This video is more of a lesson to all beginner guitar players, who feel uncomfortable with cheap gear. It is not the gear that matters, it is the skills you have. I have met a guitarist in a pub, he was absolutely destroying his 50s Fender Telecaster. I was blown away. Then we had a drink and I (beginner) started complaining about my cheap gear. At one moment, he grabbed my 120€ guitar and played on it. And it sounded amazing. By that time I knew, if something is going to make me better, it has to be my skils. Now, enough reading. Go practice :)

awesome story man!!!, that guy in the pub knew exactly what inspiration to give you, as beginners we always look at more expensive guitar= better sound better tone etc etc, i mean we see slash play gibson les pauls not harley bentons right??, but slash would sound just as good on a harley benton or epiphone les paul special ii , or john mayer on a squier...

If your budget is around $300 you can get a Schecter C-6 aswell, very nice looking guitar that is basically made for metal.
comes in satin metallic blue, black, or white
    24 fretts and graphite nut
    Throughbody strings
double humbuckers for all of the metal you could want
    Basswood body and maple neck
I don't know why I am trying to upsell this guitar, I just love it so much for the price.

HIGHLY recommend that Ibanez RGA42FM, it’s got an excellent neck for lead playing and also feels great for Rhythm. I replaced the stock pickups with the EMG 81/85 combo and it sounds amazing. 10/10 recommend for anyone, not just beginners.

Affordable guitars have come such a long way since they've been outsourced to the far East, they really have. God, my first axe was a complete dogshite Squier, with really bright, nasty sounding ceramic pups & hardware made out of the cheapest, low quality metal I think they could find. I had to tune it every 5 mins, because it NEVER stayed in tune for more than just one song (if I was lucky) but it was Olympic White & had the fat headstock so I thought I was the reincarnation of Hendrix lol. I played it through an even worse 10w Bulldog practice amp (which I ruined by puncturing the speaker cone with a fork because I read Ray Davis had done it to get his 'You Really Got Me' tone lol) but I got the whole rig for the princely sum of just £25 so....

I bought an Ibanez RG421EX which has the Quantum pickups, and would highly recommend the Ibanez RGA 42FM as it's hard tail, and has a super slim neck, which is dead easy to play. The Pacifica looks great but a tremolo in a beginner's guitar is a mistake, they're a pain to tune and the neck is pretty standard. You can also get great tones from the 5 way switch on the Ibanez especially the single coil setting (second up). Rock solid tuning, great pickups and great neck. The best choice. When you've improved then just upgrade to other RGs, which are stellar.

    An open letter to pmtvuk/Dagan
I appreciate the effort that goes into these videos. They're obviously done after hours, possibly after a full shift and possibly without pay. I know that these are done out of love of guitars. Dagan, I hope you read through the comments here and will consider this in the future "metal guitars that don't suck, Part Deux". Please, on the next video remember those fans you have here across the pond don't have EASTCOAST, they are instead sold under the name "Stagg" here. I appreciated the Jackson minis being included on here much overlooked and purchased the dinky minion and Gio Mikro on your recommendation. The Pacifica and east coast "gs" though please need to go. I was hoping and praying for some others like (referencing your store in Newcastle)
Ibanez grx (lovely colors, still an Ibanez metal monster)
    jackson js22
    schecter c6
    charvel San Dimas.
    Jackson king v
I understand that les pauls, strats, teles, pacificas are good universal fillers when applied with only six or seven guitars in a video, and you break out the les paul, strat, and pacifica, that's 3 guitars out of six that have been in other videos as well. Please Dagan, I love your videos, i've got a wish list comprised of every electric, acoustic and bass that you have reviewed. Thank you for the effort, thank you for the consideration, please move beyond the repeating guitars of Epiphone sg/eastcoast gs. I understand why you worked it the way you did, I know you try as hard as you can to relay this information and that it's likely coming from the heart. I pray that you can take constructive criticism. I was always told don't gripe if you aren't able to offer a solution or a modification to make things better. This is the only thing I can offer up. Best wishes, Keep rocking and you're awesome for doing what you do!

I'd recommend going with the Jackson Dinky. It's perfect for metal and versatile for most other genres. I've been playing for a little over two decades already and I just picked one up to upgrade. It's extremely solid for the price ($200). I'm upgrading the tuners as they are the weakest point but they're not unusable. First thing on my to do list. Probably gonna swap the pickups out too eventually but the stock ones are surprisingly decent. Basically for beginner purposes it's fine as is.
If you do pick one up (or any of the models shown in the vid) you might want to consider getting it set up by a shop which will run you $50-60 depending on who you go with. I set mine up myself as there were intonation (good thing to google and learn to do yourself) and action (string height) issues right out of the box but that's to be expected. Once I got it sorted it plays like butter. With a little time and internetting and you can learn the process yourself and save yourself some coin down the line.
      Anyways happy playing and \m/

Absolutely-fkn-lutely! I bought a Samick Gregg Bennett UM4 (PRS-inspired😉) with Wilkinson trem from a pawnshop for bugger all. I’d never heard of them and the electronics had issues but it was too cheap and looked too good to leave behind. I dab of solder on the output jack and it’s one of my favourites. I’ve even gone and got a UM4 with tune-o-matic/stop bar bridge. Korean built with Duncan Designed pickups and Grover/Wilkinson hardware, they stick it some much more expensive guitars I’ve got sitting next to them. Gregg Bennett Samick FTMFW! If you see one of the Korean ones, please let me know.

Never understood why Jackson makes those tiny guitars. I guess kids or players with sawed off arms, the T-Rex will jam! What I like most about Jackson is they proudly display their name on ALL their guitars. No matter if its a Japanese, Indonesian, or Mexican or American version. Unlike ESP and LTD.

Biabhab is correct...an Ibanez has such versatility as long as your pick set is HSH for great clean tones as well as kick ass distorted tones using the bridge humbucker... And thief trem systems are so much easier to maintain than a Floyd is......you'll be far happier with it over the Floyd rose systems....at least that is my opinion.......rock on!

I own 4 electric guitars but still my first guitar (a 260€ sg wich seems like a gibson goldseries but is probably a fake since i doubt a gibson would cost so few moneys) is the one i like the most, has a weird tone, something different that make it sound special, even different than my other sg
Idk why but every people who tried it said the same thing, its like i found a gem in a mud swamp. Still kinda muddy and ruined by the time but still amazing in its non-perfection
