    Thank you, I feel more confident doing this now. I have a leggy stem with 2 heads. Hopefully this will result in 2 new plants plus new growth on the stem!

      You're welcome Mam! Just be sure to water the bottom half of the plant when the soil is dry, to keep it growing.

    Do you still need to air dry the head? Or can you plant it straight away? 😊 plant newbie here 😊

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I actually let mine dry out for about a week, and replant them when they've got roots already. You can replant right away if the stem is not that thick, or if you're sure that it will not get wet until the wound has healed. But ultimately I think drying it out for a day or two will be better.

    thank you so much for this video! can i ask what’s the purpose of the cinnamon and what else i could substitute it with?

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cinnamon acts as an anti-fungal, to avoid the cut part from getting rot. Others use rooting hormone, but most of the time I just let them dry without putting anything, and it's been working well for me, too.

    hello! can you behead newly bought succulents with soil?

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you think that there's problems with the roots then yes you can behead it. For propagation, though, you want to make sure that it's already a big plant, because if the stem is still small then it might have a harder time producing pups.

    • @monicabordallo

      @@KaleiPlants thank you! what are the usual problems to look out for?

      and pwede po pugutan yung token size na succulents?

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hindi po maganda pugutan yung token size. Palakihin po muna at baka mamatay lang yung stem kasi wala pa siyang masyadong energy na naipon... Ang problems po sa mga pinagpugutan mahirap malaman kung uhaw na sila. Kapag natuyot po yung stem na naiwan baka hindi na siya mag-anak...

    Been looking for a video like this! Thank you. So if I behead my succulent, how long do I need to wait before I can replant it?

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can wait until the cut part dries up. This could take about 2-3 days depending on the thickness of the stem. 😊

    before beheading is it necessary to water it?how many days after you water to do beheading?

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Best to behead right after their potting mix dries up. It's also not good to behead while they are still wet as it will make their wounds dry out longer.

    Hey, this video was really helpful! ^_^ If the succulent has a thin stem (maybe about 1cm in diameter), will the head still survive and grow new roots properly after being removed? I know the stem might not produce pups, but I’m more concerned about the head surviving.

    • @KaleiPlants
      @KaleiPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the head has several leaves then it might root still, just give it less light so it won't dry out while it's still growing roots...
