Thank you for this video! I am deciding between UC Berkeley and a liberal arts college in the east coast, this video was very informative.

Hey Kevin! I just figured out your youtube channel. I'm a transfer student who is an Art major. I recently got admitted to Berkeley and am about to go there. I do really think about your last sharing about the art major and department in Berk about its not popular as the school in SoCal or EastWest. I got denied by UCLA that's why Berk is also my top option left. I do have some backup plans for applying to USC this Fall. I don't know yet and I want to give it a try first here to see how it will be.
Thank you for this video! It does help me a lot in getting to know more about Berkeley.

Hey Kevin! Thank you for an informative video! As a transfer student, I recently got admitted to CAL and other schools for Communication/Media Studies but I am contemplating if Cal is for me. Everyone is telling me to go to Berkeley because of the "name" but I do not even know where I want to go anymore. I am deciding between staying local and going to CSUF or CAL. However, the whole video especially the end part reassured me of my decision. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey Alyssa! Aww thank you for sharing and congratulations!!! I think it's not necessarily about making the "right" decision or dwelling on past but rather making the most out of things for yourself! Good luck in whatever you do!

I would highly advice you to go to Cal. The “name” exists for a reason, and it’ll benefit you a lot when you’re out looking for jobs, especially for your major where a direct path to jobs isn’t exactly as conspicuous as STEM majors; you’ll need the power of that brand behind you. This video is a wee bit exaggerated. Yes, cal is hard, but it’s completely doable. Is it competitive? Mostly for engineering majors. But even then, so what? The real world is competitive, and that is the kind of education schools like cal and u of Chicago (two of the widely known competitive schools) can give you. So yeah, don’t skip out on your golden opportunity.

Ha I had a writing class professor who refused to give 4.0. We asked him how we can get 4.0 and she said "you have to write better than me." We were like 'wtf? She literally spent last 40 years writing'. So basically, the highest grade we could get was 3.6 in her class.

I really don’t get why they do grade deflation. Don’t they want their students to get into good grad schools? If you earned the grade, it’s not fair to bring it down just so the professor can have an even distribution. I heard Harvard does the opposite - inflates grades.

haha yup, weird how there are some class that helps your grade but also some class that can hurt your grade! I would assume there's emphasis on the UC Berkeley name to compensate...
