bolt on parts. I’d be curious in a total cost comparison frame swap and all included. I love both but the ford has the advantage in easy of entry and I would put my money on cost as well.

I agree with Tie, the Chevy wheel wells are strange looking. I have a co worker who has a newer Chevy, the wheel wells are narrow where you can't put oversized tires without a huge lift.
Don't run % over injectors on a DI engine. Just run additional port injection. Bigger DI injectors are a pain in the ass to tune. Additional injection with a Reflex unit, Haltech or Holley ECU for control would perform much better.

@@Everyone_Dies Hopefully but they've probably already got the thing done. They'll see though. Bigger DI systems a lose-lose. Major remapping of injection timing required that most tuners don't fully understand and horrible linearity. Additional port fuel injection is always the better alternative, especially when systems exist that can use a wideband input to trim the output of the injectors since GM is still in the narrowband stone age. The dual injection system on the newer F-150s and Mustangs is one of the biggest reasons why they perform the way they do.
The truck is sweet! When Ty does the exhuast, I'd love to see a side exit in front of the rear wheels under the fenders, like on neighbor!
