The interpretation that each gymnopédie represents a specific season is very clever. This idea, along with the accompanying pictures, changed my outlook on the songs' meanings significantly.
This piece can make you both relaxed and comfortable, or it can make you burst out in tears. Such a powerful piece, the first time I heard it I fell in love.
@kronic I do think its kinda sad when some guy at home lofi it and takes all the credit. But how does it have to do with pc culture? lofi overall is a good thing to classical/jazz peeps imo. Brings them to more ears.
The third is particularly beautiful; more complicated and meandering. Its as if the pieces progress as does a mans life, and the third is a man whos asked all his questions; his mind begins to wander as it loses its grasp on the world. He then wafts through blanching gradations of color in an upward gyro, a weightless gossamer as wan as a whisper, becoming fainter and fainter until he is no more. Until he is forgotten.
I totally get that. It's almost somber but it's also really serene. I haven't felt truly alone since I repented of my sins and allowed the Spirit of God into me. Christ alone is Salvation. His name, Yeshua (Jesus/Jesús) is Hebrew for Salvation. Repent and be baptized if you haven't already. :) It's a beautiful life after Christ becomes a part of you. God bless!
that´s because of the scales and harmonies of the impressionist period which inspired joe hisaishi´s work, actually if you pay attention you can find some resemblances to debussy and satie in his work. mostly because of the exotic scales he uses, scales thata are fundamental to the impressionist period. same goes with the quartal harmonies and stuff...
This song and many other beautiful classics were played in my crib when I was a baby which is probably why I have grown to love this type of music. This song gives me such a nostalgic feeling. I love it.
For me the first feels like longing for change, the second movement, and the last arrival. Like looking outside your window one day and deciding to take a trip to the sea.
I honestly sit and close my eyes and try to imagine Satie sitting at his piano with the faint sounds of Paris in the background coming through his open window as he pours his soul into these pieces. It's weird but, I imagine a musty smell, like the one you'd get while in an old house or library, and I would've imagined an emerald green kind of colour in the room where is piano was. Strange
PASCAL
this song gives me the feeling of acceptance in general. acceptance of pain acceptance of reality and acceptance of death. it makes me picture a vast open of nothingness but i still feel fulfilled. It shows that humans are simple beings and only a vast and simple plain of existence is what we truly desire.
Sounds like falling in love, falling out of love, losing someone, losing yourself, waking up or slowly falling asleep. Feels like I’m living so many stories at once
Currently sitting in a tub full of hot water, sipping coffee while the glow of chakra cleansing candles dance around me. Little moments of opportunities like this allow me to smile and be grateful for the fact that I am alive.
No matter how many times I listen to these, they will still make me shed a tear. both for their beauty and the emotions and memories I have attached to them.
what sucks the most about classical music is that you can't look up what it's called. i tried looking this up and it looked a lot like "dun dun dun dun piano."
I'm in love. Yes it's exactly like this song. Its not all butterflies. There's some quiet and tense moments. Lots of sad reminiscent times, and the occasional excitement. But it's a happy thing.
This song makes me feel nostalgic for a place that doesn't exist. Man, if I want to go to that place right now. By the way, I read most of the comments, and I think that this song packs up all the things said about this song in the comments. Because It feels nostalgic, It feels like a love letter, even depressive at times. Erik must have put a lot of work in this piece.
yeaaaahhhhh me too!!! near my house there used to be a hill with a lot of trees, when I was a kid I used to go there with my siblings, now the trees have disappeared because of the over-population.
I have been looking for this music for such a long time,I just simply love it.It makes me feel calm, melancoly and serene all at the same time.Thank you.
The song of visiting your early childhood town, seeing how some things changed, stayed the same, removed, and the world just kept marching forward while you never knew it
My first record of Sati was from Daniel Varsano, and i loved it . Time has past and i still appreciate his playing . He understood a slow tempo is fundamental . Today, most of virtusos play faster, and miss the essential flow, no soul any more !
I first heard this song as the last track on a Blood, Sweat and Tears album while in college. In later years it came to represent a special relationship in my life. I will carry it with me forever.
Merci pour cette interprétation des gymnopedies d' Erik Satie. Je trouve cette musique très belle et sublimée par l'image des différentes saisons. Pascal et Marie-Ange 34
That's so funny. I was thinking of this song while playing piano and tried to play it by memory, and then I was showing my mom Moonlight Sonata so I sent her that, and when I wasn't looking at my phone, I accidentally opened this video up
that type of music when your chilling on the couch slouching around the living room and your grandparents play these classy music, you get comfortable laying on the couch to that warm semi perfect temperature that you are in right now, your head goes flimsy and you slept the entire day to that same music over and over again. waking up you wonder what that music was? you never asked, and now you're here
what happens is many times i gotta ask thsoe youtubers those classing songs playing at the soundtrack and nobody never answer... it was a lucky i find this song. i dont care about using but at least you gotta give credit!
Really love the interpretation of this piece in this video, ikn if it's the same performer in other videos about this same piece but in this one there's something different.
The first one has this feeling of looking at an old 19th century photograph taken in the 1870s, its a man gazing at a beautiful woman from a previous time in her beauty, bustled dress having a man 140 yrs later wanting to meet her but he cant.
The interpretation that each gymnopédie represents a specific season is very clever. This idea, along with the accompanying pictures, changed my outlook on the songs' meanings significantly.
It took me 5 years to finally find this song, holy shit did that take me a while
The same!!!
My the same.
i stumbled upon it lol, very beautiful.
Is it in an anime?
I bet you did not search 8hrs a day for this track.

The first lofi we never forget
Shima Nagazap highly underrated comment
true
I literally thought it was a modern LOFI song. It’s in a lot of LOFI songs. Then today I saw it listed under greatest classics and I was so suprised.
@kronic I do think its kinda sad when some guy at home lofi it and takes all the credit. But how does it have to do with pc culture?
lofi overall is a good thing to classical/jazz peeps imo. Brings them to more ears.
@kronic if anything, YOU sound like a woke little a-hole lmao thinking you know everything

Murky Waters beautiful description of this music.
I don't know why but this song makes me feel like if I were the only person in the world
Ese es el objetivo , un camino hacia el interior...un camino individual y unico
I agree, his music expresses unity. But you can also see the people as a unit, on a sphere lost in space.
I totally get that. It's almost somber but it's also really serene.

It's because it remember Minecraft's theme haha
Essa é a função da música de salão, você se sentir bem estando só ou acompanhada
This feels like it would do well for a Studio Gibli feature.
Damn true
I found out this song was a thing because I went into a Studio Ghibli world in VRChat, and this was the first song that played.
@@meeko429 it sounds similar to the piano in ReLife, no? Wonder if this piece was the inspiration?
KyoAni uses this in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. really fit the mood.

Now readying up for the next age.

The PBS channel 13 in NYC used to play this before they signed off for the night back in the early 70s . Never knew the name of it and loved it.

Foo the Flowerhorn is that channel you're talking about. He's fantastic and watching his videos got me into classical and gentle piano concertos 😍
I love his channel aghhhhhhhh ❤️❤️
